Hey spookston I just realized something the is6 got a br change to 7.7 in realistic battle I tried it out it seems very much balanced, I was wonder can you play it and get 8 kills with it?

I was actually told by a war thunder moderator that it’s much less resistant to flares than regular IR tracking

@@catoonz as I said, according to GunJob (moderator on the forums) and from my experience, no, it does not look for flares, nor does it look for the sun. However, apparently, and I have experienced it from flaring them even in a heli, if you drop flares in certain manners, the missile will be confused, but not because it goes for the flares, but because the flares optically prevent the missile from seeing the aircraft. And considering the IRCCM of the IR mods of these missiles is very good, the optical system actually ends up a bit easier to « flare » than the IR mode

You even said that the only way to flare the optical guidance is by complete obscuration (i.e. the flares completely cover the aircraft). But you can flare the IR modes without complete obscuration, which objectively makes it easier. The IR mode of the Type 91 and Type 81 both use the same IRCCM methods of seeker shut off on top of FOV gating. So it's like a mix of an AIM-9M and an R-73. Very good IRCCM but it *can* be fooled, and *without* complete obscuration. When you get to the Strela... there's just no way that what you said is true. Especially at range. It *only* has FOV gating, with no seeker shutoff, like an R-73. The optical tracking will be more flare resistance 100% of the time, especially headon.

@@collander7766 actually, I specifically mentioned being in an heli, because I know for a fact that they won’t be able to lock me with the IR mode when I seat above 3km from them , as shown in this video where he was unable to lock that heli with optical mode due to the mountains, and still did not lock the heli at almost 2km front and side aspect. Also, I did not say that complete obturation was necessary. I said that under specific conditions, that I still don’t understand yet (I mostly flare, turn towards the ground sideways), I seem to be able to flare them (mainly Strelas in a tiger HAP), as I managed to survive a few times (more an exception than the rule though). As for the resistance to « flaring » (I don’t know if it should still be called that way) being lower than IR, this is what I was told when asking about Optical tracking on the forums, and then got the answer from a moderator that apparently knows more than me about the system implementation in game, who specifically told me that optical tracking was worse at dealing with flares than IR. I don’t have any hard evidence on this, but I tend to trust that mod as he is a very active and helpful mod in the forums in general

Nah gremlin mode is t34 57 Pen everything at 4.7 and a solid chance at most things 5.7

T-34 as Medium, YaG-10 as TD, ZiS-12 as SPAA, IL-2M as strike (or IL-2 (1942)), Yak-9B or La-5F for fighter Maybe you run more than 5 crew slots, in which case it probably is quite incomplete.
