Laura, a young wife and mother, lives in a quiet suburbia, but beneath this perfect surface lie dark secrets. She puts on a facade of a joyful smile to the world, but her heart and soul are sorrowful and oppressed. For many years, she has suppressed the pain and hidden traumas buried deep within her consciousness.
Everything changes when, during a seemingly ordinary day, Laura begins to experience a rapid resurgence of repressed memories. Gradually, these repressed memories start to resurface, awakening her to the painful reality of her past. She is forced to confront what she subconsciously tried to hide from herself - the tragic events that occurred in her life and forced her to become a shadow of her true self.
Delving into her inner world, Laura realizes that to find true happiness, she will have to confront her painful memories and break free from the constraints she has imposed upon herself. She embarks on a journey of self-discovery, unraveling her emotions and changing her outlook on life.

Sounds like depression and addiction to sex in this case. i think this happens more than we know. We can work out the lost of another by creating something beautiful out of that love. The sudden loss can be disturbing especially if the outside world or others interfere. Grief is very much neglected in our society and in our culture. Love can be reflected in many ways, like keeping a journal.

Totally weird movie ! Her unresolved trauma makes her do horrible things .. I could never understand people who hide themselves under fake smiles she just pretends she is ok but when she is alone she is in a mess .. what’s the point to even be married to someone if you can’t be real and honest .. the whole movie is just strange and confusing .. what is the ending .. did she really kill that poor guy or it was her imagination?

The name of this film is Laura Smiles (2006). Its a good film though not a box office smash. The woman suffers trauma from losing her fiance. Rather then grieving, she immerses herself in several superficial relationships. Then finally she allows herself to start the greiving process 10 years later.

Interesting movie but her trauma would've begun in childhood & that doesn't even rate a mention ... I know this as I am going through the journey of healing repressed trauma myself

Awfully slow and boring. Nothing but that woman and one man or another. Every single scene. The man she was going to marry gets run over by a car. After that it appears she punishes herself in grief with a suburban life married to a stranger, confused, looking for meaningless distraction, on occasion. She does not have a clear sense of meaning to start out with. So when her fiance is killed there is nothing left that she would recognize. I regret having wasted my time on this worthless slow nothing. People drifting, philosophysing and doing things with no sense of meaning.

Excelent movie, but too much food & eating (made me really hungry). Kind of dissapointed at the end. WARNING: Not a movie for everyone, if you get bored at the very begining, then skip and next.
