For those saying his real accent came out..its not about that. When you live in 2 places or grew up in 2 cultures, you can easily switch accents cos its in you.Listen to Italian or Spanish Americans..they can sound American or Spanish/Italian..depending on who they are talking to.Same as Jamaicans, indians and many more cultures. He went into the Naija mode deliberately. It is very much possible to have a genuine dual accent
Not even dual, I gabon we have many accents depending on the region you're from and i can switch between many of them without realizing depending who i'm with (sometimes slightly, or sometimes more radical when speak with people from my home village) Same in France where i Live now. When i came i used to live in "poor" neighborhood with a lot immigrants and the way of speak is very different from when i hang with my Inner Paris friends or people i hang with in College (white people *cough* *cough*). same here i don't even realize when I switch.
#Facts i switch from english to somali to dutch to eithopian language and im somali i switch them in instant depending on what language the person i speak to is speaking so i can totally vouch for that
@KXNG KXNG He's fully got feminine hair (especially as an African, my African mom would box my head in if I dared getting my hair done like that. It's considered feminine out there. Just like earrings are considered feminine out there)...and I've seen him wear skinny jeans and all that.
Ebuka Enoka nah it doesn’t matter we are African before anything y’all dumb ass mindsets of separations is the reason it’s so easy for people to steal from Africa dang son it’s 2018 you still don’t get it
Burna fits in nicely in the UK diaspora. He's loved in UK, and his music is on everybody's lips in Europe. Thank you Burna for also reciprocating love to the UK, book signing, giving them two nice parties and for recognizing and making you're well deserved the, I told them so number one.
@Easy Bandz real talk Partner numbers hardly correlate to emotions, vibes/Feelings & etc. There's really no price tag on art nor creativity... BOB Marley was a real one!!
It's hard to believe he only stayed in London for 2years and gained the full accent!🤔 he's a genius ! He was born in naija, went to school there and came to London to do uni but dropped out after two years so how he mastered the accent in short amount of time 😂 brilliant!
He grew up in the uk, he only left uk when he got caught up in a madness that involved someone getting stabbed, everyone that says he stayed in the uk for a little bit is chattin 💩
I appreciate that Burna is trynna be humble by down talking numbers. But he should also understand that numbers are not just statistics... Those numbers represent the things he just asked for in this video such as; touching lives, impacting the people, etc... Embrace the numbers, it's just a confirmation of your greatness.
The numbers are the number of ppl he connected with through his music. The numbers are just representation for ppl thts just how society represents us online and in reality as numbers.
Numbers can be nonsense sometimes... No disrespect to the Queen, but you go out there and take Anaconda video by Niki and look at the numbers... They are very high, but what kind of impact - that Burna is referring to - does that video have on people? What does it confirm? There are songs out there with less than 1M views or that never topped any charts but they've touched way more lives. I think that's what Burna is referring to... Plus, artists who are obsessed with the numbers end up getting out of the way, you know, and end up doing what everyone else is doing because that's what's getting the numbers... I think that's what Burna is talking about
Burna maybe explosive and controversial but he is not hypocrite he says as it is. Plus he creates work for many people by his huge entertainment company. I think Nigeria whines and they are always criticizing and some even disparage Burna.....can't blame him to give them a break. No matter what he does, and of course, Burna not backing down he reacts to almost every thing so there seems to be bitter sweet love between Nigeria and Burna. Burna is a hard working man, who gives his best and who has a good heart, even though he can be explosive and controversial. But situations and peoples attitude shape us to be this way at times. Great Nigerian artistes....Burna, Davido, Wizkid, Rema.... thank you Nigeria for your beautiful people and you're all talented, beautiful people. God bless you. And please love your artistes and shout out to them as they are a brand and great export for the mother country.
why do i always see certain nations on NIGERIAN vids with mainly disparaging comments. but on their videos i hardly see as many clearly Nigerian comments which i would expect from a country of its size
@@chrisoghenetegamaloney5799 being a proud Ghanaian man, I could not disagree more with that statement. Myself and many of my people love this broda among other Nigerian artists to death
Big up Burna. U.K. afrobeats scene did help push Afrobeats not Afrobeat across the world. Plus fusing the genre with Caribbean music genres, Hiphop, R&B, South African House, funky house. Afrobeats didn’t do it on its own. Cmon. It’s true doe. It’s all Afro-Fusion, Afro-Pop, Afro-Dancehall, Afro-Swing now.
manifergi do you even listen to Fela? Do you know how big he was you? His music had nothing to do with Caribbean music, if you said jazz influences then yes but if you don’t know Naijas history stfu.
