I enjoy them occasionally but I've seen this case covered by other RU-vidrs and it can definitely be done in one video with a good amount of information. I don't think every case needs multiple videos, but that's just my opinion.
“I have no idea what a 20 year old man sees in a 14 yo girl” LITERALLY. It’s vile. If the roles were reversed it’s vile too. Idk how people condone that sht.
Right. I feel like there's nothing an undeveloped person can give to a grown adult that another consenting and aware adult can't. Even if they do seem "mature for their age" or they "look older than they are". Kids often don't understand the gravity of any situation that they're in and it's disgusting and unfair of sick adults to take advantage of that aspect.
Bluntly, it’s the youth itself that they see. They’re not looking for the qualities offered by a consenting adult; those are too mature, in form and thought. They want children and young adults for the ease of control, the malleability, and frankly the physique. Don’t look for rational rationale (if you will) from someone like that. They’re not looking for what healthy people seek in a relationship.
@@davidalan528 that's literally how i met my boyfriend. I was 14 and he was 21, we stayed in contact for over a year and now we started year 7 of our relationship. Of course it's not always like that but come on let people be

I feel so bad, in a lot of these cases, dog walkers always find the bodies of the victim, like imagine just trying to exercise your dog and you just see a dead body on the ground. :(
AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! PAAAAAIIIINNNN!!!!!! I broke my hand yesterday because of the hate comments I get all the time. I was so angry that I punched a hole in my computer. Please don't hate me, dear fla
I met Dennehy once, when I was working in a homeless hostel (the facial tattoo sticks in the mind). She was visiting a friend who was a resident, and came across as polite and friendly. Just shows you that you can never really know someone until you REALLY get to know them.

I have diagnosed PTSD and I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the warnings that you give throughout your video. Seriously, makes me emotional
the "click out of this video i'm sure i'll see you again soon" is SO pure because that affects her channel and most likely pay. she's willing to sacrifice the benefits in order to save a strangers mental state/health😭🙏🏼
Hi I just wanted to say that this is so important!! I really appreciate Eleanor for this because I have come across some creators who say things like "I don't give warnings because why would you be watching true crime if it'll bother you" like... we don't know what the case entails so we don't know if it'll bother us?? And true crime isn't just for neurotypical people???
@@ghostproof4964 I agree completely. I have CPTSD and am a recovering addict, so knowing what to avoid is massive, especially since it can and does trigger psychotic outbreaks (for which I have meds, but like... Before they kick in things can get serious and used to get way worse before I was medicated).
The creepy thing is Gary Stretch was someone I knew as he lived literally 30 seconds away and was always pleasant and would call me Bon Jovi for having the long hair and wearing eyeliner. It is scary how people you once knew ended up being people you wished you never knew.
Right! I was just thinking this. Now the image she had of her “loving & devoted” husband is forever tainted. I’d be so pissed how do you even grieve like that.
To be entirely honest, I find it hard to feel bad for the boyfriend. I feel awful for the kids and all the trauma living thru having her as a mom and not having a mom, and then the publicity of the case. But let's remember he's a groomer. It doesn't matter if he ended up being the one who liked her more and wanted to be with her, he dated a 14 year old. I just turned 20 myself and even dating a 17 year old would make my skin crawl. He dated an actual child and was instrumental in her running away from home and being homeless for a year, so I just can't feel bad about her cheating on him. His ordeal regarding the children was sad, but it doesn't forgive what he did at the beginning.
making bad decisions does not make someone an entirely bad person, and you can feel sympathy for him and also disgust at the same time. people aren’t black and white
@@XYZ-kb3mm that... was my point? that i do acknowledge it was a bad thing that happened to him, but that i don't feel bad for him bc i see him as a bad person for GROOMING A MINOR. black and white sure. but infidelity and statutory rape aren't exactly comparable
@@leagaillard755 well it wasn't just infidelity but she abused him and the kids + neglected them so idk. yea he is for sure wrong for grooming her but still he was a good father to his kids unlike their mother
I was groomed at 14 by a man in his mid 20s. And it took me decades to recover from the trauma he inflicted. I always knew right from wrong, however. My trauma didn't end up "causing" me to hurt others.
