I worked at a Taco Bell many years ago. I was very young and my manager was 17. One day, I accidentally knocked over a 4 lb tub of shredded cheese. I expected to have to pay for the cheese. The manager took a broom, swept up the cheese from the floor and put it back into the tub. Then he added more cheese on top of it. I quit immediately because I wasn't about to serve anyone 'floor cheese'.
janet lavergne my husband worked for another fast food/McBurger place when he was a teenager...he accidentally slopped some of the grease on the top of his desert boot. The manager came by and told him to slop it into the fries basket and use it.....he refused and didn’t return his next day of work. He quit.
No matter how hard you work and even give them great results. Its still not good enough. They want more outta ya. And days off? Forget it. If your good at the position you work. Then you can expect them to ask you to stay later and call you in on days off constantly. The managers seem to think thier job is to sit in office and yell at employees. I have 10 years tb experience. And about 3 years of that is MIC experience. I never just sat in the office. Always out on the battlefield with my platoon. Lol
I should truly make my own video! I agree with absolutely everything you said including my own experience as being MIC. Garbage company. Banned from the location for finally BREAKING after 3 years and leaving without completing my 2 weeks after giving my notice.
You’re unlucky my tb is ridiculously flexible with hours, we get ppl calling out like 30 minutes before their shift with no real consequences. But most of the ppl that call out aren’t really missed since they’re not usual strong employees our gm is VERY hands on tho lmao
my first job was Taco Bell and I regret it.. The general manager used to call me even when I had the days off to go to work , I’m a minor and I worked 7 hours straight without getting the mandatory 30 minutes break because they were “running out of personal”. They expect you to do all the work by yourself. Horrible experience working for this company.
Im 17 rn working at tacobell and I wish I could get more hours, this week im getting 27 and I need more, and even if I had to do everything wouldnt complain one bit, its what they pay me for isnt it? well guess its up to the person.
Taco Bell’s was one of my first jobs back in 1989. The meat did come in tubes, but all we did was simply put two in a pot and boiled it for a few minutes then drain the water and cut the plastic tubes open to dump the meat in it, the meat back then was way better than it is now. The environment was also quite different. Since our location was one of the only Taco Bell’s in the entire area, there would often be lines going out the door with customers. Sometimes they were fights, sometimes kids basically stayed in the dining room from the time school was over all the way until we were ready to close. If people worked out well, we would often get a $.25 raise every three months. As for a general manager making $100,000 a year, that is definitely news to me.
General Manager runs several different stores and Managers. I don't believe they get paid $100k but they definitely make decent money, but I don't think it's anywhere close to $100k
I work at taco bell everything in this video was dead on specially the drunk and high customers making up most of the base also the coworkers u work with will determine how fast you can go
My first job, and I’ll NEVER be able to go back. Management sucks, customers are either a laugh or a pain in the ass, and the atmosphere was akin to high school. My coworkers I liked and I joked we were at “TB High”. Pay was SHIT, and raises were IMPOSSIBLE no matter HOW good you are.
Also the pay depends on the company that owns taco bell because I didn't get a big raise even though I was the only person that stayed after people quit even managers
@@brokenmikki14 Next time call Taco Bell main offices and tell them about your situation. You can find their number on Google. This is what everyone should do, but I know kids are so young and inexperienced in life that it's never something they think about.
@@ThePeacePlant I wish I knew that. I was banned from the store for leaving without a 2 week notice(I think they were bitter, because they had never done this to anyone before, even under similar circumstances), so it made it very hard to get any information or resources. They payroll office wanted nothing to do with helping me. I had to get a friend to get me a handbook to make sure I was entitled to what I thought under the contract I had signed, and then I wrote to an attorney. I would have gotten a couple hundred dollars out of it, but by the end of it I decided to let it go, I was better off at my new job. I realized I was going through too much stress for Taco Bell after I had already decided to quit because of the stress. I did need the money for the few weeks between starting my new job, but I made it work, and let them be. There are a lot of hard feelings both ways apparently.
