It's the degeneration of culture that today accepts swearing as a joke. The four letter words that were once banned, today are easily spoken on broadcast TV. That's degeneration of culture!
Are you saved? Where will you go when you die? Heaven or hell? The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. Although God's creation was created perfect, having no death, sickness and disease, the creation became corrupted through Adam and Eve in them disobeying God. In this rebellion the creation became fallen through the curse of sin and mankind became separated from God. This world is fallen, but God offers reconciliation to him through his provision at the cross. Ultimately God will restore his creation to perfection when he returns but those that reject his offer of redemption will remain condemned by their sins and go to hell. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, 1 John 3:8 KJV He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT.
I only just recently found the 2 Ronnies on RU-vid and think they're just FABULOUS!! What I am constantly amazed at is their timing! Especially here in this scene!! It's mot only the material but the flawless delivery that is just amazing!! I know they're both gone now - but thank God we have all these sketches on video! RIP dear Ronnie's, I hope you both know how you are making additional generations laugh!!! Such a great legacy!!
They were really on top of their game for years, a hell of a lot better than most of their contemporaries, which is why so much of their material has aged so well. I think Barker probably wrote this one, he was renowned for his wordplay, double-entendres and puns. Like you say, the timing and delivery is absolutely perfect.
Like all comedy duo's, they fell out with each other and couldn't stand being each others company, they stayed in comedy as professional performers until Ronnie Barker died. If you like the two ronnies, you need to look in to "Open all hours" with Ronnie Barker and David Jason (Only fools and horses)
@@thepvporg Thanks so for this! So sorry tho' to hear of their falling out! I have seen Ronnie Corbett on his own - especially the ballet skit! However - what remains is that the two of them - either together or separate - were fabulous. And we were all the more blessed to have benefitted from that.
@@485629 So? It's good. It's absolutely brilliant. But the fact that it's British is neither here nor there. There is good British comedy just like there is good Aussie or American comedy. Do you see comments on Richard Prior's stand-up routine declaring: "American pal...AMERICAN" ? Of course not. Look mate, when you manage to find your other brain-cell, please do us all a favour and stop breathing. Thanks.
"She said the milkman had't been round yet"!!! Ha ha i have tears rolling down my face! I miss these two...used to watch them every week when i was kid.... REAL Saturday night entertainment lol
"She sounds a right little raver. I don't know how she had the energy" "She said the milkman hadn't been round yet." Classic Corbett and Barker. Rest in Peace The Two Ronnies.
@@wop60 rolls are like bread/pastries etc. He says rolls for 20 pence and the other guy says she doesnt! meaning that she rolls over in bed or what have you. Hope this helped.
@@ImYourHuckleberry_29 thanks indeed. Do you think this comedy was one of the best ever in England? Better than fouls and Horses, George and Mildred, or other ones?
@@wop60 well i left London when I was 8 but during my time we had the 2 Ronnies and later when i went back Only Fools and Horses and i enjoy them both but for me the 2 Ronnies are the best of the best.
radbot1 3:05 - Is it me or did Ronnie Barker lose it a tiny bit here when Ronnie Corbett said "I thought it said OXO", he just momentarily laughed at it.
John King Maybe, but then I am fairly sure these were recorded in front of a live audience (that might sound obvious but sometimes they are screened to an audience to get the laugh track, not actually performed) and so he had to pause until the laughing died down before he says the next line.
The Two Ronnies always recorded in front of a live studio audience at the BBC TV Centre in London, I think he didn't expect the big laugh it got which put him off just for two seconds.
Seriously clever line because you actually have to visualise it to see where they're going with that ... and then you'll never be able to see the OXO name quite the same way again :) When comedy changes the way you see a thing, that's genius.
Oh dear, I'd almost forgotten how unbelieveably funny The Two Ronnies were! We were so spoilt for Great British humour in the 70's/80's with these two and Morecambe and Wise in particular! How lucky we were then! xxx
Im a Yank who loves British comedy, you guys were masters at that plus i love series too like Downton abbey and all that stuff,i have never delved in to Morecambe and Wise,as someone that knows this how would you compare them to the 2 Ronnies? totally different humor or similar etc? just wanted your point of view, thank you for your time!!
This was Ronnie Barker at his best. He was a wordsmith and very cleverly orchestrated some wonderful sketches. This was brilliantly delivered and certainly up there in their top 5
This is my favourite sketch. Genius writing by Barker and immaculate comic timing by Corbett. I can watch this over and over again. For discussion: I always thought Corbett's line "Now, where was I?" is a very cleverly and calmly delivered signal to Barker that he had lost his way in the script, it being performed in front of an audience. Barker returns with a seemingly unrelated line that allows Corbett to recover. I hope I am wrong, but if it is true it would show Corbett's amazing stagecraft. R.I.P both.
I think the "Now, where was I?" is scripted. The milk jokes come to an end with "put them in the fridge when i get back" "Now, where was I?" allows for a new direction of subject and puns.
Ahh, absolutely hilarious. Their comedy routines are absolutely the best, no one can come close enough to doing that sort of thing in today's day and age.
You won't find quality comedy like this anymore. It had died out by the late 90's. A lot of similarities between this and the genius Mastermind sketch too.
One Foot in the Grave is one of my all time favorites. I still watch it quite often. Plus Only Fools and Horses, The Good Life, Vicar of Dibley, Red Dwarf, Men Behaving Badly, Dad's Army... so much better than the crap put out today.
Matt Hayes Also worth bearing in mind Renwick wrote these sketches when he was 25! By all accounts he's a bit of a nightmare to work with but what a genius
Didn't realize he was that young. Yes, genius indeed... and again, it makes me sad how much we have lost in the last 20 years or so when it comes to comedy.
I remember a comedy gameshow on ITV called 'Lose a Million' that was basically the Mastermind sketch. The first question would be "What is your name" (to which the contestant wouldn't answer), then the 2nd question would be something which they would answer with their name...etc
This along with the bert second guesser sketches in the pub and of course fork handles or four candles, however you prefer to call it, are my favourites.
This sketch came to mind as I was just placing an order with……Sainsbury’s! This takes me back to a much more comfortable society and when Britain could still produce television programmes of real quality, envied by much of the world - and sold to them as well. The same goes for the music Britain produced. We certainly were something then, instead of the joke we are today.
These two made me laugh so much over the years, brilliant pairing, and Ronnie Barker kept me glued to Porridge, and Open All Hours, had to buy the boxsets once I started earning a wage. Great entertainers, we'll never see anyone this good again... Legends... ☺️👌
she "doesn't" it was in the bloody video you've just watched. i hate when people just comment what we've all heard, but to still get something wrong that you thought was funny and "memorable".... jesus
This could be updated very well for modern times, for example guys people sitting in a train station, back to back on seats having conversation on their mobile phones. It could be done.
Someone did something similar to this sketch ... It was prank where they would go and sit next to persons talking on the phone. The prankster then also pretended they were on the phone aswell... Then the prankster would just reply to the person on the phone. It was pretty funny
I seem to remember an Australian show called Skithouse doing this with two guys on a bus. I can't remember the details except it ended with one of them throwing up.
+Aus80sRockRadio Though, as ways of dying go, peacefully at 85 surrounded by family is about as good as it gets. He'll be missed, by them, and all of us.
