I really respect the unbiased take and honestly reviewing the Yeezys from your own perspective, giving your own insights whether it be praise or criticisms.
@@mericanignoranc3551 can we stop throwing the word narcissist around when we don’t know what it actually entail’s? (Unless you’re a healthcare professional ofc)
I know yepril is over, but I hope you'll take a look at the other Yeezy boots (the insulated and knit runner boot), they're really fascinatingly designed. And the knit runner boot claims to be more utilitarian as it's waterproof
Damn, I had hoped for the 500s! But I really enjoyed Yepril, you definitely gave me clarity about a lot of the drawbacks some Yeezys have and definitely stopped me from ever buying a Desert Boot If you ever consider making more of these me and my friends will be right here watching them!
I think it would be an interesting series to compare original shoes to high-end replicas/fakes. since you already cut most yeezys and jordans, i think videos cutting fakes of those will do very well
I work in my 380s at my RV job keeps wood and metal shavings out , breathable and comfy But I really wanna see the Nike air Yeezy internal since that’s where it all really started
You should consider cutting one of his Yeezy Season 4/5 Boots that werent done with Adidas Those are made in Italy afaik and they're built like traditional boots
I have several pairs of yeezy season 1, 3,4,6 & 7 boots only three of them from adidas. The suede is superb and the made in italy/spain ones I’ve had for 4-5 years and are tanks. The only damage i’ve had done to them are heel drag and some ripping in the nylon (heel tabs). But other than that the suede & leather uppers are superb. The season 4 & 5 boots are full leather, inside is leather and outside is suede. And the insole is leather aswell. Its fantastic and well built. The adidas versions feel much more like a sneaker than any of the others.
outsole is part of the molding process but molded separately. It is attached before the Direct injection is cured all the way and the shoe is still in the last/mold. It is made of TPU not rubber in order to get a solid bonding.
These are definitely _interesting,_ but so many "shoes" these days are just slippers or socks _glued_ to bits of foam, pleather and rubber. At premium prices. I'm sick of it.
I want the 500 review badly. They don’t beat the comfort of the original 350s but they have much more support. I’ve thrashed mine and they’re still doing very well.
@@martin8313 The videos are interesting but it feels like he uses the term "hype" sneakers meaning they need to durable enough to be working in like a coal mine. None of my hype shoes have worn out just like none of my work shoes have worn out either. Taking good care of them and realizing certain shoes are not hiking shoes is key.
@@thousandfootkrutchro Not sure how you got the impression that he thinks "hype" means durability. These durability tests are just test that he does on every shoe. He's breaks shoes down to see if the quality is worth the price, see how they're built, educational purposes, experimenting. He's not trying to shit on "hype" sneakers, he's not telling you not to buy them, those aren't his intention at all. Obviously he knows you aren't going to burn your shoes, wear them in a coal mine, hike in them, & kick cactuses with them. Lol
@@thousandfootkrutchro it's true, but paying the price people pay for hype-shoes you can get yourself a decent looking functional shoe and that's the problem of modern consumers. We're ready to toss out shit ton of money for a cool looking hyped item even if the materials and other qualities are mediocre at best. Like yeah, it doesn't need to be a hiking shoe, but if your lifestyle fabric shoe costs as much as a decent looking, good quality, durable working/performance shoe ... you're basically giving away money for having less comfort and having to buy a new shoe sooner than necessary.
Asphalt in Arizona in the peak of summer can get up to 180°F at the hottest times. Just an FYI. (Though there's this new asphalt/coating stuff there using that decreases that a little bit.)
You should cut apart the Red October Yeezys once you hit 500k. I think it would blow your channel up with sneaker head traffic just from the audacity....but it would probably not be super well received in the comments....AND they're hella expensive. An interesting experiment for sure.
Yet another great video! The thing I love most about this shoe is the simple construction. The same with the Slides and Foam RNNRS. One of Kanye's objectives as a designer is to create mass produced shoes with the least amount of components and experiments with more sustainable materials like algae. This is to make them more cost effective to produce in countries with better worker welfare standards.
@@briansanchez9899 More cost effective production and waste reduction rarely translates into a cheaper product unfortunately. Most of the time a more cost effective production method just means larger profit margins. Recouping initial costs for new methods and moulds is legitimate but that really doesn’t take too long. Time and market saturation is what will bring the price down. There will be a day you’ll be able to find Yeezy models on sale Nike currently have a Nike By You Air Max 97 where many of the options are recycled materials. They’ll run you £200 🤣 I just take the silver lining from the corporate storm cloud that at least waste is being reduced 🤷🏽♂️👊🏽
@@shinobi-no-bueno Yep, that's free market capitalism for you.... Somethings cost basically comes down to what people are willing to pay. Whether or not it's value for money is for the consumer to decide. 'Value for money' is relative to the individual making a purchase. Technically anything bought where the seller is making a profit isn't value for money for the consumer because they're not getting it a the cheapest base cost. The consumer can only 'FEEL' like they got good value for money with cleaver marketing
I use my 350’s as trail runners. Well... trail walkers. They used to be my go-to inventory day shoes when I worked for Starbucks. They make for fantastic airport shoes, too. These look harder to slip on, but they’re so fucking weird I think I’d love them.
That would be because they're f-cking hideous. The reason they only look good with sweatpants is because sweatpants are for staying indoors where no one can see you.
Minimum wage in Germany is about 10€, thereby MUCH higher than in southern/south-eastern asia. By the way, where is the shank? Everything needs a shank.