UK aint even doing good Afrobeats its stale ASF...Naija created UK Afrobeats we influenced yall best artist they copied and practice the sounds that was coming out of Nigeria yall didnt even listen to fela.. Thank Naija for influncing and creating that version of afro you guys are doing over there.Something is always off.yall should stick to Grime well yall switching to hiphop anyways
@@ladiolorunfunmi4538its not Afrobeat. Just like Burna said, the Uk artists are doing Afro-Pop,Afro-fusion and Afro-Swing. They are merging the Afro sound with different genres such as R&B, New Jack Swing, Dancehall, Calypso, Soca, Hiphop, Pop and a few others. I will agree that a lot of it is not high quality music but they are trying to get into the mainstream and be heard by the world. Generally when artists do that regardless of what genre they are in, the quality of their music goes down. Thus losing the core audience within that genre. But i will not deny that the Uk Afro scene helped the Afro sound be as popular and influential as it is today. Along with the help of Fuse ODG, Wizkid and others did do a lot for the popularity of Afro-Pop/Afro-Fusion music across the world and reaching the mainstream outside of Africa. Fuse ODG's song Antenna co-signed by Wyclef Jean (Haitian legend & Global Superstar) in 2010 or 2011 kick started everything. And Fuse was doing it from London, England correct me if i am wrong. So yes the UK did contribute to the current success of Afro music in the mainstream whether it be Afrobeats, Afro-Pop etc.
manifergi hold up wyclef already had a song with a Nigerian before he did that song with fuse and fuse tryna make some Ghanaian sounds out there in UK... but we dig he’s Ghanaian after all and we all African.. y’all can keep making them... Jhus, kojo, Kojey, krept, they all cool tho I won’t lie man still vibe to some...
Oh my God this man is a musical genius!😍 I am so mad I came late to the Burna Boy party, only 2 years ago did I first hear him (The States - PA). This man is so intelligent, SO unbelievably real that he is a breath of fresh air! BURNA is SO seductive without trying, so attractive, Alpha Male, his swag, his integrity, his passion, his rawness, his soul.... women love him, men love him (no homo), kids adore him...he is a GOAT LEGEND. BURNA: YES! YOU ARE SO F'N WOKE!! FUCK DEM NUMBAHS! DE GIFTS, JUST KEEP DEM COMIN'.... & CUMIN', & CUMIN', & CUMIN'.....👅👅💦💦 😉😆😍 NO MATTER HOW MUCH LIFE CHANGES, KEEP DISCIPLINED, REMAIN TRUE DE CHARACTER, MAINTAIN BALANCE & INTEGRITY.... YOU WILL NEVER LOSE!!! 👑👑👑💓💓💓😍😍😍
Ok, im confused here, since when was the UK ever really doIng Afro-Beats? If my memory is correct, the only African-infused music that UK artist where making was mainly "UK Funky House" but Afro-Beats??? Is Fuse ODG and Donaeo style musicians considered Afro-Beats?
He grew up in London before leaving after a stabbing madness, don’t let all dem liars tell u otherwise. U know a London accent is extremely hard to imitate when ur foreign, it’s not like a North American accent, he’s familiar with the lingo and mannerisms of ends
Is that necessary i never understand dat bout u guys Ghanaian dnt diss u ir mention u but for some reason were jokes. Its soo rude especially as ur country is in tatters and ppl are selfish
Micah Jones yes so true. Idk why every country in Africa is against each other. One want to think they are better than the other. They all need to stop the nonsense and come together. It’s just stupid. They fight over the stupidest things. Who’s jollof is the best and who stole who’s jollof recipe. When they pray and thank Jesus for all they’re blessings. They need to know he is judging them for their foolishness. Maybe they should ask for forgiveness for the stupidity.
What accent yall talking about of course it had to come out cos uk was tryna jack our music so he had to separate himself from uk accent to put the record straight with African accent that way yall get the foundation of real afrobeat in fela’s African accent lol after that, he switched to his uk accent now that’s gangster lol
This interviewer kept talking about numbers, I agree with Burna just appreciate the music It's almost like you're trying to disrespect his work as if to say if he wasn't doing so called numbers a lot of media outlets wouldn't be checking for his music. C'mon as a media brand and an industry presenter you guys need to do better. Picking up small things like him previously saying he doesn't care about numbers means you shouldn't be mentioning it again. Talk about some of the tracks you liked or how it made you feel when you heard it or which track resonated with him most off the album. Sheesh its not that hard just appreciate the music!!
I don't get what all this hate is for... Nigerians have influenced your culture since the beginning of time. History shows that a large percentage of Nigerians living in the outskirts migrated to Ghana in the early 1800's. We are the largest population in Africa!!! Lagos as a city is more populous than the whole of Ghana. If anyone's influencing anybody it's certainly not Ghana influencing Nigeria. You guys need to stop with the bullshit... stop being so insecure. I bet 60% of Ghanaians would trace their roots to Nigeria if they took an ethnic DNA test. THE ONLY REASON YOU ARE A PART OF THE MUSIC SCENE IS BECAUSE U LEARNT FROM US. Drake is Canadian... very much Canadian, doesn't mean his music is from there... Hip hop has been influenced by different cultures, but it still stays American. The same goes for Afro beats... it started here, you might have some influence on the culture, but it was built here! and we have influenced your kind of music more than u care to admit, but you don't see us trying to claim it. Lord God!
