There is no doubt it is possible, in the infinite monkey with infinite typewriters type of way - as basically everything in BG3 depends on the random number from the die rolls. So try it long enough you will get that lucky eventually. And with the skill and knowledge of the game shown the odds are shifted very much more in favour of success, still an insane challenge, that may best her. But given the other challenges she has already completed I'd say she has the sticking power and skill to manage in the end.

The fact you have to ask if they are the same tells you Larian really nailed the TTRPG D&D experience, where crazy can loop back on itself to genius level cunning... And I'd have to agree on both being true here. That challenge mode seems like it would be really quite fun to play, at least for a run or two, but is most certainly the product of a warped mind... Only thing that puts me off this challenge is how narrow the range of plausible seeming build options are under those constraints (without also modding the game to add in more 5E options at least). Almost all the Subclass in the game are just going to be tapped out of resources and become useless long before the forced long rest. So you can't fail and decide to mix it up that much on the next run, its going to be done almost the same, just with more care taken to prevent being hit by that hold person...

@@Luality I've had it happen many times, I now have a list of NPC's that have it and I always target them first or avoid them till act 2 depending on my solo run build.

I am now towards the final part of my 2nd playthrough as a stealth ranger assassin and was wondering why I rarely get my surprise round. So that is f--ing why!!!

@@danniton9831 it can prevent the surprise round sometimes, but you can also fire off a shit ton of shots before combat actually starts because of it. Or you can enter turn based mode and reposition and hide before they find you and rinse and repeat

Worst of all...probably the strongest class available for the early portion of a solo run? Gloomstalker's get a 2nd attack on round 1 that's even stronger than baseline at lvl 3 in addition to bonus initiative, and hide as a bonus action. Throw barbarian gets pretty strong at 4 but even then you can't really go toe to toe with almost any fights when you're solo. Even if you can reliably 1 shot 2 things (which notably you can't do on round 1 because your bonus action is used for rage, which means no enraged throw or even a cheeky speed pot because drinking that's a bonus action)if their are still 13 things hitting you, you're dead. The ability to be sneaky, go first in combat and get an additional attack on the opening round is incredibly valuable. Ya an open hand monk/thief rinse like 15 people with actions left over at lvl 12 but for lvl 1-5 or so I don't think anyone tops gloomstalker ranger for a solo run.

There are ways to regain them, potions, illithid thingys, Raph's bath, also chapter transitions give you long rest too

That's why she is playing a stealth archer, that is one of the only builds that is not dependent on any resources requiring rests (sup die, spell slots, oath/divinity charges, etc)