I'm 16. And I started working at my taco bell a couple of months ago all the employees are lazy. Only my GM is the best Gm ever. Chill and understanding. I'm not trying to sound like an asshole or a cocky person. Ever since I started working there, we have passed every inspection ( while I was there ), we get good reviews. I am the fastest worker, and I can do 2-4 peoples jobs at once. I am only 16 and I am the best employee they have, yet the other managers treat me like garbage. I take orders, I cash people out, I make the drinks, I get the sauces, and food, and help in the kitchen all at once. Yes it may seem crazy, but I have a very strong work ethic. Ever since I was young , I go all out. Since I am very good at what I do, they give me the latest and most difficult shifts . During the day and morning when It's not busy there are like 7-9 employees working at once. When it starts to get late at night, there are usually only me and 2 other employees. And the other 2 employees are the cooks.. I take orders, cash people out, and all that . I even go inside the kitchen to help while doing these other things at once because of all the constant orders/uber eats. They change my schedule to fit their needs because I am good at what I do. When I call off for a day, I get bashed for missing one day. Yet the other employees who have been working there for years, and are way older than me miss up to 2 weeks, and return as if nothing ever happened. I know it's probably they expect more of me because I am the top employee. But that doesn't mean just come after me. Even all the managers hate to admit that I am the hardest worker, but my GM tells me. He said he will never fire me, and if I ever decide to leave, he will have to hire 3-5 people to replace me. It's not the taco bell that makes it hard. It's the customers. I live in a very ghetto area which means every second of the day I have customers who are completely rude. In any fast food place in general you will be treated and overworked like an animal. Yet they fail to realize I am a minor. It's the employees and customers that make it a living hell. Not taco bell itself.
if anyone is planning to work here- shortest, easiest interview ever. just asked me why I wanted to work here. lunch rush was crazy and would end with food all over our floor and apron free meals and drinks every day hard tacos especially dorito locos are very fragile especially when you're trying to go fast
Local store has 5 employees left out of 22 from 12 months ago...3 are managers...2 are non promotable employees, 2 are non promotable shift managers..none have had a raise in 12 months...4 assistant managers have walked out in 30 days
Who in the hell is cutting flips in a Taco Bell establishment in REAL life? I am glad they're good with us stoners. Taco Bell has saved me PLENTY of nights since they stay open here to 2am. I miss the chives they use to put on the Nacho Supreme back in the 90s
Taco Bell was my first job; it was a terrible experience. My crew mocked customers behind their backs, and my manager treated new employees like scum. The training videos didn’t prepare me for the stress I would endure. I faced angry confrontations for things that weren’t explained in the first place (e.g., I got yelled at because I didn’t know where the contact list was- things like that), and I didn’t have time to ask questions. I felt useless and unwelcome. I quit after three weeks.
I was there for over 3 years as a "food champion" and our grill and frig was not working on one side on the line. They had us make all of the orders on one side. Drive-thru, dine-in, along with pick up orders (like Door Dash and Uber Eats) with only 2-3 people on the line. And they expected the same speed in production. This went on for over a month. It was complete hell. Never will I work there again after that.
As a teen in the early 90s. I worked at a grocery store and all of my friends in fast food. I never had to pay for lunch all through out HS. We always had a hookup. Got me fired my senior year of HS giving away free sandwiches 🥪
I just started today at the grand opening of a Taco Bell and since I worked at McDonald's five years I thought It would be easy. *It was not* idk if it was because of the grand opening but I was anxious as hell and I felt really lost and like I was useless. People would occasionally tell me what to do and they were really nice but most of the time I was frantic trying to figure out what I should do next. I hope it gets better tonight because I literally can't quit this job because out of like 50 applications this was the only job I heard back from. Please tell me this gets less miserable..
That’s why the beans suck, it’s powdered and mixed only with hot water. Back in the 80’s the beans were so much better because they were canned refried beans cooked with lard
It’s funny to hear from a US perspective about minimum wage jobs. In the U.K., you can expect to face heavy competition for practically all jobs, and not having the right qualifications or even experience will mean you won’t be able to get a job with the likes of Taco Bell.
I’ve seen managers mess up customers food on purpose employees food on purpose because they don’t like them or they’re looking at them weirdI’ve seen managers if they get asked to put extra sauce drowned it in sauce and so they don’t order it like that again I’ve had managers skip food on people actually it’s a thing like if we’re running low on things to like cut down a portion size And cut it with water
i was hired in the span of 3 days. Literally applied, got an interview the next day, and was sent the onboarding emails the next. No training or anything. I REALLY want to quit but i need something lined up first. It was a bad sign from the start
I worked there for 4 months and management was the worst. People would call out like constant and I always had to cover them. I also had to wait for late coworkers to get there so I would be there way past my time to leave. They wanted me as a manager but I always declined because I couldn’t see myself like that at all. I hated being there not because of the customers (I worked in front of my old high school so I would see many familiar faces) but because of the environment. The only good thing was that I made money and got free food when the main manager wasn’t there.
You can go inside to order for takeout. You just can't sit there and eat. The dining area is closed off in most stores still under covid19 restrictions.
