The Twins are SO different! 

the babies look so big to me suddenly!! they’re so alert and awake!! maisy is so sweet always looking right up at her mama, she doesn’t want to miss a minute of looking at you. 💛

I literally love how Flynn asked what she was doing and she’s like …”I’m talking to my friends” found that cute lol

I just laughed when I thought about the twins and the cats names.. they’re so similar! Gus & Daisy, Wes & Maisy 😆

I just found out I’m pregnant this morning and watching Colleen with the twins is making me bawl my eyes out!!!

Colleen’s really gotta put some kind of warning before she hits me with all that cuteness. Wesley and Maisy are adorable!

Maisy is still shook from her rude awakening when Wes broke the water so that they could make their debut in this world, hence the funny facial expressions she is currently making 😆😹 poor girl is still processing what her brother did lol

It’s so cool to see the twins so alert and moving their body parts! Is that weird to say? They’re still so tiny but they’ve grown so much in four weeks!

It's UNBELIEVABLE to me how great the twins are developing! My best friend had preemie twins born in the same week as yours and they took way longer to be able to hold their temperature so my friend couldn't hold them the first 4 weeks and they had to stay in the NICU for 16 weeks before they could go home. Since this was my only experience with preemies I was very surprised seeing your babies being so awake and well developed at 4 weeks! You can be sooo proud of them and you. You're doing a great job Mama!

I love getting to see Colleen actually dancing during the Dance Parties again! It’s so amazing how resilient women’s bodies are. I can’t wait to see all three kiddos dancing around together some day :)

I can’t help it. Seeing Colleen with the twins, in the NICU, brings back so many memories of when my kiddo was there. I miss it and I don’t miss it. It was hard, but the experience I will never forget. Seeing him hit all his milestones and thrive. I promise you, the feeling of pride and happiness is never forgotten. I can’t wait to see how Flynn is with the kiddos and the huge and amazing Ballinger family! Bailey especially. She is such a gem and is so great with Luke and baby Teddy. I just have no words.

Maisy looks like her eyes will be blue like Flynns! She looks a lot like him! And Wesley reminds me so much of Duncan as a baby! I can relate SO HARD to being thankful for a healthy body. I'm getting over a very serious illness that has left me very weak and the doctors say it could take several months to get back to normal. I have trouble even getting around my (very small) house, and I'm SO thankful when I can even stand up without a struggle. It's amazing how many tiny things we take for granted when we're healthy, AND how our bodies heal themselves. I'm glad to be improving, and really happy to hear you are too.

Tortilla Talk Suggestion: Hey I'm not a NICU Mumma but I'm an older sibling and there is a really good book you could read to Flynn called 'Za-Za's baby brother' by Lucy Cousins, my mum read it to me before my sibling came home from the hospital and it might be really good for him to understand you being away with the twins PS. Love you so much, you are so strong

What's so funny about the advent calendar tuck, is Flynn was somewhat correct. He says, it's a fire engine, it's really a rocket launcher vehicle. So... There is fire involved, it just makes the fires! 😁

Colleen has helped me so much. I am a teenage girl and I am struggling so hard with my physical and mental health. Watching these vlogs helps my anxiety so much. Watching Colleen be a human with flaws has been so therapeutic for me. I am so inspired by her and she is a role model for me. ❤️

I cannot BELIEVE!!! the twins are already 4+ weeks. When I had my son in July that’s been the biggest shock to me- just how quickly time flies by. And seeing the twins when you were up at hospital- Maisy with her eyes opens. Wesleys little noises. They’ve grown so so much… I literally could not stop smiling. Tortilla talk: let’s be real- it’s takes a super hero to be able to do EVERYTHING you are doing, and go through everything you’re going through- you’ve been through so much. What do you feel has been the number one MOST difficult thing out of this whole experience? Just know that you’re KILLING IT

I really appreciate your perspective on appreciating being able to walk and not talking it for granted because it’s so true, my husband hasn’t been able to walk without intense pain collapsing for over 2 years now. I really hope he has a moment where he realizes he’s no longer in pain like you had explained while you were on a walk with Flynn… glad to hear you are feeling so much better ❤️

It made me so happy when you told Flynn you were showing your “friends” the ornaments because sometimes in my head I refer to you as “my friend Colleen” 😂 I know it’s silly, but after watching your videos religiously for the past few years (just about every single vlog) I feel close to you! Like a friend I’ve never met! Your videos have helped me through a lot and they bring a smile to my face even on my worst days. Don’t get discouraged, both my babies were preemies (31 weeker and 33weeker) and even up until a couple days before they came home with both babies they would tell us they’d be home by their due date- our first baby came home at 36 weeks and second at 37.5. I think they say that to not get your hopes up! Just be prepared because they can be ready to come home literally overnight! Rooting for you and am so excited for you to have those babies home!

