"Despite the common belief to the contrary, veteran-specific benefits and services fall short of meeting the needs of veterans and their families, many of whom struggle to meet basic needs even with Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) supports!" The Governments always find the money to go to war, but not the funds to pay for their REAL needs. Thank you Robert. 300,000 plus Vietnam Veterans have died from illnesses directly related to their exposure to dioxin (Agent Orange) AFTER they came home and for years both the USA and Australia have fought paying benefits until recently. Sadly so many patriots paid that lack of help with their lives ... "Memorial Day" ... to both governments it's just another holiday.
Also, when Trump gives those tax cuts to the rich, less federal revenue means less is given to each state, which means they have less to give to cities and towns. So either city services are cut or property taxes go up.
Orwell warned about the US military industrial complex shaping a new world order. Big brother arrived post ww2 and we have been living in it ever since.
As a business owner I saw how I made more under democrats than I did under republicans. Sure I paid more in taxes but I made more money and it made my business stronger. My business almost failed under trump but under Biden I have so much to reinvest in the company and employees
i went broke when obama took office. couldnt get employees anymore at any wage. even $50 an hour. cause democrats paid them to stay home. whats your business? section 8 housing? smoke shop? liquor store?
My corporation which I bootstrapped from $0 to $80M worth has never seen the growth we experience today. The Trump years were hard years with constant uncertainty and faulty economic moves. Economically I could never vote Republican, they play for the ultra rich and care less for any class below that. The democrats bring stability and common sense for all
You're lying. The economy during Trump was never better. If you saw growth during dumbojo it was because all the previous business came flooding back AFTER the demorat shutdowns.
You’re forgetting the brothel/casino in Nevada that was seized by the IRS over back taxes. Running it as a government operation, it folded completely and went bankrupt. “We’re from the government, and we’re here to help.” The nine most terrifying words in the English language, just as Reagan warned us.
Nah Biden is doing a fine job and beating everyone to bankrupting the house. Largest increase in deficit under Biden in americas history people. Oh and higher prices on everything, chaos in the world. Any democrats face when you list facts 👉🤬
He raised my taxes. He was ONE vote away from taking my healthcare. Now he wants to raise prices on most goods by 10%. Not on my watch! Donate, canvass, phone bank, call your representatives until they're sick of hearing your voice. We cannot allow this man to ever be anywhere near the White House again!
Well, Joe Biden already inflated our currency by 20% in just 3 years. If everything is Putin's fault, Trump's fault, or the pandemic, begs the question, who's in charge? Go ahead, cry about what didn't happen, what you speculate might happen, but our money is worth significantly less and if Joe Biden's leadership isn't sufficient to bring about prosperity, then what is his leadership worth? "Pay your fair share" said the man whose own son is getting away with not paying his fair share. "A little bit of breathing room" is all we get, but billions we don't have spent on proxy wars, which Biden has yet to solve or quell, is acceptable to you? Remind me how many million barrels of oil from our SPR was sold to China? Remind me how many billions we have given to Iran, a known supporter of terrorism, because people like you think money is not fungible? Reminder, it was Trump who championed the Abraham Accord, literally brokering peace in the Middle East, which was promptly sidelined when Joe took office, and now we have another war in Israel, costing us billions we don't have. Tell me again how Biden should be given another term and why we cannot allow Trump anywhere near the WH again.
You really think that the 2 party system can fix this? We're pretty much fucked at this point. Harris just wants to take more rights, Trump just wants to be a dictator.
I opened up a high yield savings account back in 2017 and interest rate was 3.25 by the time Trump ended his term it had gone down to .5%. Now that Biden is in office it’s up to 4.44%.
Yeah? And what happened during that time between then and now? Oh I don’t know stock market volatility, trade war that Trump lost by the way, government shut downs oh by the way he saw the longest government shut down in history because he was strong arming Congress to get money for his wall that did nothing to stop illegal immigration, then of course there was a pandemic that he tried to ignore and when it hit the country he didn’t know what to do and was desperate to keep the economy open because he knew that was all he had, oh and then there was the shaky and anemic response to that failure, then there was a stimulus checks… So basically what I’m getting at is that Biden? It’s not his fault that you’re “high-yield savings account“ is not where it was, Bonnie. Biden had to clean up the mess of yet another failed Republican president. And I’m going to illustrate a little history to you. Republicans are terrible for your savings account. Don’t believe me? Ask people who experienced the crash of 2008. Oh and this is the part that’s going to hurt you the most but I’m here to help: if Trump gets back in office? He will put us on a path to get another financial meltdown. Where will your savings be then I wonder?
