The 80s: The Twilight Zone, Tales from the Darkside, Tales from the Crypt, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, Freddy's Nightmares, Amazing Stories, Monsters....There will never be a time like this again.....
Don’t forget the Hitchhiker, Friday the 13th the Series, and Beyond Reality (The last one was an early 90s show technically. But still had the same vibes none the less.).
The theme song....scary to you guys? That's nothing!! The part of the Twilight Zone that scared me is exclusively seeing its metallic logo on TV as the CBS TV announcer saying: "'The Twilight Zone: Sponsored by G.E.'"
Okay after reading all the comments, I know I know I'm not crazy because as a small kid in the 80s this music gave me nightmares too. Still get chills and goosebumps when it gets to the signature guitar hook.
Me? The only thing I found creepy as a child was looking at the curves and swirls of the G.E. logo on my TV screen!! I didn't just find it creepy, I found the G.E. logo HYPNO-CREEPY!!
@@TheTERMlNAT0R It's 215am, and you feel something crawling on you in bed. You turn the light on to see what it is. You pull back the covers to reveal a giant spider next to your legs, just past your knees.
Both the 50's and 80's versions were great, both tended to mostly end on downers outside of scattered episodes. Both took you to a place where something unsettling was happening, and things weren't quite right.
right now on the the decades network, they are having a Twilight Marathon. Unfortunately it's not the original, it's the one from 1980s which ain't too bad at all
My mother used to watch tales from the dark side every fucking night when I was 9, while I was tryna sleep for school around 9ish or so...shit gave me the creeps. Used to scared the fuck outta me. I’m 38 now..I told my mother this story like a few weeks ago..she had nerve to tell me “why didn’t you just say something, I woulda watch it another time” lol grrrrr
1:05 Can someone tell me what instrument that is that makes that ghostly sound? And/or can anyone tell me of other spooky songs that use that kind of sound?
At first I was going to point out the use of blaster beam (or similar) at the very beginning, but listening with headphones, I think they might've managed that sound out of a regular electric guitar! Good stuff either way.
If there is a religious theme to the Twilight Zone, I believe it is Deism. There is something behind it all, but we are not sure who or what it is, nor its purpose. A theme like this fits it perfectly. Ironically the Eye Of Providence or all seeing eye is the symbol of Deism. Great show btw!