I might have to get a C-section in a few weeks and I’m terrified. Watching your videos and how you’re dealing with the C-section and your babies in the NICU have helped me so much and understanding what it might be like for me and makes me feel less alone.

In a year, you’ll look back on those nicu days with such fond memories and remember the deep appreciation you have / had for the nurses, the hospital and the whole experience. Warm wishes to your family!

The nurses will say “before Christmas” or “maybe 3 weeks” just in case it actually does take that long, but I honestly think they will be home very soon. Probably a week or so. Things change so quickly and they grow so fast so try not to worry about it. They’ll be home soon enough 💕

As a preemie twin myself (24 weeks), I just wanted to say how much I love watching you watching them, Colleen. It makes me think of how much my parents probably looked forward to seeing me and my brother, the little laughs they shared and in-jokes they came up with for us every day in the NICU. Thank you.

Lol when he said “two babies, really intense” I had to chuckle bc my hubby and I still say this and ours are two! It’s really mind blowing.

The twins will have kinda a hard time adjusting to "home life" vs "nicu life. Meaning they are so used to the quiet, monitors, a strict schedule...it was a little bit of a difficult transition for my twins, but my twins were in the nicu for 3 months.....but Ive heard all babies go through a transition phase. also it was SO weird for me because through hospital was literally like my home. so weird never going back

It’s cool hearing you talk about how Maisy is so funny because didn’t your psychic talk about how one of your babies was going to be a comedian? I think she had mentioned Wesley being funny, I could be wrong, but I remember her saying one of them was constantly going to make you laugh. i love that you said you felt greatful for being able to walk freely and realizing that although something so small its never something to take for granted. I have a progressive muscle deteriorating disease and have lost my ability to walk over the past 5 years. i can only walk for very short distances. i feel like people always take walking for granted so it made me feel sohappy for someone to appreciate something so small, cause i would do anything for that ability.

About that feeling of gratitude for just being able to walk and feel good and being able to breathe, I SO get you. I have a chronic illness (generalized myasthenia gravis) that means some days I'm good to go and some times...well, not so much. It's unpredictable so, on those good days? Oh man. Top of the world feeling. So glad for you that you are feeling more like yourself again and your post pregnancy/surgery/delivery aches and pains are on the mend.

I was with my best friend through her nicu experience, she had twin boys they were born at 35 weeks, she was lucky enough to get to bring them home after 2 weeks but it definitely was hard, the dad wasn’t around so I stepped in and am helping raise them so I was there during all of it. The nicu is such a hard experience to go through , It was truthfully a traumatizing thing to go through, where we lived didn’t have a nicu so the baby’s were two hours away from home so we had to stay in hotels, which truthfully made it so much worse, we didn’t get to go home at all. We got so home sick and we had so many nights sitting on top of the parking garages crying wishing we could go home. I’m so sorry you can’t take your babies home but just remember that it could be worse and I’m not disregarding yours or Eriks experiences cause i love y’all and I couldn’t Imagine having to wait as long as you guys are having to wait. You guys are so strong! I just wanted to tell you my story I love y’all and I’m praying for the babies to be home soon ❤️

My baby brother was a NICU baby, and I remember asking "when will my baby brother be home?" every time I saw my dad. The waiting for your babies to be eating well is definitely a struggle, and an emotional one at that. It helps to look forward, to the day those bright bundles of adorableness come home. It's especially cute when you already have little ones, that are just as excited to see their little sibling/siblings!

Am I the only one who’s weirdly exited to see what’s in gus’ advent calendar every day. 😂

How you show that in some moments you can laugh, have dance parties, or feel so much gratitude, and in others you can be overwhelmed, sad, or just exhausted. That’s life. And you’re living it! Your perspective about feeling normal really hits me. Since the pandemic I've had hard time with my body and especially my knees. I hurt every single day. I can't walk without pain. You really don't appreciate things like that until you lose it. Can't wait until I am normal.