And what? These kinds of thought processes are very short sighted and don’t tell the whole picture. Since higher rates means increased borrowing costs, slower economic growth, higher mortgage payments, strain on small and medium sized businesses, lower consumer spending and confidence, plus many more. You making that in saving doesn’t really make a difference when it’s being passed on by the costs of everything else. Low rates also has its cons, however rates only went so low due to the world being halted by Covid, in order to stimulate the economy. This interplay helps manage economic stability, although it’s not always timed well or effective in the short term.
Why didn't you mention the most important part? TFG says he will put a 15% tariff on imported goods. If people don't like high prices now, they'll hate it then. Spread this everywhere.
@@williamanderson4029 No not like that at all. Biden's tariff is targeted at the competition from Chinese EVs only, as a way of benefiting American car companies while they transition to EV technology. While one can argue about that strategy, it won't affect the economy in general. Unlike Mango Mussolini's general tariff which wil give us hyper inflation and trash what is currently the best economy in the post-Covid world.
@@dustinstoker I meant most important as an election issue. "It's the economy stupid", remember? In actual fact, the preservation of democracy is the most important issue. Most voters don't realize that.

I agree. A financial advisor can really help you re-adjust and identify blindspots that you yourself do not notice, like mine did in advising me during COVID on how the pandemic will shape things, and I made it out big and still make up to at least 20k in dividend per month.
That's really great. I've tried doing some research myself to hire a financial advisor, but it's really overwhelming. Could you recommend who you work with, please?

Social Security is self funded - it has zero impact on the federal budget, or at least it did until the Republicans started raiding the social security trust fund for their pet projects. It was supposed to be a loan, backed by bonds, but of course was never paid back. They stole roughly $2 trillion dollars from it. Inflation and the cost of food, etc...is a result of big corporations inflating prices, charging more for essentials, leaving consumers forced to pay whatever they charge. The president (no matter which one) cannot change this, for good or bad. If you think Trump will reduce the cost of food, not going to happen. This is all incredibly frightening, there does not appear to be an end in sight to any of it. Hopefully, someone who can actually does something before it's too late.

Why is no one talking about the economic hazards of proposed migrant deportations? The effect of inflation in areas such as construction and housing, agriculture and meat packing, will be devastating! Not to mention labor shortages in general.
Because racism is paramount to all of the white boys and girls, which Trump exploits. Same age old BS as to blaming some perceived "enemy" for a nation's problems. And as to those same white boys and girls, I don't hear from any one of them about how migrants took their crop picking jobs.
You mean when he plans to tear people out of homes and their cars in front of their screaming (then traumatized) kids that were born here? Virtually leaving them with no parents and going into foster care? And doing that on a massive scale with millions of people? When I was an English teacher in the Mesa Public Schools district in Mesa, Arizona, I applied for the federal loan forgiveness program. One stipulation was that applicants had to have taught two or three years in Title 1 schools. No, problem, I thought. I'd taught 11 years in Title 1 schools. When my application was rejected, I was depressed. My husband's cousin taught Math and he had his loan forgiven, but not me. Then I heard that only Math and Special Ed. teachers received the loan forgiveness. Later I heard that 93% of teacher loan forgiveness applicants did not get their loans forgiven. What gives, and where did the money appropriated for that program end up? Probably in some congressmen's or school administrators' pockets. Thank you, Robert Reich, for making Americans aware of these problems.
I worked 6 and 7 day weeks for years to pay off my student debt. I didn't twist anyone's arm to take out a student loan, and I don't want to pay for it. I figured out for myself that my aspirations of being an archaeologist were unrealistic, because the cost of my education wouldn't be rewarded by a higher income. If I could make that decision at age 18, why can't these young adults do it today?
