what the UFC had set up was genius, the idea that they have such a control over their external journalist and MMA media makes you think that if they really wanted they could cover anything up if they wanted.

Not mentioned here is that part of the reason they pay the fighters so little is that the company has to pay back huge loans incurred when they are purchased for much more than it was "worth" a few years prior. When you start off your ownership very deeply in debt you need to pay off the those loans and you cut other costs anywhere you can. A very sh***y way to run a company when your "product" are often working second jobs in order to get by. Wish it was owned by the fans like the GB Packers, then these kinds of practices could be avoided.

Most UFC youtubers never mention the garbage pay fighters receive. They are just happy making more than the fighters do.

Gonna have to ask ONE for some advice. You don't see Chatry getting a class action suit against him,in fact it seems like all Chatry does is give out $100,000 contracts and bonuses if you get a good KO. I stopped watching the UFC once they for some reason decided to politically align themselves in the slightest. The fuck does politics have to do with who is the best fighter in the world? Disney via ESPN doesn't owned the UFC. Endeavor does by having a majority ownership stake of TKO holdings, which the UFC is under. All ESPN (Disney) has with their relationship with the UFC is the exclusive rights to broadcast UFC events in the US. With that being said, if this lawsuit continues, I wouldn't be surprised if Endeavor will be looking to sell TKO or just UFC to get away from it. Just recently, Endeavor had announced that they'll be going private and agreed to purchase the rest of the remaining shares at over 55% value. This means that they'll be in debt at around $4.6B. The last thing they want right now is to acquired more debt.

But how much does boxing pay in % to their fighters? This seems like a better comparison than a non combat league sport. How much does the olympics pay their athletes?
