You have a great mentality and approach and that is the main difference between you and most dealers out there. Keep up the hard work Cris 🙏🏻

First, at whatever point when you ask yourself, "Should I keep VLOGing?". The answer is YES. Second, as a business owner and entrepreneur, I identify with your tone when you speak about how a business actually runs. The endless hours, the missed opportunities, the lack of time, sprinkled with flashes of hope and pride in your craft. As someone looking to get into watchmaking/repair/sales as a hobby/side job, your insights will come in handy, and I'm happy I found your shop and subscribed to the channel; looking forward to more videos with the nuts and bolts of the industry. Thanks.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words. I want to humanize what we do. It is not red carpets and high life. We do what a lot of people dream of but it comes at a personal price and it is certainly not purely transactional.

Unfortunately I don't have good experience dealing with watch dealers. Especially when trying to sell them the watch. That's when most of them become very nasty and arrogant.

Depends who you deal with. Before pandemic I used to close 90% of the deals with people, so very little time wasted. Now I waste 95% of my time answering questions and refusing crazy expected prices from people. Yes, I did become more sour because the expectations of people make no sense and they value money over relationships. I understand your friction point with certain people but as a watch lover myself this industry is about to implode on itself as 10-20k++ watches were NOT the norm 10 years ago. The fun was destroyed when people put money in front of pleasure. Always end up in the same result. Destruction.

@@timemerchantsmtl I will say it's 100% of all the watch dealers I have dealt with, to varying degree. Unfortunately, it's a business so I understand why most watch dealers ( perhaps not you ) try to get the absolutely best possible price from me as a seller but sometimes, it's really not pleasant the tactics they deploy including (1) Ghosting me rather than just upfront said they are not interested (2) low-ball at ridiculously insulting price which I knew is impossible (3) Finding fault with the watch when there were none. (2) and (3) are probably bargaining tactics but (1) is really sickening. Then on the other hand, selling direct to end-buyers often resulting in better prices but more time spent dealing with tire kickers and time wasting.

@@bl1204 we are supposed to be brokers, not abusing and killing the sheep every time we make a deal. I rather make 10% 100 times than 30% 10 times. Actually between dealers we often get better deals than from end customers lately. Chrono24 still makes the market look healthy in appearance but we are far from it in reality.
