I been telling niggas if queensbridge come together and stop beefing and unify we could be unstoppable force and every N.Y. hood from Brooklyn and queens I wish N.Y. could all be untied and come together and put down street beefs and BOSS UP on niggas N.Y. could be powerful as hell
Cormega is a rapper who is constantly slept on, and sadly so, because he can flow better than many mainstream emcees. His solid, straight up delivery is very good to listen to.
Cormega should be an all time great. I mean the guy should be getting white people awards. Like a literature award. It’s really good poetry and delivered effortlessly. I became a fan after Born and Raised. I was a Nas fan before that album and up until that point i didn’t even care of Mega.
I always felt Jay was grasping at straws when that whole "Ether v. Takeover beef came to fruition. That "Lex and TV sets the minimum" line was just a line. Jay tried to make it about him. Jay needed to realize people wasn't really thinking about him on that level till around Vol. 2! It wasn't until B.I.G. passed Jay started really going for the gusto. In 96 it was all about NaS and B.I.G. in the East and Pac in the West!
Nas explains how Jay-Z inspired this line in an interview with Complex: “I saw Jay-Z driving a Lexus with the TVs in them. I got rid of my Lexus at that point and I was looking for the next best thing. It wasn’t a shot at Jay but it was just saying that’s the minimum you gotta have. It’s not a shot at him but he inspired that line. It wasn’t necessarily a shot at him but because the song was a shot at everybody, he fell into that. But he definitely inspired that line
I tell you what, if Sony/Columbia didn't have the wisdom to NOT release "If I Ruled The World" as a single, "It Was Written" wouldn't have sold half the copies that it ended up selling. I was in the retail world at the time, and I saw everyone who couldn't get the single buy the album.
Nas is embracing AZ with his right hand, because that was his real right hand man, and Az is just putting up the peace sign, while Cormega stands alone. Some will think I'm reaching, but body language speaks volumes.
That’s facts bro and nas and az just messed well from the beginning and became brother I met a guy like that in 2008. Same height same stature and same persona. We clicked automatic and we still locked 🔒 in til this day and the ironic crazy thing is. Az is my favorite rapper and nas is his. You can’t tell me that ain’t crazy lol 😂
One thing you messed up on Karceno is when you said Nas started attaching himself to all those guys like Lakey the Kid and others. Nas has had a connection with Lakey the kidd and others before he got famous and even gives Lakey a shout out on Illmatic.
Mega was not kicked out of the Firm because of not giving Stout some money on his deal, that don't even make sense. Mega said it himself "I was out the Firm, unless I sign a production deal, which I didn't do cause son that wasn't real" and then on ForbezDVD they interviewed Mega and he expanded on that line sayin Trackmasters wanted Mega to sign a production deal meaning they would get paid to be in house producers for Mega just like they already were for Nas, AZ, & Foxy. Mega wasn't a big fan of their style so he declined, Stout kicked him out the group because he wouldn't sign the paperwork, by the time Nas found this out Mega was already heated and in a rampage. Again good videos but you sometimes state inaccurate info like it's a fact.
Mega said he got kicked out the group because he wouldn't sign a production deal. Also, Mega said it was the YSB Magazine photo shoot is how he found out how he was kicked out the group. Plus, Mega beat up Nature in Queensbridge, not in the studio.Lastly, Mega dissed Nas way before I Am came out. Your story is fabricated.
he should do the true story about nas ,jungle ,mobb deep, cormega , the informous mobb , copone and how all these cats grew up together 40th 41 side of qb I would love to here that story
And then Cormega came out on the Redman video when Mobb Deep was beefing with Redman and Keith Murray around that time also. The I'll Be Dat video and the video was recorded in QB
Not gonna lie I think Nas is one of the greatest artists to put lyrics together bar for bar, but on many levels he and Jay-Z are kinda the same people they forget where they came from and who they was with in the game. I couldn't believe Nas would do all the stuff he did but money and fame changes things. It was messed up when he didn't do songs no more with Mega or AZ. And AZ is crazy.
