I stayed at the Tunnel Inn way back in September of 2011 - it was (to date) the only time I ever did any railfanning in Pennsylvania. I visited both Horseshoe Curve and the Railroaders Memorial Museum in downtown Altoona. I still have video footage from that visit, including a catch of one of NS's few remaining Conrail blue SD50 locomotives leading a freight out of the Gallitzin Tunnels. I wish I could go back... but that won't happen any time soon, because my stepfather (who went along with me on the 2011 trip) passed away in February 2023, putting an indefinite pause on any future trip plans.
I was trying to figure out which was my favorite part…the Inn, the trains, or your mad percussion skills. I’m gonna go with the percussion. I love it!!!!
That whistle post with the morse code marking were only used on the Southern railway so it's pretty far away from home. And yes you can still find some on the former southern.
Stayed at the Inn about 10 years ago. We were lucky to see the Ringling Brothers Circus Train coming out of the tunnel heading towards Pittsburgh. Great place to stay.
Came for the inn tour and trains going by, stayed for your awesome drumming skills. Really fun video. I look forward to seeing your other videos from this location.

Stupid question time... Does the Amtrak train from Philly to Pittsburgh go through the tunnel? I was considering riding it because it went around horseshoe curve, but the tunnel would be awesome too.