@edwardstevens6787 Then what about the massive aid to Ukraine and Israel? Are those more important than the lives of the citizens who chose to get education? Education should be a right in a country like America. I have had to defer my doctoral program due to fear of incurring debt. It shouldn’t be! If the country could squander billions in Afghanistan why can’t education receive better funding and be made affordable?
@@edwardstevens6787 It's not about the degree; it's about the costs. I know someone who just had his debts forgiven. He studied geology, and got a job working for his state's EPA. He makes $15/hr. He's working as a school security officer--because those loans come due the day you turn the tassel. It's compound interest, and you can't get rid of them with bankruptcy. Lots of people criticize those who carried debt, but no one has a solution that works for today. "The average cost of attendance for a student living on campus at an in-state public 4-year institution is $27,146 per year or $108,584 over 4 years." Most young people won't be able to pay off 100k in debt in ten years--not even working 7 days a week. This is why most young people realize they won't ever own a home. It's why so many aren't having kids or getting married. With compound interest, these debts often grow faster than they pay them down. Why is it okay to allow our younger generations to struggle financially? Deny them debt relief, and we'll STILL be paying for them--just not for their success. We'll be paying for their failures: SNAP benefits, Section 8 housing, Welfare, WIC, Medicaid, and even incarceration. Give 'em a hand up, and we won't be stepping over them sleeping on the sidewalks,

i've said this to a couple of other people, but the reason that inflation is so bad is because biden has been acting pretty fiscally conservative by doing things like not going after some of the major culprits of inflation, that being corporations who have been artificially raising the prices of things. High inflation was caused by: 1. Tarriffs from Trump. 2. Supply chain disruption. 3. Corporate greed selling everything at a higher price. 4. Corporate consolidation leading to no competition and higher prices. Biden has inflation fallen by 60% and core inflation is at its lowest level in two years.

And Sean Hannity will leave out the part that everyone paying attention knew it would happen. He'll tell everyone that Biden "raised" taxes, and millions of people with short attention spans will believe him.
Sure, but they'll just blame Biden for it. Or at least try to. That schedule was planned with the expectation that Trump would serve two terms and then there would be a flip, as that's by far the most common scenario when it comes to presidential elections in the US. Ideally (by their reckoning), they could ride out the wave of "low taxes" and have the spike hit just long enough after a Democrat takes office that they could "plausibly" lie about why there's a sudden tax increase. Trump's failure in 2020 kind of screwed that plan up. It'd still work if Biden retains the presidency (might even work better as there's a larger time frame to lie about) but if Trump wins they're going to have that much harder of a time. They'll still try to blame Biden of course, but the timing they chose for the purposes of a "plausible" lie goes both ways - Trump will have been in office long enough that the lie will be harder to push. Of course Trump's got a saving grace on that front - he's likely to make everything else so terrible that a tax increase is the least of peoples' problems.
@@helendropinski3754 > keep those tax cuts for everyday Americans! He's not running for reelection so why would he care about your vote? There's enough sycophants on Fox and at his rallies to keep his ego boosted so what's in it for him? And it's not like he's ever shown any proclivity at all for doing things that aren't purely for his own benefit. 2) He doesn't leave office when his term expires. In this case he's already destroyed any semblance of American democracy anyway so again, why would he care about your vote? The only way this "works" is if he can tie the extension to an even bigger tax cut for the rich than he gave them in 2017. Probably need at least another $3-4tn added to the deficit this time. Um, 20% inflation in the last 3 years is a good indicator of poor economic leadership, only stupid, delusional people will think otherwise. Name one thing that was bad/wrong with the economy under Trump. Joe Biden repeatedly says that he "inherited" 9% inflation. That's false. Inflation was 1.4% in 2020/21. How's that "Inflation Reduction Act" working out for us? Was that Trump, or Democrats who championed that? Even Janet Yellen herself, in sworn testimony in congress said, "the IRA does little to lower inflation." Go take a look at how much the national debt has increased in these Biden years, and take a look at the trillions in budget deficit championed by Democrats, then tell me whose leadership is responsible for the current dump economy we have now.