Once while I was on vacation in Vegas my ex girlfriend was wearing these coach shoes that kind of look like converse shoes and we were walking from MGM to Bellagio and she said a few times “I keep stepping in gum” lol. I noticed her shoes were melting from the pavement being 200 degrees plus lol. We had to stop at a underground Marshall’s store to buy her shoes cause she wouldn’t have made it to the Bellagio. Lol. It gets hot as fuck in Vegas.
Good ol high end garbage. All I hear about "high fashion" shoes are how miserable they are to wear. Balenciaga & similar clown shoes ppl buy for the name. Sad really.
When the yeezy season is over, you should start on Rick Owens next! Fashion nerds are dying to see how his couture platform kiss boots are made. And all of his other shoes and sneakers too…
I think comfort would improve with proper sizing. I went a full size up on these and wear mine without the insoles and they are great for all day wear. My foot is slightly on the wider side but I bought someone else a pair also at a full size up and they love them. Her foot is narrow and she refuses to do shoes that don't fit right that are too big or too tight or fit awkwardly and she loves these.
Great video but I think you should have elaborated that these were made in Germany, NOT the usual sweatshops in Asia. It’s really important when discussing the value of the shoes retail price. Keep up the good work!
But are the others made in sweatshops? They seam to be made in a pretty automated process. I've seen videos of the ultraboots being made (in Asia) and that very much wasn't a sweatshop.
I was inside a shoe store the other day looking to buy a pair of running shoes. It seems all the existing shoe designers were thrown in prison, and all the manufacturers now use the same designer. In 80s, 90s, and early 2000s shoes were so nicely designed, with lots of real leather. Now they are all that stretchy fabric which looks so cheap. Not a fan.
I think it would be really interesting if you cut in half like some restaurant worker shoes. It's so hard to find something durable enough to last working long days but at the same time something that won't kill your feet. I've resorted to buying Nike Tanjun every few months and just accepted the fact that anything with a "nonslip" sole is just gonna murder my feet
This man: *Buys shoe just to cut it up* *The Malaysian child who spent 2 hours making it:* “This has to be the worst trade deal in the history of trade deals. Maybe ever”
Crazy to see these shoes destroyed but it gives you a good idea of materials used. I think it's good quality but not for the price that we're paying. I really like Yeezy shoes but it is over priced.
*_The line of flashing is referred to IN THE INDUSTRY AS A "PARTING LINE" Just thought you like to know. All molds are two parts or more unless science figures out a way to remove parts through a straw lol 😆..._*
@@roberth4395 what 💀 but brother why not give it a try to appreciate unique things like this shoe, maybe if u try to like it u see why its cool, that's def growin up
Love your vids, always, but your hot asphalt test is flawed. On only an 85° day, asphalt can reach 140°. If it’s 100° outside, asphalt can easily reach 160°.
Ill never get a pair of these but its interesting to see them cut in half and very scientifically tested. Any plan on cutting the new Keen Roswell in half? Kinda reminds me of a Palladium Baggy but with the Keen ReGen midsole and a little bit of a toe cap of sorts.
loved this series! im a massive yeezy fan, so it was great getting this perspective, and your take about pushing the envelope was super interesting, and correct. i hope you'll take apart a 500 at some point!! out of my 4 pairs of yeezys, the 500 is definitely my favorite of the bunch
CAN YOU PLEASE DO THE YEEZY 380!!?? I suffer from flat feet and the 380 model legit saved my feet! I can walk for hours without being in pain now cause of that shoe, so I'd really love to see what it's made out of!!! Love your channel ❤️
You're also paying for years of development and the machines that adidas had to buy for them. That's why it took yearss for the shoe to come out from the first teaser
Yeah I find my 450’s pretty uncomfortable. Very firm under foot. Also kind of concerned with the longevity of the upper since it has to be stretched out every time you put the shoe on. Mine is definitely looser than when they were new. Probably need to sell mine.
You may have gotten the wrong size. My foot is somewhat on the wider side, I went a full size up and wear them without the insoles and they are great for all day wear and after a year of wear still look virtually new and haven't lost any elasticity. I obviously mileage may vary as every foot is different but I've had the same issue as you stated on other shoes and sizing down has always helped.
These are so dope man. Would love to see you do the Yeezy 500 low at some point (looking at the leather, comparing the suede and mesh to the Desert BT, etc. Also, many YZY enthusiasts debate the comfort of the adeprene+ midsole to the higher density Boost in the 700's. (would like to see your comparison)
Definitely should cut open the 380 or the QNTM. The 380 is the most comfortable yeezy by far in my opinion, and the QNTM is just very interesting being a high top and having many materials.
6:22 So... not at all suitable for Las Vegas then. The roads in Las Vegas get hotter than that. I should know, I once bought a new pair of Nike's back when I went to UNLV, only to leave a trail of melted shoe prints walking from the dorm to the auditorium.
When I'm buying shoes I want them to be comfortable, durable, and stylish. Really fun review - it's an odd looking shoe for sure, very cool that they're innovating shoe construction. But if it's not comfortable, I don't want it.
Payed 66 euros recently on the adidas F U Kanye sale and the second from the back claw hurts my ankle a lot. I like the looks though. Hope it softens in time
It would have been good to see a sole wear test maybe by rubbing it 100 times on a certain grit sandpaper to see how the bottom of the shoe holds up to wear,I have found some of these foam based soles on shoes don,t last very long at all and some seem to last alright. But it was a cool vid and very thorough, thankyou,I have,t seen any of these shoes yet over here,Best wishes to you, from, Auckland, New Zealand.
Got mine this week. They're extremely narrow (even going a full size up), don't get them if you have regular or wide feet. I only can wear whem with no insoles on. Also, hard to put on (no pull tabs)