@@breaks3085 that part. Nas was looked at as a GOAT in the making off his Live at the Barbecue verse hence the golden child nickname. Niggas loved him here in Detroit when he dropped. I remember my boy telling me Illmatic was the greatest album in 8th grade and this was 97.
“That brother that you claim so powerful The one you said he has a whole lot of pull Probably already tried to pull his brothers up And got betrayed, got snaked, got played Meanwhile he balance his challenges, hard to keep himself paid It's so hard for him, even though his talent is God-given Pardon him, stop putting your faults on him What he did to you now? The man in him is bringing the kid in you out You kid him, he still playin' the victim, you weirdin' me out That's what my perspective is, maybe 'cause I'm a specialist”
How u sayin that the Hate Me Now record line "tryna act like u tha realest/but who the illest" is 2 Mega? I Am dropped spring '99 and the REALNESS dropped summer of '01
Thanks for this man. Waaaaay too much back and forth with these dudes and they all from the same hood. And you didnt even mention all of the beefs between them. Sad because QB rappers alone could have been a army not including the rest of the borough. Im glad 50 didnt stick with nas back then because even though the few songs he did with the bravehearts were fire he wouldve never blew under nas. Again great video bro
I remember back in 2003 Jungle (Nas's brother) did a interview with XXL and said 50 had got the word "Wanksta" off of him when 50 first got poppin' I couldn't help but to laugh because it seemed like he was salty 50 blew up
Christopher Carter Yeah I remember reading that interview lol and after that the footage of Nas dissing Fifty at some concert at a park, then came piggy bank, as much as I love Nas's music, Fif had every right to come at him on piggy bank lol
Good stuff bro...What's up with doing a Nas vs AZ video bcuz they fell out for a while too and nobody ever really knew the situation. At one point they was suppose to do a collaboration album too!
Also they wanted Cormega to sign a "Production deal" which is a pitfall to Artists cause it can take Money from you & the Brotha Cormega was very smart when it came to the Business part of Hip Hop ..
Yup Mega recall quiet as kept started the artist mixtape idea. I still got the Montana diary. Didn't know Pun and Mega had a track till after I copped the mixtape . You didn't touch on the Nature, Nas fallout. Didn't Nature get slumped again? Or did wild gremlins step up? Also Sauce Money and Nature went through it
Cormega didn’t go to Nature’s house. They are from different blocks. Cormega is from my Block 40th side of Vernon ,and Nature is from the 41st side of 10th street . The fight happened on the Hill. What happened was Nature got out of a cab on the Hill and Mega was right there. Mega walked up to Nature and swung on Nature dropped him. And Nature got up and gave his man a pound and then his man said handle you’re business. Then Nature went at Mega and they fought one on one they were going at it. Mega got the best of Nature and they shook hands and that was it.
funny thing is .. I fucks with both of these cats... Nas is a Legend and Cormega is one of the Realest and most underrated cats from Q.B.. but that was some snake shit they did to Mega.. Nature over 'Mega... loool... fuck outta here
Yeah, Nature never had shit on mega, not only was mega superior lyrically (both in The Firm & as a solo MC) but he had the tragedy/sha/havoc-QB-connect w/ marley marl roots, which in terms of cultural relevance gives him the upper hand since he stays close to Tragedy Khadafis revolutionary antiimperialistic heritage, which is keeping the red thread of hiphop as a social phenomenon intact (to never compromise or switch from a working class/ghetto/rebel oriented POV to a hard life morphing into success story/establishment based dito, like way too many project ni***s who start to get a little buzz & shine & by way of gutting lyrical content of its edge declare social progress obsolete as soon as their own financials are secured). Im a huge Nas fan, can enjoy Half-A-Mil & AZ too fo sure, Cormega aint superior to Nas (Nas still got political juice, he took a radical stand on Gun4Gun w/ Killah Priest as late as '07) or anything but the Firm w/out him is mediocre. Mega & Nas came up together, makes no sense for them to beef, cold or not.