I agree she is looking amazing. Very healthy, both physically and emotionally. You are a very interesting intelligent lady. Thank you for your hard work and attention to detail.
off topic but let's talk about how friggin CUTE eleanor looks here 🥺 (edit: just wanna say i commented this before she got into the crime story, if it seems inappropriate)
I know. I didnt want to comment on it first, but she's so beautiful with minimal makeup. (honestly her YT thumbnails don't do her justice, and that says a lot cuz of course she's beautiful in those 2)
so I've literally been watching Eleanor for 9 hours straight while doing my school projects which are due tomorrow.. It's almost 3 am here and I was so glad when I found she posted this right now because I was running out of videos and I am gonna pull an all nighter today lolll.
Menstrual blood wouldn't typically drench a mattress the way someone whom has bled out would, and officers I'm sure would be able to tell, or bring in a crime scene expert at least.
That was my first thought too. Then I considered the amount of blood needed to stain to that degree and ..... unless a woman was bleeding out following a serious haemorrhage of some kind, it wouldn't fit the stain.
I do feel sorry for them, but no matter the situation you can make a good life for yourself. It may be harder, dont let your background define your future ❤
I love how respectful you are towards the victims and your audience. As someone with PTSD and severe anxiety I appreciate the warnings you make before you start the case. Not enough true crime youtubers do that
I’m sorry but I don’t feel sad for John AT ALLLL. What does a grown man have in common with a 14year old? A child? He broke her family’s hearts , Joanna broke his 🤷🏾♀️
Both parties are in the wrong tbh. John in his own right and Joanna in her own. Joanna is also wrong for abusing him as well. Just like there's no excuse for grooming there's no excuse for abusing
I do agree with you to a certain extent like he definitely didn’t help Joanna or her family but although he’s a creepy man, like yuck being attracted to a child as an adult is so many levels of wrong, he didn’t deserve the physical and emotional abuse he was given. It sounds like he developed Stockholm’s syndrome and battered wife syndrome (if men can get it) which is truely abhorrent, no person no matter who they are deserve to be treated in such a way. In saying all that I just hope that their daughter can move past her parents and become the person she want to be.
@@EagleBoxx yes but a lot of personality disorders, especially cluster b and antisocial personality disorder mostly stem from a traumatic experience. these disorders can just be inherently biological but people tend to show symptoms from a very early age. it does make me think that maybe something traumatic may have happened to her for her brain to just switch like that seemingly out of nowhere
@@dem0litionsss Yeah coming to say the same - and as you said especially cluster b personality disorders can often stem from a traumatic experience, or they are biological as you said. Sometimes some symptoms can appear in early childhood but then triggered into a more full-blown response post trauma.
the only people i felt bad for in the whole joanna and the bf's relationship were the children lol. like yay for you getting yourself and your innocent kids away from a toxic person you helped make, you groomer.
Hey Eleanor. I was wondering if you would ever consider covering the case of Marc Dutroux? He was a horrible man who kidnapped and essentially murdered of young girls in Belgium. The case is still very delicate in Belgium but I have never heard anyone talk about it online. I feel like you would be great in covering it respectfully. It is also very interesting and shows the failure of the police system and the outrage of the people.
I actually prefer the multiple part ones I would prefer long ones if I’m honest. Great work love how much detail and effort goes into your videos. Keep up the good work xx
@@binkysuebob Yes. Stephanie Harlowe is absolutely amazing. She gives very detailed about not only the victims; but the people also involved in the cases. Not Eleanor and Stephanie are my favorites. @@C_0414 just watch her past videos if you really miss her that much. That's what I do. I've never noticed that she didn't keep her promises. Stop putting pressure on her.
