I cannot remember the magazine but Pras explained this years ago. He talked about forming the Fugees. He had one law. Don't touch the girl. Wyclef broke the law. Wyclef explained his transgressions on the Carnival - "To All the Girls". He underestimated Lauryn's talent and beauty. He also arrogantly explained in a magazine of how he taught Lauryn to rap. You said, at the time her solo album was projected at 3 million and this dude did not know. She did like 5 million and then beyond without him. Wyclef is a control freak and wanted to bottle her. Lauryn just transcends artistically in all facets. She has a vision. Wyclef lost a fine island girl and LOST ONE great Ms. Hill. I knew he was bitter but I'm sure he has rebounded. Wyclef is too self-centered. Also Pras is a supreme businessman and underrated artist in comparison. Now do the Truth behind Ms. Hill and the industry.
Clef is a #Libra sun, yet, he must have #Leo, #Aries, some kind of fire somewhere...being that self-centered, NOT to see a great future had he treated L right. #Fugees
Clef was / is a control freak which on the positive moved the Fugees forward, on the negative narrowed his vision for Lauryn nad the group. But Lauryn messed up stealing credit from her producers New Jerz & Che.
That's right Lauryn leave they lying asses alone. The "hips don't lie song" never fitted Lauryn Hill her spiritual lyrics are deeper and relevant glad she passed it Shakira needed it. LMAO
'The Score' actually transcended Hip Hop.. to a certain extent because i knew ppl that didn't even like Hip Hop that bumped that shit religiously... Lauryn has one of THE most powerful voices imaginable and it's a damn shame they split up.. because i , for one , would love to hear another Fugees joint
No diss... but Fergie gotta know that her talent could never compare with #MsHill's ...not in 3, 4 lifetimes. The only trio of that gender make-up: two guys & a gal, that may come a little close? #DigablePlanets
A that was dope I always liked the Fugees. I was talking to my homeboy and I was like " I wonder if Karceno got any story's on 80's singers" like the truth behind Rick James or the truth behind Bobby Brown meeting Whitney Houston. That would be dope because I know a lot of those 80's singers were wilding out on cocaine lol
I've been asked him for those for almost a year. A truth behind R&B Beef's. Not today's R&B but going back to the 80's/early 90's. All the breakups, physical fights, drugs, women etc... It would be crazy.
What's crazy is I remember back in 05 or 06 Verizon had some prmotion going where if you joined you would get a free download of a NEW Fugee track. And the album was coming soon. Year's later Wyclef claimed they had studio session's booked a month in advance and Lauryn would never show up or would show up after Clef and Pras were long gone.
Wyclef from what I heard about him is an egotistical maniac but not on a Puffy or Usher level. People told me about dude from way back when but I know he got them their deal when he jumped and performed on that table and got those record execs attention at that audition
About the other girl who was in the group originally, Pras said in a recent VladTV interview that she gave him the ultimatum that if the group did not get a record deal by the time they graduated high school, she would leave and go to college. That ended up being the case, so not sure if your version of that situation is accurate or not.
Thank u, thank u, thank u, 4 clearing this up!!! I've watched several Wyclef interviews, & still had absolutely no understanding about how all of that went down! Listening 2 Wyclef talk, is like watching a Shakespearean play, all metaphors & similies!
THANK YOU KARCENO $ FOR LIFE!! This one is classic and you listen my and other cats requests for the Fuggees story. Most props and saltes to you Karceno For Life.
I remember boof bap their first joint. The first album was so so but more than made up for it with The Score. I'll never forget the wyclef skit "Eww a Haitian!!!" lol
Yeah i remember her Fugee Melt Down.....she was acting very odd....First they try to say she lost it because what Rohan Marley cheating on her and they wasnt communicating. Then some say The Industry was trying to turn Lauryn into a more Sexer singer....another words have her capitalize on sexuality and she wasn't with it......Others might say she was conflicted with her morals and the secret affair she had with Wyclef.....it was eating her inside ......who really knows why she fell off. But we all live Lauryn and maybe she just need to take a long hiatus to retrospect her life and what she wants. If its a true god sent then she come back out....but dont hold your breath with that one.....
".....send me an angel in the morning, baby....send me an angel in the morning, darling...send me Muhammad in the morning, baby..." Was just reading up on this over the weekend
do The truth behind 2pac "holla at me" song off All Eyez On Me. i always wondered who the song was abt. people swear they know who the song is abt, but i would like to hear your side of who it really was.
L wrote her rhymes.....he used to help her in the beginning during the first album...do your research...her best rhymes ever were on the score and if you read you'll find out Wyclef and Lauryn were battling for the best verses on the whole album. Listen to her newer material and you'll see that her rhymes now are even on a whole new advanced level that no guy or girl could come close to.There is an interview out there when he speaks of helping her with her early rhymes then she became super advanced and surpassed him lyrically. So L does write ALL of her rhymes. Peace
That's why that production team won that law suit against her for the Misseducation of Lauren Hill for royalities and points bcuz they wrote half of that shit for her
No Lauryn Hill wrote and produced every song on her solo album (16 songs). Only three songs from the album were co-wrote, and two songs were co-produced. On The Score, The Fugees wrote and produced every song but they had guest rappers and guest producers that added their own bits.
L wrote her rhymes.....He used to help her back in '93 '94 when she first started rhyming....I'm so tired of defending her against the folk who believe every lie they read....And ask yourself.....even if she did not write her rhymes? there is honestly no voice or delivery that can come close and you know it ....that's why you're here. Peace
