Couple key things I found while conducting these interviews: Brennan does admit that there was an offer of sort from Yamaha of engines to replace so damaged ones he had along with an opportunity to test the bike at Goat Farm. Burkeen states that the AMA rules relating to a claim will only penalize another party if they counter claim a bike to interfere or if a rider is directly threatened by the claimed party. Negotiating a deal to receive some level of support in return for dropping a claim is NOT against the rules. Brennan also admits that he actually doesn't know if his bike sponsor / dealer was threatened by Yamaha, it was assumed. Cotter and Burkeen speak very highly of dealing with Brennan and his handling of the situation. Cotter and Burkeen both speak about the engine builder trying to be involved a decent bit. Cotter and Burkeen both state that they were told his parents "weren't around" and in retrospective they both wish they would've asked further on this. Both admit to not realizing that Brennan was under 18 in the moment. Burkeen states he didn't deny the kid the ability to make the claim without his parents around as he didn't want to run down the clock and risk the kid not being able to make the claim against the bike. He absolutely didn't want to interfere with the process and have it look like the AMA / MX Sports would deny a legitimate bike claim. Cotter, Burkeen, and Deegan all match up with a much shorter time line for the conversation with Brennan in the office. Their versions of Deegan's questions all match Brennan's.
The haters don’t want the facts they just want their version based on who they like. It’s sad but political thought processes have creeped into motocross minds.
Was there an AMA official present in the room with Brian and Brennan when the claim was brought up? I mean this seems simple the kid claimed a bike per the rules so why didn't he get it? Doesn't matter if claiming a bike is frowned upon or some sort of unwritten rule. Written rules > unwritten rules.
@@Aegeus148 he rescinded the claim to the bike so he didn’t get it. It’s been alleged that offers were made to him by Yamaha to not take the bike and also alleged that threats were made by Yamaha to his dealership and sponsors.
Classic Brian Deegan, calls the kid dirty for wanting to do a monetized youtube video about the bike, when he himself has the biggest monetized channel in the sport. Whats dirty is blackmailing a 17 year old out of his sponsorships. I sure wish the kid would have gone thru with it and revealed why Star could not let that bike be claimed.
Brennan hated Haiden, he was already talking shit about Haiden before the race at Southwick then crashed into Haiden at Southwick and talked shit about Haiden after Southwick ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SsPs0rctZLs.html
@@Shawn-ts4jw watch the Deegans recent lorettas video. At the end Brian talks about the situation. He plays it off like its no big deal and the kid was just trying to make a buck off their family. Calls were made to the kids sponsors thru the yamaha channels that could be considered a form of blackmail that forced him to rescind his claim.
If nothing else comes out of this situation one thing is made as clear as it could be. The playing field is not level. The factory teams are in a position to compete on equipment that a large portion of families could not even have access to even if they had the money to . That's really a situation that needs to stop.
No mods no nothing.the ama should make a rule on a totally stock production bike that anyone can buy from the showroom floor.no modifacations no nothing.all race the mass produced bikes.be a whole diff world.
I agree....kid steppin up to grab that bike "followin the rules"he knew deegans were cheating..why would he try...yamaha blackmailed that kid.he should get a good lawyer
@@benbradshawjr2856 ya its like the one sport where you could do that because the stock bikes are so good. it would definitely be cool if they did that
The claim was done correctly and fair. When the first conversation happened in any way other than yes or no as a response about the claim, money and politics won out. The Deegans fame and Star Yamaha and US Yamaha used their power to crush it. Shame on them. Riders is the B class with full factory bikes. It has always been this way but truly pathetic.
What’s with questioning the kid so much. He followed the rule and paid up, shouldn’t have been any questions asked. He could have stripped the motor and shared secrets with his engine builder, built his own engines to the same spec, sold it on or just kept it for himself. If it’s his bike he should be able to do what he wants with it... Who is behind the claim also shouldn’t matter, this rule exists to keep amateur racing honest. The kid should have been able to claim the bike even if he was sponsored by another manufacturer
Know you just said what alot of people don't want too happen if star sold haidens bike that had some pro parts in it then Schofield will be the next cheater and it'll get out of control from their and loretta Lynn's will loose its popularity because everyone will be running cheater bikes in every single class
@@kylebeach2316 that's what happens when you bring unobtainium in 250B. Star Yamaha is at Fault and Also Brian Deegan of not knowing the rule. Also the mobster way they dealt with Schofield is a Immediate investigation for sure.
