Probably the coolest, yet most humble, dude out there. He just breathes life into any type of guitar you throw at him in his own unique style. Best YT channel by far.
Justin, you just took me back to Manning Homes projects in Sheffield, Alabama in the mid 60's!! I would go sit on the porch of my friends house and listen to her Grandpa pick and slide some delta blues on an old flat top Gibson! That was where I learned to love the blues! THANK YOU for bringing back those memories here! That is a gorgeous guitar and you did it righteous!!
A great sound Justin. Even though it appears to be a smaller guitar, it has a big sound. In your hands everything sounds good. You keep playing and I'll keep watching and listening 🎧.
I recently sold my Martin M-38, because, when I would play it the middle of the neck would fatigued my left hand and played it rarely. I took the money and purchased a Martin 000-17 in Whiskey Sunset. This guitar plays easily and down the neck and projects acutely clear sounds. Definitely Martin pedigree and worth the money.
Just bought one in black smoke left handed as my first guitar. This video definitely made my mind up on which guitar to get. Hopefully one day I will be able to play 1/100th as well as you!
I bought one of these 3 years ago having tried loads of other Martins, Taylors , Gibsons and high end Yamahas etc. I couldn't find one that I really connected with until I came across a 00017 in a shop in Leeds England. I had never spent anything like what it cost on a guitar before but this one I thought was worth the outlay. i will never sell it, it is absolutely outstanding. I play fairly gentle fingerstyle(think poor mans James Taylor) I string it with 11 50 Martin Silk and Phosphor. It is feather light and as Justin said in the video it is super responsive. Loved the video, great playing and presentation.Thanks.
Martin should make a Justin Johnson model if they haven't already. This man is obviously well versed in guitars and he sure can play the hell out of them!!!🎸🎸🎸
After watching clips of you on youtube for years I love that you've taken this direction with your channel and just geek out on guitars every so often. Keep up the good work, your content is great
Feeling your love to this instruments and the music you play, makes it so wonderfull watching your videos. Instead I have no idear playing a guitar, I learn so much about it.Thank you for the Blues.
Authentic is the best description ! Still love the sound of the " Cash " Martin ! And appreciate the explanation of what, and how it all works. Always to the end.
Watching this man's fingers is like watching a hypnotist's watch. Add the invitational, hypnotic tones the sounds of the strings command, and I'M IN A TRANCE! (and somehow, I NEVER WANT TO WAKE UP).
So glad you love that guitar , so do I , just love that already played - in sound . I don`t know how , but Martin certainly made a beauty in that model , plus because you are playing it , no wonder it sounds like perfection personified , cheers from NZ .
Keep on rocking Mr JJ. As a non music oriented person seeing someone display this much raw skill makes me appreciate the difference in potential between each human being
I played one of these last year in the shop and it has been haunting me ever since. Awesome guitar. Great sound, great feel. I knew very quickly that I had better put it down and walk away or it would be coming home with me and I would be sleeping on the couch
I bought a 00-17, 12 fret, in “black smoke” finish about 2 yrs ago when they were released. The tonal quality of the 12 fret is superior to the 14 but not as player friendly. It’s a CRAZY good guitar! In my top 5 in a collection of 45 excellent guitars! I play it every few days and it rarely sees its case! I have 6 Martins and this is second only to my 000-28h standard, sun burst. And......they are VERY affordable! One of only 5 in my collection that I bought new! Cheers, Justin. Great demo of a great guitar. Peace
I love every video of yours where you are so excited to show us your new collection of guitars. We're excited to have new videos of yours playing with these new guitars! Love it justin. Always here to support!
I want one! I've got a Martin Dreadnought that sounds pretty good but a little too soft for fingerstyle. When Justin starts in with these old style blues it really gets me groovin', but when he breaks out the slide it just transports me back in time. Lovin' it.👍👍
Get one dude! These are GEMS ! They’re just like the Collings Waterloo series but a bit cheaper - in fact very affordable for a Martin with a dovetail. I own one and it’s one of the best guitars I’ve had, out of hundreds - no joke - I’m 62 and spent a life in music. Peace
@@cherrypickerguitars thanks for the input, I'll be 62 in May, been hacking away since I was 15 and I'm still learning 😁. I just have to get the wife to sign off on it, she doesn't understand why I would possibly 'need' another guitar. Keep on pickin' brother.
@@roadhawg59 Cool - another 50’s model ! You won’t regret buying that guitar. It’ll make you a better player, too (also, I’ve told sooo many “guitar lies” to my wife!) Peacd
chimney smoke, our last days outdoors like this before the first heavy snowfall. I got a bowl of beanless Texas chili waiting on me but it'll have to wait a bit. Gunny, my chocolate lab, snaps a twig under his paw giving me the signal he's ready for the soulful twang and resonance of my brand spankin new Martin.
Hey Justin, EZMUDDER's brother here... Thank you so much for sharing this amazing Martin guitar!! I haven't been able to put it down. I absolutely love it and it's sound! Thank you again and keep on jamming!!
Thanks man,I love the 00 Martin guitars, classic hard design, really picked one up for 400 years ago, must be 1000 now.look forward to your future releases on that......
That's a beautiful guitar. And you can sure make it sing so well. I really appreciate the breakdown on the tuning. If I pick up some of these great tips, I can play like you someday
I've been thinking about getting this guitar the last few days and now watching my favorite guitarist on RU-vid playing this Martin I'm definitely sold on it now;)
Your album Rough Edges finally came Justin, first physical piece of music I bought in 5 years. Quicksilver is like a Swampy blues Satriani, really funky grooves. Great work!
