What’s on this truck: Suspension: www.cjcoffroad.com/Carli-Suspension-3-Pintop-2-5-3500-Air-Ride-p/cs-dpt25-1319-d-alas.htm Wheels: Factory Ram Alcoa with 2” Spacers Tires: 37/12.5/17 Toyo RT More about this system: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0Z-mQ41gOPg.html
So I’ve got a question for the pros since I’m looking to do nearly this exact build on the exact same truck. I’ve read varying opinions on putting such a wide tire on the factory rim. Can you clarify the pros and cons. Would the extra width put me in a bad spot if I end up close to my payload capacity as far as blowouts, uneven tire wear, etc?
You guys do so many nice builds... every time I pick a favorite, a new one comes along!!! Also, is it weird that I want this one and I don't even have anything to tow? 😂🤣
If installing this kit on a 3500 High Output, can the truck still retain its 34K LB towing capacity? Or there might be a loss? If so,how much approx. thanks in advance.
I could watch the same exact video 10 times. Super stoked theres a big player in the off-road retail and installation industry, that pushes truly innovative products.
I'll give you $20 PLUS my peanut butter and jelly sandwich (with crunchy peanut butter) for that beeeauty of a truck. Those RAM 3500s are sooo BADASS! Nice build, CJC Off Road.
What about the rim width and the tire rim width recommendations not lining up? Ie the rim width recommendation from Toyo is 8.5 and stock Alcoa rims are only 7.5. This has to decrease payload or reduce some type of rating. Any issues with doing this? Seems like it would be unsafe
Usually I’m a Ford and Toyota truck type of guy, but when it comes to big Heavy Duty Diesel trucks, I would actually go Ram cuz I really love this ultimate big blacked out Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Cummins!! It’s soo cool looking and the interior is also so gorgeous as well especially for a big Heavy Duty truck!!
CJC installed this system on my 2019 3500 SRW in October, 2020. I have driven about 10,000 miles with it installed, and I love it! I can drive my truck as a daily driver without getting beat to death, and the ride is even better when towing my 15,000 lb 5th wheel. This will make your passengers very happy as well.
Wait, you used Carli progressive rear springs and still managed to retain the factory payload? Please confirm this! My Ram 3500 is a ranch truck through and through. If I can improve the ride quality, with a 3” lift and still maintain all factory payload and hauling capabilities…I’m Sold!!
If you’re going to put those exact tire size with the stock wheels. Does it need to be lifted?? For turning? I have a larmine 3500 dually 2021 and this is something I am looking for. But, not to high on the lift just enough clearance for the turning if needed on the tire size. Please help. I do tow 10,000-15,000lbs. And this something I want.
Absolutely! If your truck isn't factory air equipped we have several dedicated shock tunes and high capacity rear leaf pack options specifically designed for that usage. Here's a good example build video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wPor-tpt9Lg.html
Too much tire for those rims but looks great. Black out are so bad ass. I have a blacked out 2020 Ram 1500 quad cab, next will be a 2500 or 3500 single rear wheel...blacked out of course.
How far outside the fender well do the tires sit? I'm thinking about doing a setup like this when I get my dually truck. Also, what brand of wheel spacers did y'all use?
You guys did an amazing job. You guys convinced me to stick with the factory 17’s and not upgrade to 20’s. Can’t believe how good it looks. Now ride quality with the Ram 3500 Dually is already pretty good. Not sure what you mean they don’t ride good. Keep in mind this is a tow vehicle, not supposed to ride like a wagoneer..
I have the same truck just not the dully, is the set up you installed the same for 4wheel? Iam looking to get started on this. Can you give me info please
I have a Ram 2500 Cummins with aftermarket air ride setup that installed due to the ride quality. Now the truck rides great and stays level when hooked to my RV or gooseneck.
Do you have anything for a 2021 Ram 5500 with 19.5 Alcoa’s. Not looking for a HUGE lift. I use this for Hotshot and want to do larger tires as well. FYI, that truck is Not air Ride, it’s Air Assist. Totally diffferent
Unfortunately those trucks have a pretty different suspension system under them, so there’s nothing like this available for them. And you’re 100% right on the name. Cole mis-spoke a few times in the video.
Does it need the 2" spacers? I want to go with pretty much the same setup. I want to lift just enough for 37s but I don't want any poke in the rear. Do you believe that 1" spacers will work?
You MUST use 2-2.5" spacers depending on the width of the tires. This isn't for looks, and simply prevents the rear tires from touching when they're both 12.5" wide.
Random question, have you guys considered using the the front fenders off of a ram 4500/5500 on one of your ram 3500 dually builds? I haven’t seen anyone do it yet. But I feel like it would help give the truck that really wide aggressive look, And be functional. Kinda like the f450 with a bed
Nice!! Wish I had that suspension set up. I have a 2020 3500 Dually Mega Cab Olive Green Pearl Hemi. After I saw your 2500 Olive Green Pearl I had to get the color when I put in my order.
Now I guess this is how it starts with Truck owners. You upgrade with one small thing? And than your hooked. I started with just adding led fog lights on my 2020 3500 Tradesman dually 8 ft bed. Now I'll be looking forward to improve my suspension with a leveling system and better shocks. Well, here we go. You guys are TOP SHELF! 🇺🇸💪🙏
We’d recommend a standard 3500 actually. You have no need for the factory air with a trailer that light, and can get much better ride and off road performance without it!
Hi on this same lift same and same truck we are installing , there is an air tank relocation bracket, what is the reason for relocating the air tank Thank You
Ram actually made some changes so you can get away without relocating it! The only time you need to relocate it is when you have AMP steps, and in that case we use the AMP bracket.
Do you want to drive & enjoy your truck or do you want a truck that you never get to enjoy because you keep calling the dealership to see if your truck’s fixed yet? That’s the difference. The new fix or repair daily trucks have a recall campaign on the super duty’s. Frames cracking under the cab. Quality is Not job one. Such great looking trucks but they will leave you stranded. Sad.
I'm in Fort worth TX who do I contact for the same exact parts used in this video. I have same exact truck. I need to point out my 2021 does not have factory air assist but would like to add it.
Reach out to Woodlands Performance. You can't add factory air, but Carli makes an awesome long travel airbag setup to go with their rear springs on the non factory air trucks! www.woodlandsperformance.com/