Actually can't make them to exact specs as that would break patent laws which I guarantee Yamaha has in place already. He could learn from them but to make a replica and then sell it as his engineering would land him in a huge law suit.
@@kylebeach2316 no one said the bike was illegal. He wasn't cheating they just had a 50,000 bike and the rule is there for that exact reason so it's too bad the big guy won out on this one. I’ve heard from multiple sources when Brennen, Derek & Brennens dad, went to Matt Walker’s Pitt & met with Donnie Luce he said two very interesting things; *1.)* _”there’s technology in the motor we don’t want released to the public”_ *2.)* you won’t be able to service this motor…not even to he will _[points at motor builder Derek Harris]_ …what I’m hearing is the engine’s got something along the lines of Electronically-Controlled Valves which operate independently from a camshaft & require timing set up from a Laptop using specialized proprietary software (which would be totally unattainable for Brennen & Derek). Beyond that, Moto 3 was a throw-away moto for Haiden, which, In my opinion makes it a good time to test the feasibility of a prototype system… & _Electronic Valve Control _ is technology which already exists, Honda’s _iVTEC_ system utilizes Electronic Valve Control, the advantage being that you could have Variable Valve Timing which could be continuously variable (with system’s like Honda’s Standard VTEC, you’re limited to a _REGULAR_ cam lobe half & a _VTEC_ cam lobe half…there’s no more, no less & nothing in between, so it would offer superior versatility in the valve timing department, & the camshaft would be a bare _dummy_ camshaft with no lobes (so lower rotating mass therefore greater acceleration). The bad Press on Yamaha from this is going to be unrecoverable…the only way they can make this right is for Brennen to be on a _Monster Energy/Star Racing/Yamaha_ in 2023
It's a lot to unpack but check out all the interviews to really unravel this story. Intro 00:00 - 06:17 Brennan Schofield 06:18 - 44:09 Tim Cotter (MX Sports) 44:10 - 1:20:00 Mike Burkeen (AMA) 1:20:01 - 2:04:49 Brian Deegan 2:04:50 - 2:08:36
Of course Brian was too gutless to give an interview. He gives a short, dishonest statement, tucks his tail and runs. He is the epitome of a narcissist and just a cashed up bogan.
Tim Cotton should resign/be fired from MX SPORTS Immediately! Whoever the Yamaha guy is needs to be fired immediately! Brennan should be provided with bikes and support from Yamaha as long as he desires to ride and absolutely be given Haiden’s bike with a sealed engine that will be maintained by Yamaha in-house!
@Vitalmx, I have a question. Tim Cotter conversed with Derek and Derek was quite vocal and firm. Why would Derek need to be so argumentative if Tim Cotter was helpful? Tim Cotter glosses over this.
The only positive I can take from this mega cluster is that it does seem like the AMA tried to do all the right things & it’s obvious that Yamaha had a race bike at Loretta’s that they shouldn’t have been there & they were going to do anything necessary to keep that bike in their possession to include destroying a kids dream while putting hardships on a family when he did all the right things & followed all the rules.. it’s also very disappointing Brian Deegan didn’t do more to keep this poor kid from being ruined by Politics & Corporate Bureaucracy which is something I thought the Metal Mulisha was founded & stood for.. Travis Pastrana said it best, “Who’s The Real Sellout”.. I hope the Deegans use their Influence, Platform, & Connections to right this wrong & help make sure this kids name is restored & he gets a fair shot for a decent ride!! The Dealership that sponsored Brennan is a spineless little weasel. To go & threaten the kid to drop his Claim for the Bike than you go & drop his sponsorship after blackmailing him is such a Coward thing to do!! This is why less & less people are into motocross. The crazy expense it takes to be mid pack competitive, the politics, the corruption, the bullying of small teams, riders, & mechanics, etc.. it’s really become a rigged corporate shit show!! Seems to get worse every single year!!
AMA needs to step in and do something about Star making threats to his sponsor so he would drop it because they ended up dropping him anyway after he did it and if Brian was a big of a moto man as he says he would help this kid out you figure Brian would understand stand why this kid wants this bike he was the same way at his age
That kid had it out for Haiden. I just read a couple of messages he sent Haiden, this kid is nothing but a punk. This deal at Loretta's he had planned for awhile just to get at Haiden. I also think his mechanic was in on this just to get his hands on the bike. Yeah the rule is there but to begin with he had never read the rule book, until his dad told him about the rule and to read the rule book.
