One of the most disgusting propaganda movies, something Netflix should be ashamed of. At one point they want you to believe that because the Catholic Church is a sinner, she needs healing, she needs to be protected, helped. Then Benedict XVI confesses for his sins, and they cut the sound so you don't hear what he is saying. When the sound comes back we hear him admitting in general terms that, I knew everything, I had everything on the table, and I did nothing, to which a shocked future pope Francis declares him forgiven of his sins. Not only that he did nothing, as cardinal Ratzinger, Benedict sent a letter to all churches asking them to remain silent about the abuse. As a result, Francis too knew about it, so the actor being asked to play surprised is just another terrible lie. Later, after Bergoglio becomes pope Francis, they are shown watching together a soccer match between Argentine and Germany, eating popcorn, drinking soda, laughing and having a good time together. Not a single word or image in the entire movie about the victims of the sexual abuse committed by their priests, and pope Paul John II too knew about it. They also make nothing of the fact that Francis was associated with the military junta in Argentina between 1976 and 1983, when thousands of innocent people disappeared without a trace. The movie makes one want to puke in front of the screen.
