Parents, believe me when I say yelling at your kid as a means of discipline can really screw us up later in life. The only memories I have of my mom from when I was little are ones where she’s screaming and yelling at me for small things and ripping a brush through my hair telling me how bad I am. Therefore, even now that I’m a teenager, I can’t find it in myself to trust my mom. It’s hard to be around her. And she hasn’t stopped, either. She still exhibits those tendencies. I have absurdly low self-esteem. I can’t stand up for myself. I have horrible anxiety. I freak out when people raise their voice or get even a little frustrated with me. I know that yelling may seem so common and may seem like it’s working now, but it’s only making your child afraid of you. It’s really gonna mess them up in the long run, trust me. You decided to have a child, so treat them right, unlike my mom did/does.

Aria Norid you just described me To this day as an adult If someone shouts at me I freeze I remember I dated a girl who used to yell at me whenever I upset her and I would break down crying in front of her or be so afraid that I would just stop talking to her for days. I know exactly how you feel my mom yells at me when not needed... I'm home schooled and I can't do somthing right my mom yells at me or smacks me on my fourhead or when I make small mistakes she will make a big deal about it or times my mom will even say stuff meanly and yell even when there is nothing to yell or be angry about, I can never go at least a day without my mom yelling at me and sometimes I also get anxiety...My mom yelled at me 2 min ago so I came to watch this video to avoid the way I may act when my mom yells at me, sometime my mom makes me want to hurry and become an adult as well, I really hope all this yelling do not effect my feruter

Marlana Edwards I hear you Aria. I never could stand for anybody to yell at me either. I have been easy hearted for a long time. As a child, teenager, & as an adult. I'm 37 now and those easy feelings are still with me, but I am not a shame of it. I am proud to be sensitive. It certainly is a lot doggone better than being a monster. The easy hearted feelings runs in the family on my mother's side. My mom is very good & apologetic person. She never could stand to see anybody cry. Me either. I'm sorry about your mom. Don't forget that it's all in the past. It might still be hurting you, but still. Try to think about the good times of your childhood. Not the bad ones.

Don't yell at your children. They never asked to be born... and have no choice but to be around you. If you can't handle having children, don't have them. Live within your means... don't yell at kids in public. Be a roll model to your children. Their minds aren't fully formed, and anything they do "wrong" is a result of your parenting.. provide a healthy example.
@charlydatduclai7734

Gamer Voice So true, frustration is never ever an excuse for abuse, there is no room for abuse. Yelling can be damaging to the children’s brains, this is why there needs to a law for adults who want to have children that also have history of abuse in the past, that way we can prevent abuse in the future. Their background history must be checked first.

I feel like people have kids because it's an expectation from their parents. They end up having kids first and then Yolo parenting. It'd be great to include communication curriculum in elementary so that they can communicate effectively rather than as adults make mistakes bc of miscommunication. Parents have to learn how to communicate to their children effectively rather than just yelling. Children learn better when parents are patience, direct, and consistent, and also show grace.

It saddens me so much reading the comments on this video. No child deserves to be yelled at. We have a generations of parents passing down the legacies that were done to them. Its time to stop the cycle and support parents to parent better.

sadly the last generation couldnt resolve their mental and emotional issues so they passed it down to us and i think its better to close the chapter and delay having kids until massive healing is done so the cruel cycle ends.

*My mom yells at me* *expects me not to cry about it* *when I start crying she thinks she I can just tell me to stop and I’ll stop* *she yells at me even more tell me how I’m such an emotional person* *she compares me to others, telling me why can’t you be like him, or why can’t you think like her, why can you control yourself* *she always tells me how bad I am* Now Thanks To That, I get High anxiety when there’s the slightest but of yelling If I’m under pressure by brain shuts off If I’m near the person I get compared to I start getting a grudge towards them, and try to avoid them I never think I’m good enough I have low self esteem If someone yells at my uncontrollable tears start running down my face Sometimes I feel like I want to lock myself away from this world Sometimes when it’s all nice and quiet I still hear my mom yelling at me in my mind I feel judged around everyone I always apologize of why I do this or do that I trip over my words as if I was speaking while crying (you know that stuttery feeling, I guess) I can’t stand up for myself I’m always dragged around by everyone Trying to live up to my mom expectations I try not talk to avoid people talking back to me (cause I’m scared they’ll judge how I talk *But Parents Down Understand Sometimes, The Reason I Cant Be More Like Him Or As Smart As Her* *Is Because I’m NOT Her I’m Myself I Do Things Differently Just Like Everyone* *I Have My UPS and My DOWNS My Rights and my Wrongs I Can’t Do Everything She Wants Me To Do* *Im Sick Of Constantly Being Scared So From Now On I’ll Try And Figure Out A Way To Control My Tears, and Control My Fears* *Usually I’d Feel Uncomfortable Writing even a Public RU-vidr comment But Now I Don’t Care If People Judge me On my spelling my grammar and my point of view cause we are all different in our own special way*

Honestly I think I have become a little irritable in general and that’s rubbing off on him. I did yell at him past week. Came across this video. Read your comment and I will better myself. Thank you for sharing this. Thank you for making me look at the other side. Thank you for making me realize how helpless my child prolly feels when the only person who should be loving him unconditionally is yelling at him and getting mad. Thank you. I cannot do much for you now. I can hope you find peace. Guess what there will be a kind of love that will heal you. Not the love you wanted maybe but the one you deserved. All the very best.