@@dboydayo_ firstly. Respect to you for replying and being matured about it. I understand is angle as a journalist. And I respect it. U gotta do ur job n do justice to it. @@dboydayo_ its me again. Just seeing your very involved with your fan base. You have just won anotber suscriber. Will big u up and looking at new materials. Big up Bro #AFRICAWINS
What's the tea with Ghanaians and Nigerians. Like why are they beefing and how did it start. I'm just curious, they seem to have conflict even about rice.
But some people get a bit...I dunno, like...Eazi blew up a few years ago using Ghanaian beats and speaking Ghanaian pidgin/some Twi and Ghana people rushed to claim him, even though he's full blooded Nigerian, so that brought ire from Nigerians. Idk, people always find a way to start beefing on the internet. But it's all love in real life though.
What a hell, If ghanian's want to grow their own music, does that mean they should stop listening to other's music or conderming others ? They should go and borrow sense😑
If fela wasn’t nigerian wud u guys still give him ratings? I ask as im not a fan of his music but ppl tlk like hes the greatest Greatest ever musician from west Africa wud be meiway for me
Yes we would because he was more than a musician. He was an activist and a social commentator. He was an actual movement for which himself and his family suffered persecution for because he really spoke for the people and criticised the government oppression of the day.His mother was beaten and died of her injuries and she was also an activist for the people . He lived his songs, Fela was imprisoned hundreds of times including once for almost two years but he never stopped speaking against injustice and for the ordinary Nigerian people with this music. The current President actually put Fela in jail when he was military head of state. You don't have to be a fan of his music though. We don't mind that but to us he is a hero.
@@OluremiOshin I know he can't...no one even knows him....he might be the greatest to y'all but fela is globally recognized for a reason... don't insult fela by comparing him to this person
@@Maameelle78 And we don't take much notice of your skin lightening pills popping asses either. Teapot calling the kettle black. If you don't take much notice then why are you here? Mr eazi that made afrobeat more acceptable where did he get it from.ask wandy coal and wizkid why they all went to Ghana at the peak of the careers... what really happy naija is population.fuse pave way for afrobeat here in London.all you people know is insults pls learn.
all the mean is tryna to say is the name "afrobeats" which is what we call all music from africa that has that pop feel club dance tone to it. im gambian been listening to naija music since ealry timaya 2face days when Salone music was up there before naija completely took over. back the we had no name for it just african music i guess. that music today is call "afrobeats". so burna talking about history and Fela missing the point- the world calls it afrobeats so afrobeat afrofusion afropop we the wrold call it afrobeats sorry that rubs the roots the wrong way
Facts if you measure the success of music by the numbers it will destroy it and then eventually you will have 100 soulja boys 😂 focus on the quality fuck the numbers
Nope, how many people have bought his shit. It's money EVERY interviewer drives at...U sober af lmfao. Burna on his JAY Z shit. He's trynna spread game but all people worried bout is numbers
There are two different numbers. Some artistes can do 20 million views on the tube and live they can't keep 200000 engaged. That's why Burna is saying he doesn't do numbers.
The Afrobeats vs Afrobeat bullshit is so annoying,.... there is ONE AfroBEAT!,.. period. and the rest of these genre or sub-genre can be called any other thing.
Afrobeats started in Nigeria and has nothing to do with Ghana. Stop telling lies, makes Ghanaians look insecure. Who were the Ghanaian musicians that thought Fela how to play Afrobeats? name the musicians?
@@MrSivram28 In 1967, he went to Ghana to think up a new musical direction.[6] That was when Kuti first called his music Afrobeat. (6] Albert Oikelome. "Stylistic Analysis of Afrobeat Music of Fela Anikulapo Kuti"). We don't argue byheart we come with facts. Nigerians always have followed Ghanaians in everything we do. Please go and read history before you come chatting kwasiasem
@@MrSivram28 who he learnt it from? You clearly don't understand what I'm saying. In ghana we had a genre known as high life, which had many influence such jazz and reggae. Fela came to ghana and got inspired by high life and called his music afrobeat.
mm smith That’s his accent so.... What are you disappointed about? He was raised in the U.K.south London specifically, so he would have an accent. You’re Disappointed because of where his parents decide to reside? I’m baffled.
@@mslondonlove1435 A man was born and raised in Naij. Idk how this myth got spread about. He only went London for uni, and that was like two years, then he went back to Naij. He just changes his accent like a lot of Nigerians do.
Afrobeat started in Ghana, and fela copied it go check ur history go check the time he started making afrobeats and wat Ghana was makin. And now history is repeating itself Mr.eazi came to 🇬🇭 got influenced with the sound took it and called it Banku Music ever since he did dat, Nigerians have fully copied the sound coming from Ghana and now their beat is slow asf, and they don’t have the original flows to do it so they water it down. im a big fan of Nigerian music but now they are all copying the beats from 🇬🇭 so now I rather listen to 🇬🇭 music.