Brennan did it to himself.he was gonna put in the claim at Loretta it was a publicity stunt to get back at deegan.the kid said that yamaha was gonna pull the franchise and that could not and would not happen to much red tape to go thru on a multi franchise dealer.they sell bikes sleds side by sides and marine dealership of yamaha products.then he thru Matt walker under the bus and also by saying his motors keep blowing up throws his motor builder under the bus.and now the kid has a go fund me page.
EDIT: Brennan respecting his Sponsors request, was stand up, but for the Sponsor to drop him afterwards is cowardice and BS! That dealer needs to feel what it feels like to be betrayed, do not buy a damn thing from that dealer. This is less of an interview & more of Michael doing as he does, loves to listen to himself talk. You are truly a lover of the sport & have great connections, but man c'mon, let someone speak their own words, every question you had was "Leading" and not in good form for an interviewer. Brennan is getting a bad rap from this and should sue. Any man interrogating a child that is his childs competitor is not ok, never, without formers parents being present, punk move by Big B! Pushing around a child. Nice. Yamaha has lost a lifelong customer from this.
Not to mention any body else outside of racing would win a lawsuit like this. Lawyers would salivate about a case like this. Put people under oath and see what is.
This interviewer sucks obviously sounds like dealership was told holding off on pulling bikes because this would be a slam dunk lawsuit with pulling the bikes of the dealership claim to vital mx is true that they dodnt pull their bikes. This kid would've never said it unless it was true at the moment of dealership of it wasn't stayed by the dealership
@@Justahobbyoutdoors i am prettt sure if there is a contract between Brennan and his sponsor there are outs for the sponsor if the person they are sponsoring does something detrimental to their business. Sponsors often drop their clients for things that are not illegal but bring bad press to their sponsors and their clients. Prime examples are Kyle Larson and also a WoO driver who lost his ride and sponsors for cheating with a out of spec frame. Tyler Walker is another but what he was supposedly doing was illegal related to drug use. So guarantee the sponsor and their business are better protected than any client they may have. He gave them bad press to include claiming Yamaha strong armed his sponsors business which was a lie.
I think more People should be using this rule to Their advantage. For many reasons. One it would really level the playing field and force these guys to be better riders. Two Over time if enough people claim bikes it would eventually bring the costs down On bike and aftermarket oarts
MXJunkie I agree 👍🏼 and it's supposed to be amateur racing, there should only be Limited D, C, B & A classes no Mod classes, that way it would be about the talent and determination of the rider not the pocketbook of the parents. 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
According to the rules the kid dropped the $$$, the talking should have stopped then. His money and the rule book should be all the talking that was needed. If there was nothing to hide then Star and Yamaha would have just let it go in accordance with the cash and the rules. I would carry that $17,000 to every track for the rest of my career just to keep them honest.

I figure if I comment here maybe it will reach out... Amateur motocross should be about the best product manufacturers can provide to amateur racing without any modifications other than suspension valving to fine tune for the rider. Take karting for example, Louis Hamilton raced with a locked stock motor like every one else. Talent and hard work is what drove him to success. That principle should be applied to motocross. This allows for equal racing throughout amateur levels. Money is almost out of the equation. Talent and work ethic would be the ultimate differentiator between racers.

This rule is in place to keep amateurs kinda equal, it’s always been the family with the most money in winning, I’ve seen a lot of kids that were so fast they had no competition but money held them back or sometime even got out of racing because there family just couldn’t afford it anymore, they threatened this poor kid for doing this claim is unbelievable, I guess it’s all about money
I can't believe this story has blown up this much. I also can't believe people are blowing up Brennan, the Deegans, AMA, or Tim Cotter. From what is coming out it seems they didn't do anything wrong (of course it's easy to look back and pick apart little things, but overall they all handled the situation well considering the circumstances). To me it seems the most questionable events occurred with Matt Walker and the motor builder. Sounds like they were both too aggressive at different points in the event which neither of them should have been involved with. Obviously if Yamaha threatened a dealer license that's a big deal, but we'll probably never hear if that actually happened or not. Also interesting is the social media posts shown in this video from Brennan... it does appear he may have had some more underlying motivation than what he has lead on. Definitely doesn't make his claim of the bike wrong or invalid, just a bit more interesting haha.
