This week sees Matt Watson targeting a couple of NZ's most under-utilised fish species; skipjack tuna and albacore tuna. Whilst attempting to demonstrate the versatility of these under-appreciated fish, the team are pestered by packs of pesky marlin, and come across some gigantic schools of balling baitfish which have to be seen to be believed.

A 20lb snapper is the holy grail - I've been surfcasting for 45 years and never got one. Yet some people have caught many of them. Thats life I guess :) Love the videos!

Only just found this channel, love the banter and the underwater footage is awesome. I fished the 'Snapper Classic' on Ninety Mile Beach in 2005, seeing this makes me want to go back.

i love fish most of all i love tuna . it hurt my heart seeing tuna wasted like that . why not fillet the tuna save the good bit and then mulch the rest what an extreme waste of good fish

Soo many efforts just to catch 20lbs snapper, i cought few 20lbs snapper on surfcasting in auckland docks fishing, very easy park you car and cast right next to it.. But this video really fun to watch... awesome! !

Depth isn't the main factor, its water quality, sea surface temperature and the amount of feed. In Jan/Feb they can be in 30m of water, but keep an eye out for birds, they will tell you where the activity is.

Yeah look i don't know about that snapper? 23lb but with 12lb of albacore in it's guts it's really only an 11lb go fish somethin bigger lol hey btw you guys invented a sheep mincer years ago for clearing those dead sheep from your gumboots oops paddocks that woulda work well for burley 😉 lol i pissed myself laughing from the time you got to the hire store till the end, damn good stuff👍