I hugely relate to your gratitude for your legs. I'm currently 31 almost 32 weeks pregnant with my third and last baby and I can't move without my pelvis grinding and causing horrid pain. It's 5am here and I haven't slept. Currently sat downstairs so I don't wake my husband or my girls. You're amazing Colleen, it's lovely to see someone to relate to during the worst pregnancy I've ever had. Much love 💕

Hey Colleen, I know you probably will not see this but you are amazing! My grandpa who I live with and are super close with has very late stage 4 cancer and has a week or 2 to live and you have got me through this, you have helped my anxiety so much. When I see a post for you i know it’s me time and I get a break from all my family stress. My dad who I do not live with only has a few months to live and is an alcoholic, this is really hard for me and nobody seems to understand. But seeing you be open about everything and having you post everyday (which is incredible) is helping me and so many other 🥰. Thank you for sharing your life and being an incredible human! you are amazing, brave and your such a strong person and an incredible mom to 3 awesome beautiful children. I’m 13 and you are my role model! We love you! Xxx

At 5:00 with you explaining being so thankful for just being able to go on a walk, I completely feel the same! I’ve had to have many heart surgeries, most of them when I was a baby but (almost) 8 years ago now, I had another and recently an ablation. You don’t realize how much you can lose when it’s so natural, I’m so happy for you! Your babies are BEAUTIFUL!

Dear Coleen, you are such a strong warrior, just think about it: within 10 years or so, the twins will watch this vlog of yours and they will know mommy was waiting for them from the NICU, and loved them so much from the very beginning 💜

Tortilla talk question: what was Flynn’s reaction to see you when you got home from the hospital and what was his reaction seeing pictures of the twins

Colleen, I’m a NICU mama of a 34 weeker. The nurses did not give us an accurate heads up of when she was coming home. My guess is they don’t want to get your hopes up so they err on the side of the longest they think it might take. We didn’t know she would be coming home until they told us to bring her car seat in to do the car seat check, and she went home 1 or 2 days later (can’t remember, that whole time was such a blur!). They also wanted us there basically the entire day before she came home. Make sure you get everything ready for them at home, because they may decide to eat their bottles all of a sudden - you won’t have much time to prepare then and then very quickly they’ll come home!!

The babies are looking so big and strong!! Such sweet baby angels. I know nothing about being a mum or nicu but you’re crushing it, even when you’re crying 💕

As someone with chronic pain for the past 3 years straight, with not 1 pain free day, I understand completely the absolute joy of moments of relief once in a while. I wish I knew that it was going to end at a certain point but hopefully one day soon I will be able to feel that joy I know I will one day hopefully soon.

you saying how grateful you are to walk is very relatable right now. i caught covid and havent had any taste or smell in almost a week. its caused me to completely forget to eat at all for days at a time and when i did, it made me want to cry because it was just a chore with absolutely no enjoyment. i no longer wanted to cook (something i enjoy a lot), i didnt want any of the foods i had and knew i loved even though they were right there and not knowing when or if it would come back at all was terrible on my mental health. but yesterday i could just barely taste a pepperoni and i realized i have about 20% of my taste back (still no smell) and i almost cried over that pepperoni lmao. even if i never get my taste back completely or it comes back with parosmia, im just grateful to have any at all because any amount of flavor is so much better than none at all. never take your taste buds for granted, yall

the twins ESPECIALLY MAISY look so much like flynn! i hadn’t noticed until this vlog. it’s so fun seeing how big and strong they’re getting :) i’m excited to see them grow

Loved what you said about being grateful for basics like walking and having energy and not being in pain. I feel that way every time I recover from a sickness or from having a bad period - just a renewed appreciation for general health and being pain free! I love health - we need to think about that more often and not take it for granted, me included!

I completely get what you mean when you say you're grateful for your legs working. I was paralyzed on my right side in 2019 and when I was able to move again I was so happy. One day I stood on my tippy toes and I burst into tears. Then this year I had an infection in my leg where I nearly lost my leg and I couldn't walk much and when I did it was so painful and horrible. The other day I walked around a whole shopping centre twice and I rang everyone in my family and told them how excited I was to be able to do it again. It's the little things that we should never take for granted