Brennan said himself that he doesn't know if his bike sponsor / yamaha dealer was threatened by Yamaha, it was assumed by Cooksey Media, by Brennan himself. So many parts of this mess are mostly assumed.
@@obiron2099 sure they would have, it was casting a negative shadow on the dealership and they wanted nothing to do with it. Chris the dealership’s owner released a statement that at no point did anyone from Yamaha Motorcycle Corporation contact them regarding the issue.

This whole thing is a cluster, but there is a past at which Brennan isn’t speaking on. How he already was calling Haiden a “pussy ass mf” and “danger girl” at south wick because of the line he took. He handled this situation to a t and shouldn’t have took back his claim, BUT he didn’t do it for a RU-vid video, he did it because he simply doesn’t like Haiden because in all honesty, Haiden is better than him. It’s a sticky situation, but doing it just because you don’t like someone, kinda weird.
I have been waiting to hear Tim Cotter's viewpoint and kudos to you to getting the people imvolved to speak on this. I feel for Tim for being villified for doing his job and following the rules as they are written.
If AMA doesn’t do anything about this they are enabling this behavior. They need to take action on the bullies. Proof power is everything. Not everyone has the luck of being born to greatness or born knowing people. This kid just has a dream to ride a factory bike. Ends up being it was an unobtanium 😂
No One was Bullied, that was a two faced Lie... listen to Brennen's Trainer... it was the Engine Builder behind the claim and he went through Brennen and Deegan to attempt to get it... knowledge is power... go get some.
Seems like in this interview, the mechanic was involved even if it wasn't going to be fully for himself...(they were planning this claim since march but his dad went to get water for a pressure in the 30 mins they have to make the claim?? and the engine guy happens to be there with a golf cart but waits outside, also the screenshot shows they did not like deegans), but also on the other side seems yamaha did try and get the kid to stop the claim and did talk to his sponsor and even after withdrawing probably still influenced the dealer to drop him.
In my personal opinion, it feels like this was an unfortunate situation getting blown out of proportion at this point, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. I find it hard to believe Yamaha would risk the negative press of actually denying a dealer product just because they sponsor a rider who claimed a factory bike. Now the bike sponsor pulling their sponsorship in the aftermath does muddy it for sure. It can look from the outside that Yamaha is the one who told them to drop him, but equally they may have dropped him thinking this claim situation is bad press. The fact they have made sure to tell Brennan not to name them makes me lean to the latter, which coincidentally is even worse press.
idk how u find it hard to believe when it actually happened, i thought it was bs too until they pulled the sponsorship even after the kid took back the claim. i don’t wanna believe it, but it’s true. won’t ever catch me on a yami after this, sucks bc i always thought they made the best bikes but i’m not supporting a company that does shady shit like that, this whole thing is messed up and it falls on yamaha and the deegans

I know for a fact when you sign up for an AMA race as a minor you have to have a legal guardian sign your waiver to race, even at a local joe blow race in Boaz, Alabama you would need a guardian there to sign a waiver so how is a minor who needed a waiver to race even aloud to claim a star racing factory Yamaha at Loretta Lynn’s the biggest am race in the world is just beyond insane to me, you should have to have the guardian there who signed the waiver and it should be way more than 17,000 for these bikes, Kris keefer said his sons bike was a little over that and he’s a 10th place guy so yea msrp+msrp+ 60% would be around 22,500-23,000, or just get rid of all the stock classes and make it All limited rules and call it Am with maybe pipes suspension calving and stock ECU, engine mods are legal but must retain stock ecu, regardless this situation has showed us Am racing is broken and it has been for a very long time, the year James Stewart rode a factory pro circuit bike there in 2001 in schoolboy and 125A was when the can of worms opened up
Excellent job coordinating these interviews. I watched this video with a friend of mine and we had just a few questions on the matter. If we could ask Tim Cotter a few questions, these would be them. #1. It seems that you continually spoke in hypothetical terms while referring to the claiming rule. How many times have you personally been an intricate part of the claiming rule and how many times. Second part of this question… Do people that claim bikes typically know how many races, classes the bike is registered to participate in that day, weekend, etc.? #2. After all the interactions you had with Derek, how is it possible you can’t remember his name? It would seem elementary to retain this information, especially because I’d assume there has been a lot of “water cooler talk” about this, post situation. #3. Not knowing whose name was on the check, not knowing the rule book, simply forgetting key details, so many red flags. Moving forward, do you feel business ethics and processes need to be reviewed? I’m sorry, but my friend that watched this with me has been a phycologist for over 15 years now…. He seems to think Tim is not being fully inclusive or transparent. Just his humble opinion from a grainy YT video.
