This series is going to be very useful for beginners since the in game description of the guns don’t cover much about the stats. Maybe you should add details about wallbang potential and also the effects of a gun on a smoke. For example, shotguns, the M249 and the Negev all can really punch a big hole through the smoke which can be very crucial. Overall, I really like that you are trying to videos about other games as well. Keep it up!
When I started playing CS2, I was shocked to see how little CS2 content on RU-vid was actually about the game, and is instead just gambling. Thank you for actually talking about the game in a meaningful way!!
Great video! I've been playing cs since 2016 and have well over 4k hours but still found this very informative. I started watching you when battlebit came out and even if you stop making cs or battlebit content, I'll stick around. Excited for part 2!
i point out warowl because his videos are more aimed towards newer players and teaching them game mechanics while 3kliksphilip and slothsquadron focus more on the technical side of the game.
The R8 is quite reliable in CS2 compared to CSGO and I've had some very funky success with it. An example, if you lose the 1st round on dust2 and you know your aim is crispy and locked, buy the thing and see if you can nail the guy suicide more than likely pre-aimed with a scout. If you gamble what side he's on, you have a 30/70 chance of deleting him or he just plants one in your face. As a T however, they _may_ not opt to buy a scout if they won so you can attempt a crossmap headshot which, through the mid doors at that range, can still delete someone in a single slug. Alternatively, just run to top mid and get a few pre-aim shots while strafing, you might deal some damage if the CTs are peeking aggressively. The thing is a pocket scout but with absolutely no ammo to speak of, 8/8 really hurts. For me, I use it to pester through materials, it has GREAT penetration, doing nearly 50 damage to armored opponents through the doors and stuff which can help win a gunfight for your teammates with p250s or that one guy who buys a mac or nova. It is also guaranteed lethal on headshots. Its essentially all or nothing as backline support, *YOU DO NOT* want to try entry-fragging with it unless your enemy team is truly a bunch of puppies and you're just bullying them. For other maps, same as follows. Understand the common routes of player movements, timing of movement at spawn so get a really optimistic pre-fire damage or kill, know that it can shoot through a bunch of stuff so practice wallbang spots and try to work with your team with it, best case scenario you're backline support in a 4-5man stack to a P.O.I on the map. Examples is like Mirage mid, Mini on Nuke, Heaven on Nuke, Car on Banana on Inferno etc. and any thin piece of cover. However in almost all other circumstances, you're better off with the Deagle with no trigger delay, nearly comparable first-shot accuracy with the R8 and extra reserve magazines and the damage is nothing to sneeze at with guaranteed lethal headshots at most sightlines and good chunk damage on the body. Also, spam "weapon inspect" and "reload" alternatively to one another, you can be a budget Revolver Ocelot. If I made grammar mistakes or whatever, comment and I'll fix it, I am tired and a little loopy writing this.
I believe that the r8 could use some slight tweaking, however, I'd argue that it does what it is supposed to rather well. I've been joking with my friends by calling it a $600 scout because of the sheer amount of damage and range it has. If you are on an eco and you need to take long range engagements, being able to tag people for 70 damage at nearly any range is super helpful for your other teammates running around with weaker pistols. Seriously being able to contest a rifle without commiting to a precise headshot and just aiming for the body can be so impactful and usually easy to follow up with just one more shot to the body for the kill.
Also the R8 is good since its literally a scout for 1/3 of the price. All you have to do is use it to peek and hit people for 79 and let your SMGs finish them off
This is why I love tactical shooters, CS especially, the focus on real world weapons and equipment instead of supernatural class or abilities creates this fascinating dynamic and interplay to the fights. You can really feel the delicate balance and the care the devs put into maintaining it. Sure you can do this kind of analysis on any fps but this is the only game that manages to make it matter to the average player above basic preference and theming your playstyle. Recent CoD gunsmith systems are ridiculously complex out of an attempt to do the same thing but I find it fails to have the same impact when it all just feeds into the same old arcade shooter sensibilities. CS just had this class to it even if its roots are just as intertwined with casual gaming culture as they are with the competitive E sports scene. Good to see such a classic and enduring title return for 2023 and beyond.
Going from csgo to valorant to cs2 I am really rooting for them to fix all the issues so this game can become the greatest tactical fps for the next 10 years.