In Obama's first year in office, my mother-in-law proclaimed "he's spending us into oblivion - look at national debt!" I responded, "you weren't upset at the first $9 trillion run up under Republicans. Why does the tenth trillion concern you when we're in the midst of the worst crisis since the Great Depression?" She had no answer...and yes, she watched only Fox News!

They throw money at the DOD with zero oversight. Read about the time we ***paid $52,000 each for TRASH CANS.*** For half of the country, that's more than you make in an entire year! For ONE trash can! We pay ***$777 billion each year to health insurance companies. And they RAISE PRICES AND DENY US COVERAGE ANYWAY!*** Republicans blame Democrats for "spending too much" but they don't want to ACTUALLY reduce spending on ACTUAL wasteful spending on giant corporations... just working people. Democrats don't ever seem to want to cut spending, because they're ALSO in the pockets of giant corporations. Neither side really wants to ACTUALLY tax the rich, which even 60% OF REPUBLICANS want. We CAN cut spending.... and we can raise revenue... and we can do it without hurting working people. But we HAVE TO STOP LISTENING TO THE LIES OF THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM! They are both BOUGHT by corporations.
Why the non-sequitur? You can (and depressingly many do) build a terrible nation with far less than "trillions" in any of those categories, and you can likewise build a good nation despite them. It's not about how much you've got, it's about how you use it. Reagan's choice for how to use it was taking as much as possible from the middle class and giving it to the already-wealthy, and nobody with enough power to do so has bothered to choose differently in the four decades since.

However, with the moods and prejudices of so many right-wingers being allowed to surface, Trump can - and will be - replaced, but fools like "Speaker" Johnson are in the wings, ready to go. Just look at the sycophants that lined up outside the recent trial to kiss his, uh, boots, and hope for a blessing.
My bank account was doing much better under President Trump! I got a nice decrease in my taxes, we had lower fuel prices, lower inflation, southern border security, and NATO members were being told to ante up their share. As soon as Biden got in the white house it all came crashing down. Trump 2024 for a strong prosperous America!!!
lol you're probably decked out head to toe in MAGA merch and donated thousands to Trump's legal defense funds but can't understand why you have no money

@jamesheath5825 this video is made by a paid propaganda shill yet so many of commenters are absolutely clueless that they are being blatantly lied to.
I Truly Hope Any Trump/GOP Supporters/Voters That Come Across This Upload Watch it (Not That Many of Them Probably Even Have Bank Accounts or if So Probably Not Much Money in Them)
Health insurance premiums are already going up double digits. Last year we were at $2,053 per month. This year it went to $2,422. That's 18% increase in 1 yr. I'm not sure it will matter who is in office.
@user-sr8lf5um8p You are correct in the sense that the president can only do so much. That's why it's so important to vote the entire ballot and pay attention to all political races, not just POTUS. Also, remember that your local and state politicians are your "farm team." They are the ones most likely to advance to running for the "majors" (Congress and POTUS), so pay attention to and VOTE in your local/state elections.
Odd because here in California, my health insurance premiums went down. I know some friends who had theirs go up, but by 4%, not 20%. What state are you in?
@@BoydDaniels-j3g Yeah it looks like you're right, they were higher in Washington. Not sure why there's such a disparity. Might be threat of single-payer we keep brining up but never do.
Yep, corporate Dems are only slightly better on healthcare than Republicans. Very few politicians are interested in controlling healthcare costs. They are good at coming up with excuses why the system "can't" be made better.
Last time I checked progressives' idea that SS should be means tested amounts to cutting a benefit I've paid into as well. What's the difference exactly?
5 facts you need to know about Trumponomics 0:12 1. Tax cuts for the rich 0:45 2. Cuts to Social Security and Medicare 1:19 3. More junk fees 2:08 4. Soaring healthcare costs 2:50 5. No student debt relief
I'll add a couple more, straight from Project 2025, section on changes to the IRS, in American Fascist double-speak. 1. A REGRESSIVE tax structure will be created in which persons living at, near or under the poverty line will pay the same rate as someone who makes much more, i.e., there will be only 5 or 10 % rates. 2. Social Security, which is fixed, will be taxed at the same rate as wages, even though MILLIONS of Social Security recipients live below the poverty line. 3. ALL tax credits, including the Child Tax Credit, will be eliminated. 4. And, if enough revenue is not able to be generated with this tax structure, a 10% Federal sales tax may be implemented. Remembering that both the vast majority of wage earners and most Social Security recipients live paycheck to paycheck, does that libertarian-inspired policy seem like an intelligent way to increase spending to stimulate the economy? Tax to death the millions of people who can least afford it to the point that they cannot buy anything except absolute necessities? IMO this smacks of conservative voodoo economics created by wealthy people for the benefit of equally wealthy people.