Brian Deegan, If you had that child cornered in a room, at all.? If Star Yamaha had anything to do with forcing the person that claimed the said motorcycle to back out or lose any portion of that person’s sponsorship. @@zonapainter Lol, Brian most likely couldn’t care less about my comments. I just wanted to express my thoughts and my support for the person that did everything by the rules and was royally screwed. Lawyer: Now is that how you understood the rule in the rulebook to read? Defendant: Yes. Lawyer: Mmm-hmm... And is that when Mr. Deegan said you could rail his daughter if you would rescind the claim? Defendant: Yes, and they said I could get 2 crate motors!

Funny how the people in charge won’t talk to the engine builder because he is not the parent. But every yamaha dealer/Rep/ dealer can ask them why, what’s your intensions? That’s BS. IT SHOULD BE BRENDAN AND AMA. The END. Yamaha should not have been able to talk to BRENDAN TELL AFTER BRENDAN GETS THE BIKE AND IF HE WANTED TO TALK TO THEM. Why should the trainer and sponser be telling him not to do this. Lol. Sounds like lawsuit coming. Poor kid.
Take the name degan, and star racing out of it. You spend thousands and thousands of dollars on suspension parts, a few thousand dollars on a mod motor(like all top amateur kids families do) not to mention the hrs tuning and getting the bike ready, and it turns out to be the baddest bike on the property. Another guy decides to use a loop hole rule to buy your bike for about half of what you really have in it. How would y’all really react
A rule is a rule bud, that rule is to make it fair for everybody. That rule makes it so it isn't pay to play. Fuck your feelings, you shouldn't have that caliber of bike at that event knowing that RULE exists. Sorry pal
I assume the dealership is Rallye motoplex. Did some digging and why would he not blow them out? If someone took my bikes back and basically said f you I would blow them the hell out. The bridge was burnt the second they took the bikes back
He had 17k to buy deegans bike, then a week later when his sponsor wants their bikes back he's talking about his parents trying to work something out to get him a bike, and his friends are offeering him bikes to ride, what happened to the 17k, surely he can just buy a new bike
Let's be honest the motor builder had a lot more involved than he likes to lead on seems like they're trying to be the victims now you should have known if you go at the most superstar in your sport it's not going to be pretty not saying he was wrong or right you just got to be willing to accept the consequences that comes along with it and that might be losing a sponsor the sponsor didn't like it maybe you should have thought a little bit harder about it instead of listening to the engine builder because I believe he had a lot to do with it
I know I'm 10 months late on this but this 100%. The engine builder cost this kid everything all because of his selfish reasons. He had to know at least some of the risks involved and still risked the kids career. He should have the bike tho 100% still or Yamaha could have paid them not to take it. Right or wrong technically speaking doesn't matter. The kid got fucked cause of him. I don't know why other people aren't coming to this conclusion.
He should of not backed out he lost his bike sponsor anyway and now he should sue. The tactics they used would of made me dead set on going through with the deal and when I was retaliated against I would of been in court getting alot more. I would have stood my ground to the end no matter the out come. I also think that 1 AMA offical should be assigned to the person making the claim to make sure no pressure is applied from other team.
Presenter throwing hardball questions at the kid and total softball questions to this Tom Cotter guy who is clearly lying. Why sir did you have a private meeting with the kid and Brian Deegan? What in the rule book states Brian Deegan has a right to cross examine a minor based on a clear rule? What role did you have in threatening the kids sponsor? Why are you skipping the second meeting where you continued to threaten the family? That was a trash interview bro, you’re clearly biased towards Tim Cotter.
Where were all of the Deegan cameras when this went down? 😂 Lot of naïve people in these comments that have no comprehension of how the sport (or the world, for that matter) really works. No reason for anyone to talk to Brennan after he claimed the bike other than ama officials, which neither walker, deegan, TC, or Yamaha are apart of. It's the facts jack.