@FatRussianGamer damn straight, I do love valorant too, but that game feels much more like a product of the Esports scene. Its designed from the ground up to cater for high stakes play. CS and its plucky, communal roots will always have this anarchic spirit and potential for growth. I feel like making the map tools much more accessible is a good example of the casual community spirit still being alive despite most of the other maps and modes being missing in CS2. Im really excited to see where it all goes myself.
@@babafrog1877 valorant's gunplay is terrible, same with the movement. The only thing it has going for it is the abilities but half of them are just rehashed cs equipment like smokes, grenades, flashes etc.
Also another note to make on the R8, the charge up makes a very audible clicking sound which will usually compromise your position in close combat situations. This is usually terrible when trying to have the drop on someone, however, if you're holding a corner you can quite literally spam the click and bait (clickbait gun ong) a team to you, this play is actually nasty if you have an xm or swag7 or Negev it usually works lol
Great video, would love to see more on the other weapons, I would recommend talking a bit more on the running accuracy when you're talking about pistols/smgs as you did with the tec9.
I don't think I can agree with all of the strategy takes, but the breakdown of the gun stats/kill requirements is good and I'll be watching the series. Nitpick rant: Dualies are a fine choice against armored targets if you can swing in close range, since they're a super cheap save option that allow great consistent TTK while running (really you're fishing for a headshot on these) CZ is a decent choice if you can hit the spray, since it has an insane TTK for it's price, especially if you hit a headshot during your spray, but you don't even have to. The fact that it's a pistol option that will root your opponent during the spray makes it a good niche, and means it can be a decent anti-rifle up close, especially since the only other pistol that can do this is the dualies which don't have the privilege of targeting for bodyshots only r8 random spread on right click is a super intentional mechanic - it reduces consistency, and inconsistencies are what good players want to eliminate, which means it's only a good choice when you're close enough to know it'll land. It's kinda like saying they shouldn't let you fire a rifle while running because it's randomly inaccurate and won't land unless you're in their face or that you shouldn't be able to noscope with the awp because it's "random" to land it, like no, it's a last resort and sometimes up close a faster way to land the shot. Also note the R8 is better than you give credit, even though I wouldn't really use it. It's a great weapon for *intentional body shots*, since it lets your teammates easily finish anyone you've hit with such high armored body shot damage. (Or even great for finishing the kill with an HE!). I would say this gun is best treated as a scopeless cheap scout. "Five seven is better than deag" is a wild take
@@vespa7961 it's really good at corner camping then stealing the persons gun. It can also be decent on pistol round since most people don't expect you to buy it and they all have semi autos while you have a full auto that can quickly melt people if you land the shots.
@@vespa7961 i do think a small buff would make it significantly better though and more used. Such as having 12/18 for reserve instead of 12/12. However thats kinda the point its really only meant for 1-2 kills but I do think giving it more ammo would be a nice buff.
CZ is pretty controllable with follow recoil, I really enjoy using it to entry frag on maps where the entrance into sight has short sight lines like inferno
Love the video! Would like to see a chart of all the stats you said during the video at the end, so I can look at all the guns and compare them easier.
Thanks for this video! Spent tens of hours playing with the USP-S because everybody used it but after spending waaay too long googleing stats I finally switched to the P2000 because it suits my playstyle way more, this video would have saved me lots of research!
R8 is the best weapon in the game. Well, for some situations. Mostly when there's range between you and the enemies. It's effectively a mini AWP. In close combat, it's practically useless, unless you spam the alt fire and you get lucky. But 9/10 times, close enemies will overrun you with their 9mms. The thing about the slowed movement while primary firing is that it makes for better accuracy, it's a mini instant version of the Matrix/Max Payne bullet time. Gives you a fraction of a second to adjust your aim, while running, at nearly full accuracy. Perfect companion for SMG rounds, use the SMG to spam close range, use the R8 to pick off across half the map. It's also a great gun for clutches, when the map is littered with dinked and damaged enemies - even with armor, 1 shot while running and it's sorted. The main trick is to strafe a lot, move sideways instead of back and forth. Don't believe me? Watch my R8 video. :) In the video I have around 650 StatTrak kills on it, now I'm way over 3K already. Yes, that's right. Over 3.000 R8 kills, the recent majority of which in competitive matches.
As a long time cs player the real benefit to the p2k and m4a4 over their silenced counterparts is the reserve ammo. It is most handy if you prefer playing solo bombsites (think b site dust 2). As you can spam smokes early round without worrying about running out of ammo mid round. As well as the fact that if there is a 5 man rush 30 bullets as opposed to 20 in the mag make spraydowns night and day easier. So basically if you play any positions where you can spam walls/doors, boxes, smokes, chokepoints etc. seriously consider using these.
