Did you see her staining that ladder with nothing protecting her hard wood floors? Stain all over the floors but somehow it came off? Definitely fearless
It's been many years ago but I can honestly say, "Been there, done that" but got another boyfriend, got married, had kids & grandchildren! Not one ear ache since then. Glad you picked up on that Sofia! Funny.
Caroline Love yeah I was wondering why she will posts and spends so much time on apartment makeover when she’s moving soon 😂 Well I guess when she started it she hasn’t make up her mind of moving and when she did decided to move she’s already half way in the process so she just continues 🤷♀️
Same thing happened to me. I got to enjoy mine for a couple months after an entire year of converting my basement into a 1-br. I changed it from a minimalist theme to boho vibes. I hope this gives you inspirations right now at home: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjI_uHVeUO4.html
okay but who else feels so proud that something Ashley’s been working on for a year has gained 1M views in a day??... shes spoken about non fashion vids getting less views and I’m proud she’s getting more hype!
learning greek it’s a really outdated term it means “east” or “eastern” but it’s kinda offensive like you can say like “oriental market” or “oriental rug” ya know like if ur referring to an object then it’s fine but it’s bad to call Asian people that. But yeah it was meant to describe Asian people, but it’s really generalizing cuz “eastern” could be Asians, those of Hindi descent, middle easterners, etc. and yeah it’s pretty obvious those are not all synonymous cultures.
bob the builder ashley, aesthetic ashley, environmentalist ashley, existential ashley and plant-mother ashley in one 41 minute video? *i'm not complaining*
PSA: everyone, please appreciate how long this video is (41 minutes!), the pristine editing, how long it took to film, and how long it took to edit this! You can tell Ashley worked so hard on this video (as usual with every video). Please take in every second of it and appreciate it. We love you Ashley! thanks for making A1 content for us. And Merry Early Christmas!
Ugh. I’m excited to see how she documents the next NYC apartment. Quality, as always. We really appreciate you and your dedication to this platform. You are literally my favorite person on the internet lol Can’t wait to see what you conquer next in the big apple 🍎 much love from TN
I'm actually not the biggest fan of heavily patterned wallpaper but the one in your bedroom works so well and in combination with the light really sets a mood
Who else comes back to all of her videos when they want to feel inspired. I have probably watched this video a hundred times and it's still brings me so much comfort.
This was so refreshing and almost as if you're walking us down memory lane of everything that happened these past 11 months and closing that chapter to start a new one in NY. As always you're a great storyteller and I can't wait to tune into the many more stories to come
this might sound weird but i absolutely love how she just mentions sex so casually, like its not even a big deal/taboo thing at all, and shes not afraid to mention it. Shes the only youtuber that ive seen who does that, its genuinely refreshing
Julia Råbe i was looking for this comment ! this is my first time watching her and oh my god it’s refreshing i’m so tired of ultra sanitized truman show youtube
Honestly for a plant it might tho since people are stuck at home and might care for their plants better (of course Ashley was already a thriving plant parent pre corona)
I did my apartment makeover on the cheap as well. I bought the coolest ombre lamp for $3 at IKEA and have a couch that plays music. Here, I turned my basement into a boho 1-br apartment: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjI_uHVeUO4.html
my parents just decided to move to russia and leave me(their 16 year old daughter) alone in my home country germany. i cried out my eyes the last days and started to fall back in a depression episode. the thought of living alone in an one and a half bedroom apartment with knowing my family kinda get rid of me make made me sobber like sh!t. now it‘s 1am, and i‘m watching this video which actually motivates me to keep going and also decorate my own apartment so i could actually handle it mentally to live alone. dayom i overshared, but nice video💕
omg i hope you’re doing well now and if you aren’t, it’s okay to have sad girl hours every once in a while as they say in bojack horseman, it gets easier everyday. but that’s the thing-you have to do it everyday sending my best wishes for you uwu☺️
I have no idea if this is actually a thing but I feel like if I was trying to edit this video after a break up it would have been a little challenging so if it was at all challenging for you to go through memories like this I want to congratulate you because this video is amazing and perfect!!
this is so underrated and i was thinking the exact same thing. this must've been so hard for her to do and she deserves all the appreciation in the world for doing it and coming out the other side with an awesome video
Ashley: made over an apartment for less than 1 year to live in Me, at 15: I'm not going to buy a lamp for this light bulb, I'm moving out in 3 years anyway
It's so worth it to do it tho bc in the meanwhile that you wake up every day in that place you should be happy with your surroundings, even if you'll move soon!! DO THE THING, u will not regret it!!!
yes, i realized that halfway into the video.... i'm like.... crap it's going to take a lot longer for her to REMOVE the wallpaper and counter cover than the initial application
Before I watch this and since it's gonna be 2020 soon, I just wanna say how damn proud I am of Ashley. I only started watching her at the beginning of this year but her channel has gotten more and more successful as time has gone on, she's stayed so relatable, humble and strong headed, she's the perfect role model for many young girls, she's done so much for herself, she fast tracked her degree and graduated in 2 1/2 years and still ran her channel and then launched a super successful jewellery collection as well as being an editor for other channels and selling her own clothes. Ashley is a super human. Her videos are a level above any others, they're always crafted to the highest of standards and you can tell the effort she puts in, I mean she handwrites her title slides!!! Her editing style, fashion taste and realistic personally has inspired many and will continue to do so. Can we all just take a moment to appreciate this girl, she deserves an award, or a big bowl of cereal at least. What a legend.