Too bad they can’t make a claim anonymously directly wit the AMA especially if it’s a factory team. To protect the amateur riders from the powers that be
@@jennifersprague8585 you can have the bike taken to a shop or anywhere behind a curtain really an swap plastics and that's that. the rider does not have to ride the bike that same day or at said event. the rider can take it home and do what they want with it.
Yes, it is. As we stated at the top of this video, when this many people get involved…stuff gets mixed up and can get miss-communicated, miss-understood or miss-handled very quickly.
Got to give you credit for the best reporting on this by far, your the first to talk to all the parties involved, seems like there has been a LOT of miss reporting on this as others have only been going on hearsay and one side only. Keep up the good work Micheal. 👍🏻
@@vitalmx You dont want the big manufacturers/Teams/Mx Sorts to black ball you because they can and will. Then you are Done! They rule the sport NOT the riders.
Brennan should get a lawyer and sue the pants off of Yamaha for extortion. Threatening him and his sponsor the way they did is indeed extortion, perhaps even criminal extortion. Yamaha’s lawyers are probably very nervous and very concerned. What they did is the epitome of thuggery and the antithesis of professionalism. It’s a disgrace. Same with what Cotter did. Sue them all, Brennan! They surely deserve it. And the AMA should fine Yamaha and force them to give the bike to Brennan or be banned from racing for a year … like the rule book says.
The bike was up for claim Schofield claimed it and then all the shit and bullying and intimidation started don't want it claimed don't race factory bike in amateurs that's why the rule is there for
Im so beyond lost. What is meant by "claim", he claimed a bike to use? Like he wanted to buy a new bike on the spot at the biggest race of the year that he has never ridden before just guessing that he'd be able to ride it well, and that bike was actually Keegan's bike provided to Keegan by Yamaha? Is that basically what happened? Since when was this ever a thing??
@@xafbxmoto269 That seems so crazy, I never knew this was a thing. So why dont people just constantly claim other top ameaturs bikes all the time? Im assuming its looked very down upon? If it was my bike, id be like is this a joke…. my bikes not for sale on craigslist…lol!
@@justf12 Well it's not their bike it's star Yamahas. Usually it doesn't happen because they're just as worried about getting their bikes claimed. Smaller guys like Brennan don't have 20-30-40-50k builds so he would probably be hyped if someone claimed his bike.
yeah, the second he started verbally attacking the father and made threats, i would have set their entire rig on fire and knocked matts little ass clean out if that was my dad.
@@traveler142 so cotter, deegan, donnie, matt and the sponsor trying to change brennans decision isnt trying to "prevent" the claim?? What more proof do you need? They themselves admit this
Kawasaki, Honda, Gas Gas, KTM etc. all do the same shit... they are protecting their investment in technology... in the end Yamaha probably told the kid to fuck off... the kid fucked off...
That's why brain deegan said the kid was trying to defame his family. How is buying a bike defaming.. ITS BECAUSE THEY WERE CHEATING... Pastrana said this years ago about Brian
Or they did not want industrial espionage!! Yamahas engine is the best out there and all the other factory engine builders would love to breack it down and see whats inside there and use it on there engines!!
You think it’s that easy? All the hours of seat time and tuning put in being comfortable on the bike would be gone . Just cause you build a new bike with the same parts doesn’t make it the same bike . It’s a solid way to set someone back months /make them less competitive … looks like a hatred towards someone and anyway to set them back … smh sad times for all
Deegan does not own the Bike, so only the owner should have had any chance to talk to the Kid. The AMA should learn from this the new procedure for a claim. Claimant files in the AMA Office and all business including the handover occurs under their watch. Boom-no more B.S. and intimidation so the AMA's own RULE is enforced.
Nobody except the person filing the claim and the AMA reps, whose job it is to impound the bike and deliver it to the claimaint, should have been involved, period.
If a bike is claimed, the AMA should do their job as the middleman and insure the bike is delivered as it should be. The claimant shouldn't even be named and nobody should be permitted to speak to them to try and dissuade them or anything else.
@@evanburke4269It’s not about earning a factory ride , it’s Amateur racing , isn’t supposed to even be a factory bike racing . The AMA has a rule in place to avoid all this nonsense . The kid claimed the bike by the rules. Star and Yamaha did what they wanted with no regard for the rules of Amateur racing . Kid did nothing wrong .