The CZ used to be so good I miss my Pocket AK. I'd say the only advantage it has is soft ecos and maybe lurking on the off chance you catch someone off guard and are able to grab their rifle.
As a Five-Seven abuser I must say that the CZ has its moments. You have no idea how many times I surprised enemies by handling the CZ like a boss. They just don't expect you to dink them twice so fast with this joke of a gun. Like when they hear it, they instantly think: "This clown has CZ, let me underestimate him" and then get bursted with two bullets to the head. Not completely useless, but the Five-seven is trully the master of cheeziness.
I agree with most of what you said. burst fire on the Glock can be useful in close range fights, puts down a lot of rounds quickly. The CZ has its purpose, ambush/flank pistol that you use to mag dump into 1 maybe 2 fully bought opponents nearly instantly and scavenge their weapons, nades etc. Or your team buys a few of these on CT, stacks a site and maybe if the Ts rush where you stack you pull out a round win by just buying a couple of pistols. I guess some AWPers use it as a side arm, could make sense, seems to slow. idk.
Ay serious tip for the R8. If you absolutely MUST fan the hammer, stop your momentum/ counter-strafe *that’s the right term, right?* AND crouch before doing so. From an R8 cultist, trust me.
P250 is my new go to pistol, because it is cheap, fairly effective, and available on both sides. I like the Five-Seven more, but it is almost twice as much money and nowhere near twice as good. What situations (if any) would it make sense to buy a pistol with another primary weapon? I wonder if some weapons make sense together (AWP + P250?)
Basically, you only need a pistol with the AWP. Maybe another weapon would be the M4A1-S, which only has 20 bullets, so it could be a good idea to have a P250 or a Five Seven in those situations where you simply don't have enough ammo and don't have time to reload. Other than that, there is no point in buying a pistol with any other weapon.
I love the in-depth approach in explaining how sidearms work in this game! You're the XclusiveAce of CS basically. I can't wait to see the analysis of remaining gun classes!
Definitely better then a tec 9 for eco and force buys. He also forgot to mention the running accuracy is pretty good so it can sometimes best a five seven on ct side aswell depending on how you use it. (Five seven is still a devil though)
Thanks for the informative video. I have 1 critique though: to me these black-screen-pauses feel very irritating. I’d prefer different transitions / cut effects. I saw way better videos in that regard.
Yes I agree it's irritating and then becomes annoying. Nothing to say against black screen transitions - after each chapter. But seemingly random while explaining one thing is quite odd. At first I thought my device was having a problem :/
The R8 is my favorite gun in this game. (I have never played CS:GO so I come straight from CS Source and was surprised to see a revolver. I picked it up and was surprised by how much I loved it. what would I do to improve it? I don't think it should slow you running at all while charging it and I think it should have the same accuracy as it already has. this would make it slightly better in the sense that you can run with it and attack without getting attacked yourself. next thing I would do to improve it is lower the crazy recall by only 28% making it just slightly better at hitting. this would make it still fun to use as the charge up is a part of the fun if you ask me.
The Tec-9 used in conjunction with a triple left click macro is actually a force to be reckoned with. It's a monster on pistol round and will really give you that first round advantage the majority of the time. Definitely try it with a macro, it's nuts.
As someone who got tired of CS dominance by 3 guns only, AK, M4 and AWP, these upcoming series of videos would be blast to consume to understand guns a bit better after... 7? years of not playing. And yes, I've been there, the day when Revolver was released. A feeling to one-shot a guy standing in apartments while on bridge myself on Inferno by just casual charging and shooting left click. What a day in history of this overall pretty boring game. But besides that, seriously, part 2, 3 or how much you want to make are highly anticipated now as I want to avert myself from AK and M4 so I need more information about other guns and how to use them better (especially Galil as I like it and have a StatTrak on it)
You can crouch spam the deagle pretty well, so if u miss your first headshot from jiggle peaking just hold an angle and get a quick 2 tap from the stomach
Great video, looking forward to the next one. Only suggestion I can think off is adding a summary table at the end with all the shots to kill, to give a nice overview. Cheers
i need this ,mostly all old guide is outdated since valve had changed so many things, refreshing up is great, thankyou for the content! waiting for rifles next!
