Days 4 & 5 of my Ullswater Way hike. Day 4 however was my 'rest day' as I stayed at the Quiet Site for two nights.
On my rest day (day 4), I explore the Quiet Site and relaxed before catching some live music at the on site bar/lounge with pizza & wine by an open fire.
The following day, I continued on the trail, walking leisurely as I had only 5.5 miles to get back into Pooley Bridge and the weather was amazing! A perfect, sunny day walking through the Lakes.
I reached Pooley Bridge with plenty of hours to kill before my train, so I decided to catch a return on the Ullswater Steamer! I'd recommend this to anyone who has the time to, at the end of your own Ullswater Way journey, as seeing the trail I hiked days prior from the water was something truly special.
From PB, the steamer went to Glenridding and back. I was totally in my element, watching the bright sunlight bounce off the gentle waves of Ullswater.
Also, in this video I answer the questions submitted in my Q&A before filming/hiking this, but don't worry if you missed it that time, I'm posting a new Q&A post on my channel, just look under the 'community' tab on my page to find it!
Watch until the end to get some deeper insight on the trail, the Lakes & how my own emotionality affects me.
And next week I'll be uploading the full movie length, longform video of the entire Ullswater Way, coming in at just over 3 hours long!

Thank you to everyone watching, I appreciate each and every one of you!

Also, my brother and I hiked Hadrian’s Wall to raise money for Mind, we got 55 miles in before we were forced to cut it short due to food poisoning from an Inn we stayed in! We're better now, and will continue the walk soon, so if you’d like to donate and support us I’ll add the link below! It’d mean so much, and for a good cause!

Thank you for another great video. I loved your Q&A. I will look forward to seeing your next adventure. I have my share of adventures taking part in Ultra Trail races in the UK, Greece & USA. I am planning hikes to more long hikes next year.

I originally came here for the hiking and the nature, but I stayed for how vulnerable and loving and you are with yourself and how strong and resilient you are at the same time, that is truly inspiring and beautiful... Thank you for sharing Your adventure's with Us.

I’m doing good, hope you’re well yourself ☺️ I’m glad you enjoyed it, to give you an idea of what’s next, I’ll just be uploading a longform video of all the Ullswater Way days together, the video after that is a trip to Coniston, then a Wales camping trip, and then my Coast to Coast videos!

Wow that was a tour de force Jennifer. The boat trip at the end was magical. I've not heard of Two Farmer Crisps, but being a savory person, I shall look out for them. I love mushrooms & garlic too. I wonder if the really friendly sheep were bottle reared ? Being a non creative, engineer type, I simply hadn't understood why I like your style until you highlighted it - it's you tramping along through the scenery and talking off camera. I do like sparse vocals - almost ASMR - but since you're a natural communicator, you can ramble on as much as you like afaic and it adds to the experience, you're just being you. I think you've developed a great style. Sorry I completely missed your AMA post 💩 YT doesn't often notify me of community posts, on any channel, so I miss a lot.

Oh wow thank you! Those crisps were lovely, I hadn’t seen them before either. You’re too kind, I’m so glad you enjoy the videos ☺️

Oh and don’t worry if you missed the last Q&A, that one I answered was from back in February, I’ve just made a post for a new one 😁 (you can find it under the Community tab on my channel)

I gotta say I love that you show the trail and surroundings while you talk instead of the camera pointed at your face in typical VLOG fashion (hope you don't take that wrong lol your face is great) I just feel like when I go to some peoples videos for a certain trail I end up staring at their face, good ambient music choices too. I'm going to Scotland from USA this time next year for the WHW, any favorite camp spots or must-do's? 😁

Thank you so much! Yeah I know what you mean, and no hate to other hiking RU-vidrs for doing so, but I prefer to see the trail myself 😁 And wow I bet you're so excited! The WHW, and Scotland as a whole, is absolutely magical. For camping, I don't recommend wild camping on the shores of Loch Lomond as it's one of the few places in Scotland that are prohibited to camp, unless you're there in the winter. I did this because I had no other choice and I'd done a long day & was ready to collapse, so I was super stealthy with it, though if you're caught I believe you can be fined. Other than that, you can camp anywhere, and you'll find yourself seeing so many amazing wild camping spots along the way. I recommend stopping at Rowchoish Bothy too, if you don't mind sleeping in a very basic shelter with strangers! Oh, and if you come by Doune Byre Bothy and see a couple there named Greg and Mary, tell them Jennifer says hi! They're absolutely lovely and have bought the bothy & its land, and they're doing it up so they might well be there working away :D Also, for a camp spot, by a river next to the Kingshouse Hotel in Glencoe is a very popular wild camping spot! You can set up your tent there & head into the hotel for a pint if it isn't too buys, and the deer there are so tame & will approach you if they think you have food!

@@Orenjen I forgot to say thanks for all of that info! Man that sounds awesome I would plan to tent most nights but I’ve done the AT over here in USA so I’m definitely used to the shelters full of dirty strangers lol.