I'm an old school taco bell employee. 1987 to 1991. From burgundy polyester to the gray khaki pants and t-shirt. We started cooking and preparing like you did at home. Logs of ground beef cooked in a skillet. Bags of beans cooked in a pressure cooker. Chopping and shredding the veggies and cheese. These 2000 employees...unpack bags...open heat and boil. Nothing is fresh as we did it. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
All of these are comments are both funny and disgusting. Working in the fast food field just isn't for everyone. I know this cause I worked at Arbys for about a week and a half back in the 80's.
There are some things that you can still get close to, like the spicy chicken crunch wrap supreme. You can get a shredded chicken crunch wrap and ask for chipotle sauce. You will have to ask for extra shredded chicken, though, because Taco Bell has been putting less meat on all menu items.
High level of employee satisfaction?🤥😭🤣 2nd Family? I would rather be an orphan like Annie? 🤣🤣🤣 Work there 40 hrs for one week on drive-thru, prep table, or front counter and did give your personal analysis.🤔
My first job was Taco Bell, which followed by a few other fast food jobs. In the beginning depending on management, it can be a nice job. But the rush rush rush concept and rude customers drove me out. I thought I couldn’t get anything better than an entry level restaurant job. I found hotels are a better fit to me, midnights specifically. I’m by no means gloating but I make more than a Taco Bell manager to practically deal with 1000% less stuff to sit down.
Work is work that what it is and if its your first job ya wake up move. It not your patents telling you to do something. Its your boss and your getting paid what do you expect. Take that experience and grow from it. Love The Bell. Its a diffrent choice.
My high ass fell asleep in a drive through before. No idea how long I fell asleep. Fell asleep when there was 4 cars in front of me. Woke up there was none. No idea how I didn't let up on the brake and crash.
I work for a corporate own Taco bell and get paid $10.50 an hour but closers get paid more since it's more crazy at night time. Ive only been at this location for about 6 months but have previous experience since I worked at a franchise own store for about two years so for me this is easy money lol
You forgot the part where communication isn't their when you need it, theirs not enough transparency on situations, and theirs no training manager, theirs just gmas and gms, who unfortunately, aren't taking their time around new employees, and are only about the line. You're looked at as rude or demanding because you ask questions, while frustrated, because you cant get your answers, cause you're always relying on someone you have to wait on because they're only so focused on fucking LINE.
This was positive I enjoyed watching this video I just got hired on as a regular team member and I’m excited for my new job I worked about 70 jobs over my lifetime and I’m looking forward to keeping one for a very long time. I’ve had jobs from two years to three years I would really makes a difference is having a solid team and a very strong general manager and that general manager having a strong team as well I think I’ll do great here.
They will always find fools to work there, at a Taco Bell near me they always have a sign, now hiring, apply online, plus always new faces when I go inside.
Believe it or not, that’s probably better than making a salary because you don’t get overtime for making a salary but you get overtime for making a wage, and the average manager will probably be at their restaurant for over 60 hours a week
i guess that 20 buck an hour increase made it harder i applied to one that opening next week a week ago and still haven't had a call or anything lol application just says received lol
It sucks was treated like an outcast and tacobell food sucks moreless you get paid way below wages that looks depressingly.....and no they do not promote you they would rather keep you a slave give me a break
JESUS AND GOD LOOVVEESS YAAAALLL SOOO MUUCHH, DON’T BE SCARED OR ASHAMED TO TALK TO GOD ABOUT YOUR PROBLEMS OR ABOUT ANYTHING‼️HELL IS A REAL PLACE ! JESUS DIED SO YOU WON’T GO TO HELL ! GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVTH IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE!GOD LOVES YOU ,JESUS LOVES YOU ,I LOVE YOU!
There are really good managers who knows how to manage everything from the franchise to employees and customers. Also there are managers who run the franchise into the ground. As long as employees are happy then the employees make sure that the customers are happy also. If employees are very unhappy in their jobs then there will be a long list of unhappy customers.
I'm a taco bell employee. In all honesty it's a really amazing and fun place to work. Maybe it's just my store but all my managers are really cool and nice. Same with my co workers. On my first day I was no good on the food line so they threw me on the front register with only 7 minutes of train8ng. But I was allowed to ask all the questions I could have. And no one got mad at me. Even most customers were nice to me taking orders a bit slower on my first day. The hardest part for me is when people modify their orders a lot. And washing dishes can make your back hurt at the days end. But honestly I'm very happy and glad that taco bell is my very fast food job and I hope I last. It's a great place to work in my opinion and there's always something to keep you busy.
Another manager in local are my age (55) was employed for 20 years at same store...then fired for comments to younger employees...he is back..3rd different store in 12 months...due to complaints