My dad yells at me when I'm in a upset state. The most recent happened today. I was looking for my quilt and I couldn't find it. Also, this quilt was VERY special to me, it was made by my great great grandma that passed away 4 months ago and that's the only thing I have to remember her. I asked my dad to help because I started getting anxious. Soon, I have up and sat on my bed. My dad was looking for it in my room and started yelling at me for no reason saying that it's my fault. Sometimes parents just need to learn how to take care of their sad 9 year old child that just finished 4th grade and only has 2 friends and they are both out of reach.

Throughout my life was all just yelling.. My mom and dad always yell when so thing they want is not going the way they want it to. This later led me into depression, I wished I was dead, I always locked my self in my room, and I would cry every night. I tried talking to someone but nothing helped. My parents are trying to erase the past like nothing ever happend, because my father was always yelling. I wish I could tell them how I feel, but I'm scared how they would react to me talking to a person about what happened... I still question this to myself... "Why do they want me here if all they ever do is yell at me and my siblings.. I'm better of dead than alive." I still wonder how I'm going to confront my parents about this... I still cry.. I feel like I'm alone all isolated in a box..trying to escape the darkness... But in reality I smile.. I his the fact that I cry.. What will I ever do to tell my parents about this...?

First of, God knows your pain. He knows how you feel. And He loves you very much. You are not an accident. So much that He was willing to come down from heaven, become a human named Jesus, and take the punishment for your sins. We are all sinners. Me, you, your parents. Thats why there is so much pain and fighting in this world. However, if you believe that Jesus came down from heaven, died on the cross and was resurrected,...if you confess with your mouth and believe in your heart in Jesus Christ then you will be saved and forgiven... You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. I encourage you, if you feel lost and dont know what to do, invite Jesus into your life and then ask him what you should do. Your parents need to know how you feel. You're young. You have much life ahead of you, and one of the most important things you must learn is how to communicate your feelings. Dont let your feelings eat you up inside. It will be hard but if you open up, then you will feel more relieved. Perhaps try writing a letter to them?

The way we react to a child’s behavior says a lot about who we are as adults. A child is a tiny, defense and very impressionable being. When they piss us off, we have the option to react violently because they are defenseless. If they were another adult we would be much more measured in our reaction. If your first impulse is to go straight to yelling and violence, you are no more in control than the child.

And pls don't be mad at us for having bad grades . We will have even more pressure and hate ourselves for who we are . Pressure often causes depressions. Yes , your child might be depressed . I have a good life, and I'm grateful for that. But being yelled and cursed at wasn't/isn't good for me, or for anyone. I wish parents would stop thinking that it's the right thing to do. That's my parents as well, and unfortunately I learned from childhood to protect and defend myself by lashing out back at them and anyone else who crossed me, and now as an adult I suck at confrontations and only know anger as my fallback for everything. And unfortunately my oldest gets the brunt of it. I'm working on changing that but I lash out and yell viciously and I hate myself afterward. But yeah, I hear ya. I don't ever remember a time when my parents DIDN'T fight. They should have divorced a looooooooong time ago but never did, and to this day they fight non-stop about the tiniest little things. It sucks. :(

As a kid my dad would constantly yell at me, hit me for dumb reasons, and call me a crybaby. I was terrified of him for years. My mom said when I was a baby, I had stomach issues so I would cry a lot because of the pain, and because of that he would yell at me. As a younger kid, I would have breakdowns in my room and beg God for a better dad. When I grew older the fear eventually turned to extreme anger and now I genuinely hate my father. I know he's not the worst dad a person could have, but the feeling of helplessness I feel when speaking to him even normally is exhausting and I just can't take it anymore. He will use anything you say against you and will do whatever it takes to make you feel like you're in the wrong. He recently cheated on my mom and when she was about to get a divorce, he tried to convince her that what he did wasn't that bad. I can tell my mom is really struggling with what to do. I just want this man out of my life and I thankfully only have a year or two before that can happen.

Choose a little tune that you can instinctively recall and you can freestyle or prepare little rhymes for instances that have commonly been a challenge for you all. Example: *(Tune of "Mary Had A Little Lamb") *It's time to put your shoes on now Shoes on now, shoes on now It's time to put your shoes on now One foot at a time.* Or: "Speak to me with a quiet voice so I can hear your words." and you can do the same as part of your technique for letting some air out of that frustration balloon: " *I'M* going to use a quiet voice So you can hear my words." Experiment and learn what is helpful for you and *your* family. Find your *Groove*. ❤🎵

I got Yelled at for something I didn't know. And Then I usually get yelled at for not doing the dishes. My mom says I'm lazy but every day she just sits or lays around the house talking to her friends. I play with my dogs and then she also says I'm on my phone too much when she's on hers 24/7. Its Really Annoying. Then They wonder why I'm shy and can't talk to people. Then She calls me things Like A Screw Up or whatever and then says she loves me. My dad is Fine. My Mom Is another story. Then This leads me to not smiling. I don't even smile anymore,At school I look so happy.. And then I heard my teachers talking They said I wonder what they do to her. I don't smile or laugh in the classroom either. I wish I was dead and tried to run away but I knew I would miss out on life. Then I tried to cut myself but that didn't work. I even joke to my friends when they call me.. well they think I'm joking by holding a knife to my throat. And Poking myself with it too. I wanna die but I'm living an OK life. I even cry when they yell at me but they still continue. I wanna move but I have no one to go to.

