An incredible amount of heavy freight train activity around the Limestone workings of the Peak District. It's so busy with freight and all captured on a freight train photography day following the Limestone trains around Buxton. A start at Peak Forest Signal Box, before moving on to Great Rocks Junction, Tunstead Quarry, Harper Hill and after climbing to some great vantage points getting some fantastic Photographic scenic views around Topley Pike. The amount of rail freight is incredible coming out of these Limestone quarries around Buxton a freight railfan dream.
My passion is railway photography and I think you would be hard-pressed to find a better location in the UK for freight train photography, this location has it all, plenty of freight trains, industrial and scenic settings and plenty of fantastic rail photography locations.