A few years ago joanna was placed in the same prison department as Rose West, and Joanna made Rose's life a misary, she bullied rose and even threatened to kill her, to the point the prison had to relocate Rose
That’s a myth! Rose was transferred to make room for Joanna. Low Newton has specialised units/wings. Rose was transferred to another prison In order to make room for Joanna, this was because the authorities believed that Joanna could be rehabilitated but Rose would never be. They didn’t have the resources to keep two high profile female murderers so Rose was moved before Joanne arrived. They never crossed paths at all
Right? Some things people do while having thisbkind of disorders are so sad and dangerous. But in all honesty, it isnt a reason to do the things she did
It greatly depends of the personality disorder. Cluster B personality disorders are usually emotionally unstable. This includes borderline personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder and histrionic personality disorder. I have avoidant personality disorder which is a cluster c personality disorder which are usually characterized by extreme shyness and fearfullness ect. I don't let people near me (I have never had a relationship and I'm soon 35 years old) and I only trust my family members. It's sad that there are still a lot of people who don't understand that not all personality disorders are alike. not saying that you don't understand that but I have seen a lot of comments on youtube assuming that every personality disorder is the exact same, when there are a lot of different ones.
@@isadoramoon7521 I was diagnosed with 3 personality disorders. I am diagnosed with BPD, OCPD and AvPD. I also have autism so you can imagine what life is like with me. The way they all interact with each other and bounce of each other makes for a very tumultuous experience. So many people will stop being my friend because of how.... erratic I can act when under severe stress. I initially went in for a diagnosis for BPD so imagine my shock when I hit every criteria for 3 different personality disorders, only to then be told I'm also autistic. I know my experience is uncommon, even the psychiatrist remarked that they don't normal diagnose people with multiple different ones but he was at a loss for what to do with me. I think personality disorders are so misunderstood and under researched that they just don't have understand everything that there is to them. I honestly believe that with more research I could end up being diagnosed with just one personality disorder, maybe a new personality disorder they haven't discovered yet, maybe they'll name it after me lol, I know for certain I at least have BPD because that's the one I feel the most affecting me day to day. I think I'm at a point where I have so much mentally wrong with me that it cancels out and I act like a normal person haha.
I love your two parters Eleanor!! Also I’m living for how much content you’ve been giving us lately! I love you girl! Make sure you’re looking after yourself as well! You look marvelous.
"i have no idea what a 20 year old man sees in a 14 year old girl" sadly, he sees a vulnerable person who he can easily manipulate and control. that's usually the case with situations like this. the fact that he "waited" until she hit the legal age of consent is concerning enough (i don't believe he waited tbh) it means he knew she was too young for him, but he went after her anyways. adults who "date" minors much younger than them are disgusting. there's so much mental and physical development that happens when you're a teenager, and these gross predators can have life-long negative effects on the young people they prey after. btw, i don't mind the multi-part cases. it means you put extra effort into giving us every detail about the case, and it really shows in the quality of your work. love your video as always! even though they're so heartbreaking and horrible, they remind me to cherish the good people in the world
I’ve been with someone who was older than me by like 5 years when I was 15 however his mental state was younger and he had no idea about sex or anything like that his mental state was much younger than his actual age. He suffered tons of trauma as a kid so he stopped maturing after a certain point.
@@kaitlincoulter1811 as long as you weren’t a minor and he was a grown adult then his mental age doesn’t matter. A mental age is the excuse MAPS use to excuse their predatory behavior. Mental age is irrelevant when a minor and an adult are involved.
We can never assume that someone's childhood was normal and trama free. IT IS NOT AN EXCUSE OR HOW ALL TRAUMATISED PEOPLE BEHAVE. But she presents as a classic CSA survivor.
That’s what i thought from the sudden change of personality however my sister hit puberty and became so horrible and it was found later though therapy and doctors that it was literally just hormones so her sudden change does completely give csa vibes but it is possible for it to literally just be puberty
We also can’t make the assumption that everyone who’s ever committed a serious crime had an awful childhood and experienced a lot of trauma. Sometimes people are just absolutely heinous creatures and that’s just who they are, despite having a normal, abuse free childhood…
not necesarely personality disorders( like the one she was diagnosed with) tend to start manifesting during the teenage years or adulthood and while yes these disorders can be caused by trauma they can just be genetic
I could see this honestiy. Especially with her interesting kinks. It's a strange, but common trauma response to be into that stuff after something like that happens to you. Especially if it was done by somebody you feel you were supposed to love and trust.