Plain and simple. Nas was signed to stoute and Trackmasters so was foxy and nature and AZ was affiliated with Trackmasters. Mega wasn't. He was bringing them no money and boom here comes nature. Nas being young figured stoute changed my life put money in my pocket he ain't wanna mess that up. The shit went outta control. Simple as that. I got the story outta Cormega directly
I feel you, I think if they battled face to face Mega would trash him. As far as making the best songs. I personally like Nas better. Mega is official though he got some classic songs and if he wasn't blackballed he would have been recognized as one of the best by everybody.
+Healthy Heavyweights Mega just didn't have the opportunities, Nas was touring and in the studio a lot of his younger days. Plus he took years to make Illmatic from when he was young, and that really got him noticed.
Rip jacka some of jacks best verses came off with cormega on the track it seemed to bring out the best of em which is a dope trait to have salute to cormega nas bootsy for how he handled that
Nas didnt have the balls to diss Mega or anybody else by name before Lake came home. But Mega let him know "Lake can't save you, Lord will just fold" Lol Mega let Nas know he couldn't hide behind them in a freestyle he did.
really, I know a little about the nas and cormega beef, but it's a lot missing from this story. nas one love song, how cormega was removed from the firm album cover, cormega on the violator one project
Whatever happened to that dude Quan who is on the streets disciple killed it on just a moment he was a promising prodigy of Nas that failed as well I remember horse from the original Bravehearts
*Cormega dropped that Nas diss where he says the line about Ill Will's mom still living in the hood after Nas dropped "Destroy & Rebuild". Nas's answer to that Cormega diss was the song on the 8 Mile soundtrack "U Wanna Be Me". When that came out some people thought the song was about Jay-Z because it was right around the time of that beef, but the song "U Wanna Be Me" is a Cormega diss song not a Jay-Z diss song.* *I don't know if Nas really turned to Lake for protection from Cormega, because Lake was Cormega's homie too.*
Now we know the inspiration for "We Aint Friends" by Nature (a dope ass song, btw): Cormega beating his ass up in broad daylight, on the top of a hill. Only thing I want to know is, did Mega knock him out and let Nature roll down the hill? If so, was it a big hill? 😂😂😂
That totally makes sense dude. I've been kicked out of a group before that s*** hurts when your homeboys was to p**** to talk to you like a man. Some people take loyalty and those who take loyalty to the grave and when you feel like someone's just on you just as determined to wreck a mf life up . Believe that
This dope are you gonna do a D-Block/LOX one? D-Block burial one my fav disses ppl don't even really know they was goin at state property/the ROC on that one shits crazy
I love Nas but Cormega gave it to Nas lyrically. If u don't believe me check out Cormega - Poetry. U forgot to mention Cormega said he gave Nas a lot of hot lines for his album. Like the "life's a bitch, but god forbid the bitch divorce me I'll be flooded with ice so hell fire can't scorch me. That line is from the song Affirmative Action which Mega said was really his line.
Sounds like to me Nas was doing some hating i heard a interview from Nas man & bodyguard lol from the Bravehearts group Big Horse & he said Nas always only wanted to be the Biggest Artist out of Queensbridge & he didnt really want people to succeed & Mega said that hes not cool with ANYBODY from the Illlmatic era alot of broken relationships lol
True your right Nas & Mega are the only ones that really were their own men Prodigy needed Havoc although they came in the game a group, Tradegy Khadafy is a queensbridge Pioneer him & mega are still cool ,you gotta see that Illmatic documentary that was dope. .
I remember Mega being from 4015 QB block and Nature was from 41st side. Also mega said he ran up on him on the hill not agreed to fight him, and dropped him with one punch while one of the homies ran his chain that Jungle was shooting to get back. Also the first a Nature diss I heard was on the clue tape talking bout how he got his spot jacked in the firm. Then mega and mike D classic fuck nature and Nas response
Nas dissed mega on STILLMATIC freestyle bc of what mega said in the xxl magazine than mega did the realmatic diss than nas did destroy and rebuild than mega did poetry and children story like disses lol it’s all on a mixtape
Some suggestions to make this more listenable: 1.Speak a lil faster 2.Speak with more enthusiasm 3.Don't record near any airports or turn off the fan in the background 4.Stop taking long pauses between thoughts or sentences.
