Great to see you guys thrifting. Defently some carboot tax being added. I never thought wooden train set was that great but actully there is some value in it. As I said when I met you your open minded And it's refreshing seeing different things picked up and you give hope to people who want to have a go. I almost choked on the Dr Martin and the large pans that they want serious money for. Great volcanic orange pick up.

It was great about 25 years ago. We used to go all of the time, when there were people selling to offload their gear once a year and the buyers were there after particular items for themselves. Sadly, now it's full of people doing it as a job, trying to make money. The romance has left the building. I suppose it's a sign of our times. People don't aim for quality now, they want Brands.

Just a thought, you say £1 into £10 isn't amazing, but when you look at it as percentages that's a 1000% mark up so you're doing well. Turn £1 into £10 10 times and you've turned £10 into £100. I resell too and I look at things this way when buying cheaper items because 900% profit sounds better than £9 profit 😂

It's a brilliant percentage but you need to sell a lot of them to make any money! I prefer a sale of maybe £20 into £60-£80+ even though percentage not as good, the value builds up quicker! Maybe I'm just being lazy 😅💚

Seems like this early in the season it's alot of dealers who've bought at auction over the winter trying to get full wack at your carboot. I just walk on if the first thing I ask about is way over priced imo. Fair play they need to make their money too, I'm just not their customer. I need to make profit. Honestly I'm just itching to get going but my carboots don't start for at least a month.

OK Changed my mind 06:48 Nest of 3 Chinese carved tables with glass & main table will be a pay day for someone. 08:19 Herbert Terry anglepoise 1227 on table £80-£100 retail so right to pass, 09:43 fabric rolls on table, 10:22 if Matmos lamp bite the guys are off if not leave it. 10:47 I have two jam pans on my kitchen wall, they can still be bought in mixed lots at auction for £10, LOVE that lamp 11:16

I don't look at furniture enough as it's a pain! But the nest of tables no doubt someone snapped up. The fabric rolls didn't catch my eye, never really looked into it but makes sense people need fabric! The lamp wasn't Matmos, we actually have the exact same one and it's worth around £40-60 so no good for me at £20. The pans were full retail! I'll be surprised if she sold them that day. That last lamp though, looking back was quite interesting... I don't give enough time to pottery lamp bases... I often pass ceramics due to fragility and my lack of knowledge... But I do love a lamp!

i was chatting with some other stool holders yesterday, they were saying anyone with a head cam or body cam gets 100% price hike as cameras just arnt welcome at boot fairs

If noticed, I can imagine the camera may increase the price with some sellers but we've never really seen it. Ours very rarely gets noticed, we don't wear a chest mount or head strap. It's always palmed in my hand. The prices in this video are just standard for this location. It's dealers selling to dealers.

We didn't actually complain any of the prices were too high, was merely an observation! This particular midweek car boot is mainly full of resellers and dealers buying. Thankfully we were able to purchase a few bits!

Some stuff is priced fairly, but you have to judge your audience. You'll struggle to sell items at antique shop prices when you're not in an antique shop. The people selling the most is the house clearance firms pricing it to sell and going home with an empty van!