What in the hell made this guy think that it was the right thing to do to bring that kid into a room alone for 20 minutes without waiting for his father or requesting his father sit
This leaves such a sour taste in my mouth, the kid lost his bikes even after he pulled the claim. if you can't see that people are doing things behind the scenes to mess with Brennan because of this claim open your eyes. No one should have been allowed to make contact with Brennan after he made the claim he was clearly pressured into pulling the claim. if you don't want your bike to be claimed don't bring a 40 thousand dollar bike to an amateur race. Haiden is clearly the real deal and will have a very long professional career and I am a huge fan and avid watcher of the Deegan family. with that being said I feel like this was handled very incorrectly and Tim Cotter should be no where near a rider after a claim. him claiming "oh I thought he was 18" see how well that holds up in court (not saying this is going to court). At the end of the day the kid is going to America as a Canadian rider following the rules and trying to compete the best he can. the rule shouldn't be a rule if you are not allowed to exercise that rule.
It just shows you how fake the deegans truly are. If they were real people, they would have had NO PROBLEM. they have MILLIONS OF DOLLARS TO WASTE ON BIKES. THIS KID HAS NO BIKES NOW BECAUSE OF STAR YAMAHA. #thebullydeegans
@@venicebeachsportsnetwork6677 having my bike start a huge PR project I would have let them claim it.. shows good character.. but instead we normalize this entire debacle that it's okay that this kid has no ride for following a rule.. he was essentially bullied out of the rule book it really doesn't help the sport or the big money image it's been portraying the last two decades..
Thanks for the extra coverage....wish you would have told them the kid lost his bikes? that could have been a good way to see the reaction...body language wise....as their stories seemed to be all the same ( AMA/MX SPORTS / BRIAN DEEGAN )... as to how long he was alone in the office... they have had time to get that worked out.... the 2 guys looked nervous talking about this...
1) don’t listen to Cooksey 2) Yamaha should have been upset they have every right to be some kid they support went after their top guys and their top bike. If you are a mediocre nobody at any profession or company you do not come out of no where and attack the top earner for that company or profession when you contribute almost nothing. Yamaha absolutely should have told him they will pull his support for this they have a lot invested in Deegan and those bikes no one should blame them for that. They expect return on investment Deegan brings more to the table than this nobody ever will. Life is not equal life is not fair this participation trophy generation needs to learn that.
@Jon Ruger Rules are the rules if Yamaha and star didn’t bring a big $ factory bike to an amateur race this would have been a nothing burger. To many things not adding up.
@@gwagenadventure727 oh shut up the top amateurs have done this since the 80s it’s nothing new people need to stop pretending this sport is for people on a budget. It’s not and never has been if you are a good amateur you will get support if you don’t maybe try another sport don’t cry about it.
@@gwagenadventure727 he disrespected his main sponsor if I was them I’d pull all his support. How would you feel if you helped someone out not to have them turn around and try to steal from you?
Should’ve been no discussion nothing. Schofield worked for his money, and paid it. End of story. Brian, star everyone else talking to the kid had no rights. AMA makes rules that they themselves didn’t follow. If star didn’t wanna lose their bike then they shouldn’t have had a factory bike on the line 🤷🏽 rules are rules and the fact they went in on a SEVENTEEN year old is comical.
This is the reason we don’t trust politics and politicians. They don’t follow the rules they set. This is a big loss for our sport. If the rules were followed without putting any pressure on this kid, he would never have given up the claim. Like it or not, those are the rules, and now the moto world is losing faith in what otherwise always seemed legit on the surface. I think the way this was handled just opened a can of worms.
Right and your running AMA rules this is a n AMA race the promoter pays AMA to use their rules! So at the point of AMA claim the promoter gets lost unless he is helping. This guy was pressuring and that’s unacceptable and AMA should issue penalty to this guy and Yamaha and anyone whoStrong armed this kid
Look I don’t believe this guy that the engine builder was being belligerent. Look the engine builder as the adult being there during the claim was trying to protect the transaction from being tainted. In other words the engine builder wasn’t acting that way unprovoked! I’ve heard his interview also. And Brennan’s there was indeed pressure coming and as promoter he should have never even allowed a meeting with Brian and Brennan I believe he didn’t realize he was 17 but facilitating that meeting was uncalled for if Brian want to talk to the person go do it but this guy being involved was uncalled for with that meeting!
@zoner 🤡 they all admit it I don’t have to be there everyone of their interviews admitted that! The point is a meeting between the claimant and the sponsored riders father is not part of a claim! Especially since it is not their bike!
