Jeffree actually ALWAYS talked about "there should be at least 30 shades" since years ago when i just started watching him. He definitely didn't do this for fame or anything. I remember Jeffree stating this same opinion way before Rihanna came out with her line. He said way back then that a foundation line shouldn't launch until it has at least 40 shades that represent everyone. Say what you want about Jeffree but he hasn't changed his opinion for drama or praise. He has always felt this way.

I have heard of Jeffree’s past about racist remarks. I am a WOC but I am also a Christian. He has apologized. In my bible, that means he’s forgiven. People make mistakes. He was genuine with this review. I do not feel he did this video to gain new subscribers but as a way to connect with Auntie Jackie and Cousin Alissa. It may be his way of saying, “I’m sorry. I see what is still happening and why my words have hurt people of color. I have a voice. I will use it to speak up.” What more can he do? In my opinion, there isn’t anything else for him to do. He’s using his platform and he knows he has things to work on. We all do. I’ve never purchased any of his products. That’s just because I’ve been on a journey to spend less and save more. To be honest, when I’ve seen his tweets and that video it made me not want to but then he asked for forgiveness. We can’t keep holding people to higher degree than we hold ourselves. We’ve ALL made mistakes. All. The. Time. Jeffree included Jackie’s video to “reach out” I hope they can come together. It’s better to come together than stay apart. That is why Dr. King marched so that we ALL are equal. It’s 2018. If someone has done something and asked for forgiveness let’s forgive. It does not mean you have to become BFFs but it sure does make this world a better place.

As a WOC myself, I totally agree that Tarte's shade range is absurd. But when Kylie came out with an inclusive concealer shade range, everybody also attacked her and said she copied Fenty. It's like you cannot win either way. There's just so much hate in the beauty community. It's insane.

Tarte saying “more shades are coming. They were always going to be made” is like when you didn’t buy someone a Christmas present but they get you one so you say “oh yours is coming it just hasn’t been delivered yet.”

This video really shows that Jeffree is holding himself accountable and is using his platform to practice what he preaches. I don’t actually care if he’s dishonest or not, because now his brand and channel will begin to be associated with supporting PoC and being inclusive which is ALWAYS a step in the right direction. Millions of people will see this. His reach is huge. His actions here speak louder than his sorry video. I hope he keeps this up x

I dare Rihanna (or anyone) to find a shade that perfectly matches me! I’m super pale (fair or light) with cool undertones that are sometimes rosy or peachy. Shades on me are either way too light or way too dark! It’s not cute walking around looking like a ghost or wearing an orange face either! Shades on the light end are too light. Many more lighter shades that are a tone darker need to be added w/ a different undertone. This part is often forgotten about. On the other end, there aren’t shades that are dark enough & those dark shades don’t have the correct undertone. People on BOTH sides of this spectrum are facing the same problem! If u want to help, you’ve got to help BOTH sides!😊

When the Movie "Fifty Shades Of Beige" releasing?

I'm new to makeup, and I have been having a hard time finding shades of foundation for my complexion. I'm mixed Latina and American Native which gives me some really odd undertones. I love that you champion for more ranges for those of color. It means a lot. I had never thought about how hard it might be for exceptionally pale people to find shades until another of your videos where you mentioned it. I think; sometimes, we get so wrapped up in our own challenges we don't see the challenges of others. But, your videos have taught me a LOT about how to shop for makeup and given me a jumping off point when looking, at least.

I watched Auntie Jackie’s video yesterday and I was SO happy when I got this notification that you were also reviewing this. I just don’t understand why a top brand would feel the need to put out “50 shades of White” and just completely exclude people of color🙄

I’m not a huge fan of jeffree but one thing I will admit is, I will always appreciate jeffree for his honesty. I always come back when he has a review about a product bc he is the one who truly speaks his mind. And for that he has my respect regardless if I’m a fan or not.

I too come from a past of a lot of self hatred and that often times projected itself. not only has he apologized but he's making way to make a difference in the beauty industry.

The third darkest shade literally looks like it would match me, and I’m just about the whitest of the white. I, personally, don’t wear foundation but I couldn’t imagine walking into a store trying to find my shade and it not being there. Rihanna set the bar high for shade ranges, and now there’s no going back!