Children, when your parents yell at you like this: It’s a sign that they “don’t” love you. So “never, NEVER” forgive your parents for yelling. They’re liars!😡😤

My step-dad used to yell at me at a very young age like....6 or something. He still mostly does today but ive gotten away from him luckily. But the fact that he did that has made me hateful and i yell at my 7 year old cousin sometimes....parents, yelling at your kids may make them behave but later in life we just get hateful. I am living proof of this...it will either make the child hateful, depressed, or both later in life so please shut up

My dad used to yell at me a lot which wouldnt have been that bad. The only issue is that he would yell at my (ex) step siblings even more! And frequently for no good reason. They did have a lot of behavioral problems when the were younger but they 100 percent grew out of them and he acted a if they hadn’t . That really ruined my opinion of him and broke out bond entirely. Honestly, unless he admits all his wrongs it’s going to be hard to forgive him. So to all parents I warn you, don’t yell at your kids and listen to their opinions if you really care!!

Parents believe that yelling and aggressively shouting at your kids is the best way to raise them, especially when they tell you to do something and you make a mistake then they try to insult your mental abilities, they call you a fool and say you don't have common sense all of that. And this is one of the many reasons why when kids grow up and get depressed ,they try to take their lives, for example this year in Ghana a university student tried to jump from the 1st floor of a tall building to take his life because he was going through depression. So so sad parents need to listen to advice.

I just wish instead of telling us what not to do we could get some solid examples of what to do in different scenarios. I know yelling isn’t good, but when my three year old screams cause he thinks it’s funny for the tenth time in a row of me politely asking him, getting down at his eye level and explaining why it’s not okay, and he agrees then immediately does it again…it’s kind of hard not to lose it. And when I yell the behavior actually stops. I don’t want to yell but I want parenting advice that actually works. Especially as a single, full time working mom with very little time outside of work with my kid that isn’t spent cleaning, cooking or doing errands. It absolutely sucks and I’m burnt out and never, never never have anyone pouring into my cup. I know what a huge difference it makes and I see my bond with kid being eroded because all that’s ever happening is he’s getting yelled at.

My dad would yell at me before physically punishing me for the stupidest things. I knew deep down that it wasn't me but his sense of frustration with life that drove his anger. I was an easy target. Even now if I hear raised voices I react as if I'm under threat , raised pulse rate, dry mouth etc, even if the shouting has nothing to do with me. It's a pavlov's dog reaction.

My mom does much more then scream...she puts soap in me and my sisters mouth when we are bad...one time I was on a computer and I couldn't get a question right so she yelled at me took away my tablet put soap in my mouth turnd off the lights and took away the TV and went in MY room...like dang you don't have enough respect for your children that you have a low self estimate so you take it out on your kid? That's not our fault! We did not ask to be born! We did not ask for you to yell at us! When we try to tell you you don't listen! It's like you don't care! If you didn't want to have children you didn't have to! Yet we still have to listen to you! And when we try to tell her it's like she goes Mute! She always talks about us talking back but that's what a voice is meant for! And that's how a conversation works! If we have to show you respect the you should she us that! When me and my sister come home we're quiet as a mouse and yet she still finds a reason to yell at us! I would be reading a book and she would come into my room and say where's your homework? Sometimes the teachers don't get around to me so I don't get it and my mom thinks it's my fault for not having it! For God's sake would parents just shut up for once!? Parents have anger issues and they always when you get grown and on your own this and that we know this stuff! Stop yelling at your children! Milestones is coming up for us next week! She's putting so much pressure on me! And now I'm doubting that I'll pass! Your really gonna yell at a nine year old who is preparing to finish 4th grade? Wow that's so nice of you...parents I have one word with you...stop yelling at your kids! And stop putting so much pressure on them! It's not helping!

Um my mom and dad both were alcoholics fought all the time in front of me yelled at me all the time hello there was a time my mom got drunk and kicked me out then called the police and said that I ran away. My mother has been so mad at me once she told me I was a mistake I am 33 years old and that sticks with me it hurts like hell when I think about it but at the end of the day I strive to be better than what my mother and my father both were I have two kids of my own yes I do yell at them they're great kids they're well-mannered they good good grades basically what I'm saying is it doesn't always break you the ones it breaks are the ones that are weak but if you're strong enough look at everything you've been through and turn it around and make it positive for yourself meaning everything my mom had ever said to me that hurt me makes me strive to be better than she ever was...