Where do you think the oil companies are going to get the BILLION that Trump "suggested" they donate? From you, the driver, the user of delivery services, the recipient of transport of goods for basic living.
All the people will cry out at the Great Worldwide Re-Set on 09/23/26, "No more war. Forgive our debts. Save us from Omega. We will do Anything!" That's when THEY unveil the NEON GAUD -- their Light Bearer -- the abomination of desolation. God as machine. Men and women will never lie, cheat, steal, or murder again -- so help us GAUD. You Will Be Happy. Resistance is fatal.
I support Trump. His tax cut for the "rich" raised the standard deduction to $25,000 for EVERYONE. That means about $10,000 additional of your income was excluded from taxation. That probably put $2000 in your pocket, EACH YEAR, and will, until the cuts are allowed to expire.
We need student debt and education expense reform not forgiveness. Forgiveness comes across as cheating those of us who didn’t get into that type of debt, even though we have plenty of other debts with no forgiveness insight.
@@VincentDavito yeah look at his record record record stock market record jobs record infrastructure investment. Yeah let's go back to the guy that wants to be a dictator.. What could go wrong right
@@bailey78 You are so dead wrong, Record jobs? Um, no that was people going back to their old jobs they had before. You think Trump wants to be a dictator? So you bought into that lie by the Dems? Take a LONG LOOK at joe's time in DC, What bill has he ever wrote and passed in the 40 + years he has been there? What bill, give me just one! The only reason why joe is in the WH is because he is a yes man, even Obumma said give joe enough time and he will F it all up! joe was only in office because he was that yes man to what ever the dems said and come time to sign a bill the dems wanted, joe as stupid as he is would sign it without question. You have to lie to yourself saying you are better off today then you were under Trump, I farm for a living and under you dems, I'm not far from walking away and I have farmed for 60 years! You have no clue what you are posting about, if I'm lying try this, compare your bills today to the ones under Trump and tell me who was the better president?
@@bailey78 I see my last post to you was removed, not surprising. Look at joe's record inflation at 40 %, yep, I see how great he is doing with $3.59 a gallon of gas and the food prices, yes, joe is great at looking up.
@@VincentDavito Why are you blaming the president for corporate greed ? Look at the stock market and corporate profits at record highs. Gas prices are high because that what they can get for it. Again look at the record profits of the oil and gas industry. You are either willfully ignorant or just conned by the don.
Well, 20% inflation of our currency in just 3 years is a shadow tax on all of us. Is your home and car insurance more or less in the last 3 years? Are building and mechanic labor and those material costs more or less in the last 3 years? Are fuel and energy costs more or less in the last 3 years? 22oz cans of Arizona and Peace tea have been 99¢ for the last 20 years. Now they're at least 50% more. Is that a consequence of tax cuts, or poor economic leadership? Name one fast food restaurant that still has anything on its dollar menu that's only $1.
PLEASE, for the love of all that is sane and rational Mr. Reich, make a video that talks about CA, its problems, and Gov. Newsom. As a resident of CA, I am fed up of the insane amount of criticism directed towards the state and Newsom, with *NOTHING CONSTRUCTIVE*, just shit-talking about anything and everything not red.
Yep. He was only starting 2016-2020. He would have kept going were it not for being voted the hell out. and his poor maga fans will suffer too, while blaming the dems, cause that’s who they’re told to blame, never the gop’s fault, ever
I think we should do what Ecuador did, establish an entire public university system FREE at point of use, comes out of taxes. They still allow private schools to exist, but they don't receive government funding. They were able to greatly improve their education system, and are really producing some excellentvwchikars