That’s definitely plausible, but there could be other factors that contributed to her diagnosis. Just wanted to say that there is no existing medication for ASPD, so that was false info. Maybe she was given meds for smth else like anxiety, mood stabilizers or smth, but there is no medication that one would actually prescribe specifically for ASPD.
She 1000000000% was SA’d bc the guy was 20 and she was 14. Even if nothing happened till she was 16 it’s still R bc the grooming makes it so there is no consent
As well as using Dennehy to threaten people he was also cheating on his wife with her. The sexual relationship probably also constituted part of the rent, so he wasn’t a good person at all.
Yeah, could you imagine being the wife and finding that out about your husband after he was found murdered, and it was her first relationship? That poor woman.
Gotta question old mates extremely unethical approach to the 'trade' between himself and Joanna. Offering housing to help people, often people that were released from jail or had a criminal history THEN asking Joanna to help him evict people in a manner that was intimidating- encouraging her to continue not only to be aggressive and intimidating but involved in criminal activity 🙄. NO Im NOT saying he at all deserved to be hurt in ANY way but jesus thats dodgey and dangerous dealings😬🤯
Also the fact that people r like “well they were criminals” like I thought u said it was good of him to take in vulnerable people like Johanna ? Which is it ? Cause it sounds to me like he used two criminals to threaten other potential victims.
@@hacktplanet450 He was no doubt kind, but true kindness has no mind to ask for things in return. He took advantage of clearly unstable and vulnerable people and ultimately it didnt work out very well. sad situation all round, if only he had stayed the F away from Joanna and treated her like any other tenant 😔
I love Eleanor and her detailed information in her videos. She is always so respectful to the victims and families. Her disclosure at the beginning is another example of how she respects victim and the subject matter.
Agree. What happened is a tragedy regatldess. At first he seemed great but the first red flag was learning he had hired 2 ex con goons to rough up his tenants who couldn't pay rent... that makes him seem more like hes taking advantage of the vulnerable tbh
As a wife myself, that part made me so angry. Eleanor said his wife saw him as her bestfriend but he clearly didn't value her that much. He was definitely not a truly good person.
How the first victim was found to humiliate him reminds me of how my uncle was found when he was murdered. He was stripped naked and thrown on a front lawn of a house on a busy street, the killers have never been found and convicted (even though to us as the family we know who it was) It’s an unsolved case in Australia that has never been mentioned as an unsolved case here.. I’ve tried getting the story out on RU-vid channels like this even with little information we have about the woman we know had the biggest part in it but no one ever covers it because there’s nothing online about it so everyone thinks it’s fake.. our family who were changed because of this have almost all passed, I just know our family will leave this earth never getting answers or at least some help on finding the people who were involved in the murder and bringing them to justice.
I'm late here, but try emailing YouYubers, (if you haven't already), rather than posting down in the comments. Maybe seek a PI of there's money and time? I'm so sorry you and your family are suffering with not only this loss, but the lack of justice and answers.

does anybody else wonder if police have ever found a bloody mattress and it ended up just being period blood? every single time I hear about the police searching someone's house and finding blood on a mattress always makes me think about that
Same. Lol. I guess it depends on HOW MUCH blood but a small pooling even could be a heavy period especially if you start in your sleep and don’t wake up. Sometimes you just don’t feel it…

You know, that man genuinely seemed like the best possible landlord, like just so kind for him to have tenets that you know are struggling and understand that
I don't consider a married man sleeping with his tenant to be a good landlord. Or a good anything, frankly. Joanna is a nutjob but she was also vulnerable; I have no doubt he exchanged sex for rent from her. That's not a good landlord.
@@bunny12466 I don’t think her relationship with an older man had anything to do with the things she went on to do. So many girls have been through similar and worse even by being groomed into relationships with violent men, Joanna is manipulative and rotten to her core
kevin literally cheated on his wife + hired people to threaten tenants who couldn't pay rent, so why are we acting like he's some sort of kind, genuine, incredible person..? I don't mean to talk badly about someone who has passed away, and I am in no way saying he deserved what happened to him - but there's also no need to glorify him.
I love your multi-part stories. It just shows how much you put into them.
