I have played a lot of the Forza games 1-7. The only thing that its good for honestly is Rivals. Online racing is always a wreckfest, there is no racecraft. I refuse to get the current game, since it looks like nothing has changed and nothing will change unless they remove bashers from the lobbies of racers. Its simple, add safety rating on hits/offtracks, and just sort the lobbies by the safety rating, then by skill. I would rather race with clean drivers of unequal skill than dirty drivers of the same skill.
They implemented that sort of system this year, the HUGE issue with it is that when it can't fill a lobby with all the same player types it just fills the gaps with whoever and during races it's very clear who is who. The penalties are also very inconsistent. Seeing as though you're seasoned with this game I will assume you know who Jonk1969 is. Even with his presence in the lobby these people were still reckless. The new rating system goes 1000-5000 for skill and Letter grades for safety. I think D is the lowest and S is the highest. I rank S 4993 right now with my rating dropping slightly from races like these which is no problem. I know where I stand on leaderboards if I really wanna go after it. Secondly, I apologize for the rant here and your reasoning is valid. I REALLY wish they could get it ironed out for all of us. Too many people focus on securing the win no matter the cost where as when you get a legitimate and competitive lobby everybody is far more pleased to have a clean race and finish lower. I wish people could accept it isn't all about winning. Have a clean race, get the fastest lap you can, and have fun.
You put it perfectly too. I'd rather be in a lobby against all the esports teams and competitive guys and be a second or 2 off pace and finish last if it means I had a good clean and quality race.
@@PRM_Gh0st I have always valued the battle over the finishing position. When you have a great CLEAN battle for 5th place, that is more memorable than any runaway win with wrecks behind! When I was playing Forza regularly, and racing online, I almost always raced in the ghosted class races so that bashers were never an issue. I am a semi-pro RC racer, and my racecraft is pretty sound, and I switched over to iRacing to scratch the itch of sim racing mostly because the community tends to race cleaner due to harsher penalty system. But, there is something about the feeling of Forza, about the tire model that I have always liked and why I would regularly hotlap in rivals even when doing other activities. I just wish there were options to offset the ghost or remove the ghost with a quick button press if very close with it and dont want to miss a brake point.
That would be a great addition! A lot of us have been asking for a radar type of system as well. I think both of those things would vastly improve the online environment.
@@PRM_Gh0st Forza has a LOT of potential. Especially for a console focused simcade. I just think that they let it run wild too much and most of the more competitive racers have moved on to a more serious platform. As I have... I really only resorted to turning laps in rivals to keep in rhythm for my RC racing, and then would play FPS games to work on reflex. So I can focus train different elements when Im not at the RC track. True sim racing is a bit different, with wheel/rig, I dont feel that it trains the same way as a controller does in Forza. I also felt that the tuning aspects of Forza worked well with setup approach for RC. Its not directly comparable, but most tuning outside of dampers was very translative.
to be fair its the game itself and the way the online racing is set up that breeds this shitfest. atleast when their were lobbies, you could kick unsportsman like racing. now there is no active penalty at all
@@PRM_Gh0st i really enjoyed 20 minutes of qualifying/practice for my game to crash once the race started. oh and everyone taking every nudge personal and corner bombing, oh and people sending me angsty messages because i rammed them. the game is trash, the handling is trash, the physics are trash, banning players for ramming in a game is TRASH, microsoft is trash.
This is exactly why I've abandoned online racing in all racing games. Between all the ramming and "meta" cars all joy and fun has been stripped out. What's the point of having 100s of cars when everyone uses the same 5.
I agree! I refuse to use the meta cars unless I poke into leaderboard play. It's a lot more fun competing with the lesser cars in my opinion. Makes it more enjoyable and I like the challenge.
Exactly the reason why I don't play Motorfest anymore. People are childish and some of the worst driving that I have ever seen in a public lobby, some people even get rewarded for poor play too like pinballing off the walls in S-curves to rarely get slowed down from a guy who drives into the S curves properly or being a total asswipe and ramming people off the road/blocking faster drivers because they have 0 skill. Also the Single player campaign is boring as hell too and nothing like the older racing games of FM4/GT6/MC:LA/Classic NFS titles that I just went back playing on original hardware.
they need to permaban these fools. but im sure they wont cuz daddy Microsoft needs every penny at this moment or there will be no more Forza (which im actually cool with, its getting stale, peak for me was FM6/FH3)
Generally speaking I have a pretty decent experience online because of where I rank online! Most races are relatively clean for me anymore, BUT races like these still happen.
While you're correct you'll notice I almost never break when the line says too and is usually far after. I struggle to see indicators on the sides while I'm playing so I use them so I can focus more on a clean racing experience. The lines in this game aren't that great.
The developer in the lobby is Jonk1969. He's the developer that actively plays in lobbies to ensure that people are racing clean and if they aren't they get the ban hammer. So it was the ideal lobby for him to be in 😂
I used to love the old gran turismo games but im not buying a whole console just to play one game. If they pulled their fingers out and released it on PC then I'd be all over it. Assetto is better anyway.
