I love this video so much! I'm a recent grad with a Bachelor's Degree in Advertising. I feel stuck because I can't find any jobs due to most wanting to hire people with experience. How can I get experience if no one will give it to me? I've tried applying to internships as well.

I'm majoring in Advertising with minoring in Film.. i have studied about Advertising and Marketing both in my high school i was general business/commerce major during high school but i was also interested in film and media.. Advertising is something mix of Business and Media so that's why i choose advertising major and film minor..

And you have mentioned that advertising salary is not that high paying at start.. i know it is but in creative side, if you are in business side like brand management, marketing, social media, digital marketing the pay is really good! It depends on what company you are working for obviously. I'm planning to go into business side for sure because of pay plus i'm not that creative ^-^
@@Rice413 Digital marketing is part of Advertising, if you choose Advertising major you will also study social media management and digital marketing in it.
I know Florida schools have amazing advertising programs! That’s why I came down to Florida and attended UF in the first place! But I also know USC and UGA have really good programs!
literally same! i did a marketing course in grade 10 and hated all the price and distribution stuff it took me another 6 years until i realized the distinction between marketing and advertising and then i switched my major to communications. so happy i did!

Oh my god I'm literally a telecom production major that requested an advising appointment yesterday to change my major to advertising... lol. Thank you so much for going into detail about the major at UF and the different areas it can lead to! It really helps a lot and I appreciate it. It's also cool to see the different kinds of adv classes at UF and what you can learn about! I haven't really been able to see so much detail on this online so it's cool to learn about- thank you! :)

YES! There are soooo many roles in advertising that are perfect for introverts. In fact most of them are! The one role I would say you have to be really extroverted for is account management and that’s just because you oversee your entire team and the client you have!

your classes sound so fun! i want to be able to have the options to study those but it’s so confusing cause so many universities offer so many different things
Hey girl! I would say it really comes down to your skills and experiences that matter in the long run. So compare programs and classes between the majors! Make a pro con list of both and which is going to be more specific to what you really want to do! Hope this helps! 😊

Hey girl!! Thank you so much for the love. Marketing and advertising are really similar, but marketing includes more of the business side of things while advertising is more the creative/strategy side of things. Advertising is actually a subcategory of marketing. I knew I wanted to pick advertising because my classes had more of a creative focus with graphic design/copywriting/research/strategy/media/etc where as marketing would have required me to take accounting and finance and stuff like that. Both are honestly great and you can’t go wrong with your choice. It depends on what your career goals are! Hope this helped 😊
I'm trying to find a list of advertising courses i have to take in my college and i can't find it. ;/ i just see marketing, is that the major name? since i cant find the list as "advertising major".
Hey, it might be under a different college in your school! So for example my ADV classes were in the Journalism and Communications school, and my marketing classes were under the business school. At my precious school, they were COMM classes under CLAS. It al depends on your school!
im pretty my journey as and advertising major now would've turned out very differently if there hadnt any covid and it isnt online classes and wouldve have enjoyed my course more if professors are considerate now :v
I feel that :\ but hey, what I did was take a bunch of online learning courses that I knew were better my resume! Just work on making that resume look great with experiences and skills that matter!
@smileybts I would agree with this! But if your school doesn't have advertising specifically, like my old school didn't, you could still major in it and be in the same field after graduation. What matters most importantly is your experience and internships! While its better to have a more specific and focused major, if you can't have that than work on making the best portfolio and resume that you can! Otherwise, they both will get you in the same direction for sure!!

Hey!! I totally recommend 😉 an advertising degree gives you the transferable skills you can use in almost any major, which makes it really cool and applicable! I say study what you think you would enjoy the most, and the rest of the success will follow!
