The wrong people come here and make the streets unsafe and demand there ideals be implemented. Theres a right way to immigration and a wrong way. Immigration is literally why we are in the throes of a housing crisis and many communities (my own in Manchester included) are so fractured, why wages have stagnated, why certain violent and/or sexual crimes have increased and is a massive contributor to local and city councils are unable to afford to provide basic services. As a Londoner born and bred - I must point out that it is not a first world city. It is a crime-ridden sh*thole where you cannot find many natives. (By that I mean native Londoners, regardless of race or ethnicity.) Almost everyone here is from _somewhere else._ You get people who have migrated from other parts of the country, who move here for a well paid job and end up inflating house prices and rents. But mostly it's people from other parts of the world. 53% of my borough were not born in the UK. More than half. You barely hear a local accent any more, and quite often you hear foreign languages. London is the second largest French city after Paris. Most of the British people that _are_ here are descended from immigrant populations like I am: be they Irish, Polish, black, Indian etc, so I'm not even talking about race, but culture. There are simply too many people here for the institutions to function properly. And a note on unlimited power: the Tories had a massive majority since 2019 and had been in power since 2010, and could have done anything they wanted, but they didn't change anything that Labour did before them. So much for 'unlimited power'. Labour won't change much either when they inevitably get in after next week's elections, because both parties agree on most things. It's a "Unaparty" system, much like the Dems and Republicans in the States. They're two cheeks of the same arsehole! Nothing will change until we break the two party paradigm.

And the supreme court can overrule any law made by Congress if the public views the law unconstitutional, the way the US government is made is to prevent it from becoming too powerful and hence why we're a federal constitutional republic unlike the UK, likely here in the US whatever the federal government imposes states do not have to follow the laws for example marijuana is legal in many states but under federal law it's illegal basically meaning if you move across state lines the FBI will arrest you. But all I'm not familiar with how the British government and laws are structured but the two party system in America at least it sometimes works, sometimes does not work but overall it works and how there is separation of power between the executive, judicial, legislation, federal government and states it works. But I think we can agree that both our countries are not perfect but I will argue as for the US the two party system under our constitution works.

The Founding Fathers were truly clever guys! Most important (imo) are The Bill of Rights/The Constitution, and the fact that states have their own legislature and laws. This tension between the states and the federal statutes means that each state can run things as they see fit, as long as it doesn't contravene the Constitution. This is extremely valuable and hope my American cousins defend this system long into the future. I would give my left leg to have a Bill of Rights that's 'set in stone' like yours, or even just a First (or Second 👀) Amendment of our own. The problem we have in the UK is that neither of the main political parties truly represents their base anymore. The Conservatives are no longer conservative, and Labour no longer represent the working class. This is why these parties need to go, in my opinion, and make way for new parties.
