guys im SO WRONG about what Big Swiss is about 😭😭😂 my description was based off what the blurb told be but i’ve done a bit more research and it’s ACTUALLY about a therapist’s transcriber who false in love with a patient through recordings and THEN they meet irl 🤦🏻♀️ hehehe still sounds amazing so i can’t wait to read it!
just remember: quality over quantity is important when it comes to reading! feeling happy and fulfilled is worth more than having read 300 books at the end of the year 🧡 it’s not a competition, even if social media makes it so easy to let us believe that!

I believe Gillian Flynn pronounces her first name gill like the fish 🐟 i adore all her books! Also thats so crazy that you had a person want to photograph you, and then one person ask you to do artwork for their album. Literal main character 💅
A little update: Marieke Lucas Rijneveld now goes by Lucas Rijneveld (his new book in Feb with Faber will have that name on the cover too). And brace yourself, because the Discomfort of Evening is verrrry intense. 😅(And I'll never forget I Who Have Never Known Men for the rest of my life for sure!)
I really needed to hear that advice about not needing to find a purpose with learning something or having a passion for something cause that's what I've been struggling with when it comes to astronomy. I love studying it, but I always felt like I had no purpose for studying it. I'm not going to school to study it and I don't have any plans on working at NASA where I would need this knowledge, but I know now that I can just study astronomy just for fun and that's okay! 😊💫

The Discomfort of Evening was very captivating but gross at the same time haha I couldn't stop thinking about it for a long time, still do honestly, because it was the first book ever that made me feel such discomfort and a need to know more at the same time 😅

I really like your bookish content1! And - this may sound creepy, sorry - your voice is nnice to listen to :) Hardbacks are usually pretty and they look more expensive but I don't like to read them, I prefer paperbacks (and they are cheaper). I think I've been in a reading slump for the whole year of 2024 so far. I graduatede and started a new job in the end of 2023 and I've just been so tired and quit stressed. I think it has affected to my reading. But I woul really like to get back into it, since it's one of the best things I know and I still love reading!
