Beni Habibi, Most people are outsiders. None of us really know what's going on accept by the Jews, Arabs and the news reports. There's several things that outsiders can go by. Neither party really couldn't do anything for themselves while under the Ottomans rule. The Allies in WW1 took over these areas from the Ottoman Turks and tried to settle the matter equally. The Arabs were given there independence in several countries starting with Egypt, Jordan, Syria and Lebanon. But when Jews were given there's, the surrounding Arabs acted selfishly and irresponsibly. So I have no sympathy for the Arab countries involved. They've outnumbered Israel dramatically yet they seem to not be able get their butts handed to them at every turn. Then they expect Israel to give back land after they've attacked Israel? Are they just stupid people? Because they keep bringing it on themselves. There are different opinions on how to solve the problem, and it should be discussed, but understanding the motives and knowing goals is crucial to achieve peace.

Coming from an educator standpoint, I actually like the ending of this documentary. In order to reach peace is to change the way children for the next generation see their world. Replace hate education with peace education. As said in the film by Nonie Darwish, who is an Arab herself, "Arab kids don't need jihad, they need jobs, Arabs kids don't need hatred, they need hope, they need education. They need to look at other people of different religions as an opportunity to learn something from others, not an opportunity to kill others. Israeli Professor Israel Shahak wrote "Jewish History Jewish Religion" and exposes Zionism and how it threatens world peace. The son of one of the most famous of Israeli generals, Major General Matti Peled, wrote a book "The General's Son." General Peled gave up his high rank in the Israeli military to advocate for the Palestinians. In return for his efforts he became a social pariah in Israeli society. His son, Miko Peled devoted half his book to his father as a man of peace and the other half of the book to the plight of the Palestinians. There are many such books written by men willing to jeopardize their legacy by telling what is in their heart. Have you considered compiling such books? Where is a good website of books for Americans and Israelis to read by authors who were fellow citizens and on the inside of US and Israeli government? Perhaps the Crusader Kingdom of Jerusalem may be considered "autonomous" but it is an extension of the Byzantine Empire or Catholic Church - all of the powers occupying Judea were external occupiers whether the Christian Byzantine Empire or the various Caliphates. Therefore - you would be factually wrong to claim "Jews invaded" during the British Mandate period. Firstly, the British were occupiers of a dismantled Ottoman Empire - which itself occupied the land from other Caliphates. Never was there any "Palestine" which was independent or sovereign among ANY Caliphate. The name "Palestina-Syria" was given to the land after Roman invasion and subsequent Byzantine rule. The name was changed to Palestina-Prima by the Sassanians during the Sassanian-Byzantine wars. Interestingly, Jews regained Jerusalem as their capital during the Byzantine-Sassanian wars in the 6th centurty and for a number of years has an autonomous Jerusalem. (Jerusalem was invaded by the Byzantines and Jews were massacred or forced to convert - i.e had it not been for Christian brutality, in all likelyhood Judea/Israel would have been re-established in the 3rd to 7th century)

One could also argue that Jews were never totally expelled from Judea, considering there was always some Jews who continued to live in the occupied Judea after the Bar Kochba revolt. Jews certainly lost autonomy and independence following the Bar Kochba revolt - but they did regain some limited autonomy once the Sanhedrin was re-established after the fall of Jerusalem in 79CE. The Sanhedrin, central to Jewish courts and autonomous rule continued to exist throughout much of the Byzantine occupation and finally disbanded in 425 CE after continued persecution by the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantium. The following years after 425CE where particularly cruel to Jews in occupied & renamed Judea and only until the Byzantine-Sasanian War of 602-628 did Jews regain autonomy, some political power and rule over Jerusalem (specifically by Nehemiah ben Hushiel and Benjamin of Tiberias). Jews eventually lost the war after Heracilius reconquered Jerusalem - most Jews either murdered or force converted. Jewish sovereignty ended and any political power decimated. The after effects are that Jerusalem was weakened as were the Byzantine & Sassanian empires from long prolonged wars (not just about Jerusalem) and both Empires fell to the Rashidun Caliphates conquests and occupations.

Having followed this conflict for about the last 50 plus years, I thought the video was fairly accurate, but somewhat bias, or at least failed to include what the daily life of Palestinians is like and the humiliations they are subject to. I have seen Palestinian textbooks and what is presented in this video is quite true on that subject. As for who really has claim to the land and that the Jews were never there in the first place, forget the Israeli or Palestinian view: read the history of the Roman Empire. Masada, the Maccabean Revolt, the numerous Jewish revolts at Roman rule and taxes. Don't recall reading anything about a Palestinian uprising. What were the Crusades about? Arab incursion into the Holy Land. Not taking sides, but that's historical fact even in Arab literature. The killing of innocents in Gaza by Israel is horrific, whether intended or not, though the neutral nation of Sweden as an observer of past conflicts gave witness that that there is a well established and documented history of the PLO and now Hamas purposefully putting children in the firing line. As for an end to the current and future conflict I can only offer my own rather simplistic solution: Hamas can stop firing rockets into Israel! A novel idea, I know. How about creating a state of Israel and an Arab state with the land out of the equation. They all share the same land and same infrastructure and each Jewish and Arab citizen would owe its allegiance to their respective States and those states would only have jurisdiction over their own citizens.

The British and French betrayed the Arabs by taking over the Arab lands and issuing the Balfour Declaration. America betrayed the Arabs by playing them against one another, giving them money, taking their oil et etc. Arab leaders are to blame for not clearly fighting for the rights of their people, by killing each other.
