Great episode. All drinking has ever done for me was brought the idiot out in me . Pure stupidity and I thank God I don't care to drink anymore today .
Wow. He played this role well. Alcoholism is a serious disease. I work in the medical field and once had a 20-something year old patient with liver failure, he had very bad jaundice and began drinking because of severe depression. Poor guy was in bad shape.
Sadly my co workers daughter just passed away about a month ago from that very same thing. She was 28! She was a sweet girl and it’s a sad thing. She had the jaundice, itchy rash, ascites, the whole bit.
Alcoholism is a symptom not a disease. But, you’re taught in the medical field to treat the symptoms not the actual problem aren’t you. Because it’s all about money. You’re a fool and an instrument of the oligarchy.
Hello. I remember that many tv shows, during the 1980's, had messages about the dangers of drinking, smoking, and abusing drugs. Now, these messages are rarely shown on television.
Alcohol withdrawal can literally get just as crazy and horrible as it was with this guy where you're literally rolling around screaming at the top of your lungs like he was, and him being like that was no exaggeration of what bad withdrawal is like, am I right?
Yeah when I quit I go to the hospital. Otherwise u can die. Almost did from seizure/ heart attack from withdrawal. And attempting suicide during hallucinations...scary. don't quit alone or cold turkey with alcohol it's dangerous.
That's why I thought the twist at the end of the Episode was going to be that there is no worm. The doctor just made it up. He gave him a pill that temporarily inhibited his taste buds, and Miley felt all that pain just because he quit cold turkey.
nothing wrong with drinking now and then so long as you keep it under control. I drink when out with friends but since I drive myself to those occasions, i keep it under control. I also don't really drink at home.
The human body was not programmed to have alcohol consumption and smoking. One will damage the digestive and nervous systems, the other the respiratory system, resulting in all the bodily systems becoming affected and when to many lifestyle illnesses develop it means the shortening of the human lifespan.
Not just that bloke millions suffer from the shit government & the rest of the cunts that get rich and could not give a shit about the misery they push.
People don't want to because they will have to give up all of their alcohol, sex, and materialistic things. Basically if if dosen't please they don't want it.
]-[ibiscOney You are correct, that why it usually takes a catastrophe in their life to cause them to look into a relationship with Jesus Christ. That was true in my life and I thank God every day for the catastrophe that brought me to His Love. He made me a brand new creature in Christ.
Dang he has to be so careful. No rum and raisin ice cream, no Caribbean holiday celebration cause even the food and pastries have alcohol in them and no Cough medicine
+Freddy Krueger my addiction to netflix and youtube also..............I was gonna say after part 1 that I needed the Hellgamite method for drinking too, but after part 3 I said F.. that and went and bought a beer......LOL
i'm surprised that no one commented or knows that a helgramite is the larvae of the dragonfly and lives under rocks in streams and rivers -- it does have pincers and a rubber like skin that makes them great fishing bait. it takes work to find and catch them.
That is incorrect. A hellgramite is a larval stage of a Dobson Fly. Those MFs are the most terrifying insect I have ever had stuck in my hair on a summer night.
I did quit drinking about 30 years ago, But one day I said this prayer, LORD GOD, if you really exists, come to my life and help me quit this alchool bad habit, Because Im afraid Im gonna die , And one day, I was drinking and playing guitar at the porch, Suddenly a very tall lady showed up to the side walk and insisted to take me to her church, I was mad about her perseverance, but finally I agreed, Now I've been 7th Day Adventist for 30 years and waiting for JESUS to take me to ORION, THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE, I'LL BE INMORTAL AND ABLE TO STAND ON THE SUN, AND TRAVEL THE UNIVERSE, AND BE A PERFECT HUMAN BEING( HOLLY) . I loved to watch this Twilight Zone series, and craved to enter into another dimension, but now, GOD GAVE ME THE ASSURANCE THAT IN THE NEAR FUTURE MY VERY MOST IMPORTANT DESIRE WILL BE GRANTED AND COMPLETED FULLFILLED. A Holly person is the one that enjoy doing good. Very simple, Jumping in church is profane, speaking a strange language is confussion.
Been There..NEVER AGAIN.. Pray for All in Recovery.. If you've never been there.. Then PLEASE.. DON'T CAST STONES.. BECAUSE UT REALLY DOES HURT ONES SOUL WHO'S EXPERIENCE YOU WOULD NEVER WANT TO HAVE
I expected this to either be a fabrication by the Dr. , there is no parasite and it’s motivation to quit or it was a dream he had then wakes up and says I’m so glad I don’t have a parasite , I think I’ll quit for good this time , but finds a matchbook with Helligramite written on it or something .
It took me 5 DUI's and 3 totaled cars to stop drinking. I was truly fortunate not to have killed someone or at least injure someone else besides myself. I have been sober for about 10 years now and I don't ever want to go back. Another DUI and I'll be charged with a felony and have to do prison time. We all have our own rock bottom for sure. But it really comes down to making a choice. Do I want to lose my family and my life? Or would I rather keep being a husband, father, & grandpa and leave this world with a good legacy with my pride in tact?
Wish this was actually a real punishment for those who are caught after their 2nd time having a DUI. Would make for a perfect punishment as they no longer get drunk but have to deal with a parasite for the rest of their life and either quit drinking to put it asleep or deal with the constant hunger from it and possible death it could bring.
Alcohol is insidious. Imagine all the people in prison right now who committed a crime during a blackout drunken episode they otherwise would never have done sober. They have no memory of what they did. When I’d drink and wake up the next day hungover I would always wake up with horrible anxiety and regret as well as the physical pain of the hangover. Fortunately I never did anything too stupid with drunk like drive drunk and kill a family but I made a complete fool of myself more times then I like to remember
That's exactly what I was thinking :) They never actually show the worm, just in a dream state and in a cabinet. The doctor could have told him a frightful pack of lies, gave him a temporary inhibitor, and he only went through alcohol withdrawal, cold turkey, during all that pain! 🙂
Tania Jones. With real alcoholism, quitting for a few days, weeks or months and then suddenly starting again is called "kindling." The dormant disease comes back stronger each time. The worm in this story is the same.
I'm sp glad I never got addicted to booze, or heroine, or even cocaine. I never tried Heroine but I hate being drunk, and Coke never did anything for me, so I guess I'm blessed. This was a very scary episode.
What? He quit because he was worried the worm would eventually grow and kill him but he had no concern over that when it came to cirrhosis of the liver or heart disease? Huh? Also, he is the ONE alcoholic who drinks just because he wanted to be an alcoholic ... no psychological reason or pain he is trying to medicate? None? So he quits cold turkey and whatever caused him to start has just magically gone away? I have a friend that used to be alcoholic and now he's a pothead. At least he had a job when he was an alcoholic. He just won't take care of the issue that is causing him to want drugs. But THIS GUY, oh man, this guy never had a problem, he just wanted to be an alcoholic for fun. Classic new Twilight Zone.
"The Lost Weekend" is the best old-school drunk movie. "Clean & Sober" is great. This is stupid. BTW I saw a healthy 26 y.o. guy die of a siezure from alcohol withdrawl. Relapse is common. Just quit, again.
Yeah, most people don't know how deadly it can be. I love how in The Hunger Games Hamish just "dries out," when cold turkey would've killed him. It was one of the darkest and least explored themes of a dystopian story.