Is anyone going to talk about the weirdo who would knock on her door at 3AM? 😰 After you said that I’m actually glad you’re getting out of there. Stay safe and don’t be afraid to defend yourself! Stay strong!
Ella good point but it will be a lot less likely to live on the ground floor in NYC as opposed to LA where it’s mostly one or two story apartment complexes with no hallways and the front doors facing the public street
i really hope ashley is doing better now. i always come to her channel for comfort and it’s like a little nostalgia trip back to 2019-2020, when i think i was at my peak mentally. but it’s also a reminder of how much things change and how all of us as people grow. i’m always going to love ashley’s content, but i’m glad she’s doing what she needs to make things better for herself :))
The fact that you did EVERY SINGLE THING yourself, even while having a boyfriend. stuff like drilling things, undrilling things, polishing, i mean, A LOT OF THINGs! I'm so proud of you and it feels so empowering to watch you like this! 💜
@@jasmine-je4gv It's really not tho? Most people ask their spouce to help them when they're renovating their home. Fours hands are always better than two
It was kinda my year i mean obviously it was so upsetting that so many people died and everything stopped. But i really needed a break and i literally cried day and night for this one chance to actually be back home and get my mental health under control. I’ve been making some progress now and i think i’ll be fine by the time i have to get back to my shit. So yea it was kinda an opportunity to take a break and reflect on life.
This video was so satisfying and entertaining that I could honestly watch it twice in a row. I just finished it and I’m tempted to watch it again. Lol! Incredible content Ashley, as always. Can not wait to see an NY version!
I couldn't have said this comment any better, I cant think of a more perfect place for someone as talented and artsy as her. It's going to be so cool :) :)
@@vishakap6436 not as in I'm hoping she would have been. She had mentioned how afraid she was for her bike it just seemed strange she'd leave herself so exposed!
Yeah, it'll be better if she has a curtain so other people can't just look at her living space anytime they want. Atleast a thin white curtain is needed but a thicker one is definitely ideal for safety reasons.
Ugh I am a slut for apartment makeovers/makeovers in general. Everything is so aesthetically pleasing and gorgeous. I literally DREAM about moving out and decorating my own living space all the time. This video was *chefs kiss* magnifiqué :)
Because of this video I ended up shoving bookcases up against my bed so it creates the same sort of 'walled in' effect. It's not the same but it still feels very comforting
Ashley: ew I’m the worst designer I’m just gonna frick this whole thing up Also Ashley: has the most aesthetically pleasing apartment ever that she designed herself
Continuously rewatching this video and her NYC studio video until I can manifest apartments to call me back so I can finally move and have an adorable little apartment like her :') Update nobody wanted: I got an apartment and a kitten so we are living the best life and we will make it cute
So I’m just now realizing that I’m emotionally attached to this apartment??? Just seeing you grow and change as a person since i started watching your videos about a year and a half ago has been amazing and I so beyond proud of you :)
I think I have watched this at least 10 times, maybe more lol. It's one of my comfort videos. Even though Ashley doesn't make videos anymore, I just want to say that her videos have brought me so much joy over the past 5 years since I started watching her
Ashley: *scared of spider* also Ashley: "i usually got my parents to do it and now i have David to do it, or whoever i'm fucking at the moment to do it" i was shook, but i loved that
Once when I tripped, I had to wrap a tissue around my knee and secure it with a scrunchie. Another time I had to use a panty liner when my friend cut her finger
Honestly there is something so incredibly refreshing and empowering about watching other women just DO things like making/flipping clothes, building furniture, painting, like even just adding wallpaper (or how satisfying it was to watch rip that closet shelf off the wall). It is sad that 11 months of work is ending because you're moving, but it's also great to know that you're going to get to NYC and completely makeover your apartment there.
Maris P i know, but towards the end (during the later months) she knew she was gonna move soon but still finished the apartment just to have to take it all down again 😭
I swear, this is extremely inspiring. You imagined how you wanted your apartment to be, made it happen, and then shared it with RU-vid and your friends. This is what women and girls do and this is what we need to see! We need to see we can live on our own too. You're talented, smart, and enterprising, and I can't believe I watched the entire 40 minutes of this. Thank you for your effort and for sharing this.
WHAT?? This was over 40 minutes??? I didn't know that. I watched this whole video thinking it was 20!!! 😂🤣 Damn, good job making it so entertaining that I didn't notice the time fly by!!! 👍👏👏👏
@@Yviee5413 she spent a year working on it like once every few months that's around 2 years with a new bedroom or 1 1/2 with more storage and 2 years with nice furniture. Plus I said if u count the time she spent working on it
This was so trippy to watch. We saw literally almost a whole year of your life in fourty minutes and it was like watching you grow through those months. I'm happy you've grown as a person and found what might make you the happiest. Thank you so MUCH for your hard work and dedication, I'm so happy for your success. May 2020 be a new chapter for you hon :)
Orin Bengali or maybe fortunately! they could have been unhappy in their relationship/better on their own, so if they both feel like they'd be healthier without each other i think that's all we should ask for