Thanks for the video. I also like revolver like support weapon. One hit guy, then finish him with nade, or peek for one shot, then teammates can finish him with 1 ak bullet
I prefer the R8 over the Deagle for a number of reasons: I suck with the Deagle The delay gives me more time to adjust for enemy movement and make sure I'm on target The high per shot damage means that, even if I only get 1-2 shots off with 0 headshots, the liklihood is that person is lit asf and easy pickings for teammates with other pistols/weapons if we're on an eco, whereas with the Deagle the only way that results in a direct kill is if it's a headshot and hitting both shots would do the same damage as hitting only 1 R8 shot (roughly) The R8's standing accuracy feels more accurate than the Deag, could be placebo but idk It's a good psychological tool - it is widely regarded as a meme gun (like the Bizon) but has surprisingly good killing power (unlike the Bizon) so when people hear it/get killed by it, it affects them mentally It's low price, high damage and high accuracy basically makes it a scopeless Scout, which makes it REALLY good for Ecos It's absolutely asinine and it's fun, every time I kill someone with it I giggle like a maniac because it's stupid and should never work Finally, and most importantly: I suck with the Deagle My advice: Use it only for Ecos. The USP/P2K & body armour combination is FAR BETTER for pistol rounds on CT and LITERALLY ANY other pistol or body armour is better for the first round on T side. The $600 price tag and high damage makes it worth it, ESPECIALLY if you have teammates who are buying SMGs, it is an assist MACHINE if you can hit bodyshots but not headshots because you are a shitter with pistols (like me) and use it for long angles, like you would with the deagle - CT A site on Mirage, Mid on pretty much any map, any long sightline if you're confident you're not running face first into an AWP.
So I have 7000 hours in csgo and a few things I'd like to state and or add to the information presented. NERD ALERT 🤓 First: TAP WITH THE GLOCK AT RANGE, on t side pistol you have the benefit of being able to run and gun more effectively and tapping at enemies whie trying to close the distance can very well save your life and even the round. You want to apply pressure but spamming is very inaccurate. It may not seem too bad but compare that spread to the size of a players head. I promise you'll get more kills by taking your time with your shots, especially when you aren't close to them. 2nd: only use the p2000 if you're doing bad with the usp. It happens to everyone, change helps. Also spamming isn't recommended ever unless you're actually panicking. Take your time and keep distance between the Ts and yourself wherever possible. Also if you spam through smokes, use the usp. Ammo is nice but the bonus of minimal sound and no tracers can keep you alive and give you a chance to get a cheeky kill and get away. 3rd: Barrettas are meme, buying them on pistol is basically trolling unless you are just messing around. Often times dropped to a player with armor for maximum 'fuk u' effect to enemies. 4th: P250 was nerfed ages ago but still goated for $300. Use this on pistol if you buy nades if you dont want to use glock/usp. 5th: Tec-9 is debatably the best secondary in the game. Running accuracy is ridiculous. Never use the cz over this gun or you will be bullied (rightfully so). Overall most of the relevant points in this gun were made in this video. 6th: Five Seven is good BUT ON SOME MAPS CONSIDER THE CZ. T side forces you to be aggressive, CT lets you be a sneaky lil rat. Five Seven is a good gun if you're playing sites with longer ranged angles and better cover. CZ however forces you to play in aggressive and unexpected positions which can get you an easy 1-2 kills and a gun for yourself. I prefer to use the CZ because when I play ecos, i play for the win and not to damage their economy. That rifle can make that happen a lot easier than the pistols. You can do this with the five seven but the full auto aspect of the CZ makes that 1 free kill significantly more... free. 7th: CZ As stated above, use on CT for aggressive surprising plays on eco. Never NEVER use this on T. Element of surprise in close angles are your friend on eco rounds. Get dat rifle and save your team cuz you're pog. This investment is for the rifle, thats it. 8th: R8 is bad and meme, don't use it. Use the deagle. 9th: IF YOU CAN AIM and you're not saving for an awp, use this gun. If you can't aim, still use it because it will make you a better player. If you crouch and spam this gun it is stupidly accurate AND you will be insulted frequently, but thats OKAY. Anyways welcome to csg..2 The raw stats in this game are relevant but not the only thing to consider. Strategy is often times just as important than your weapons. Always use what's best for you but there are only a few guns in the game that are genuinely not worth using. CZ isnt one of them! >:(( Hope to see more cs videos in the future. ❤
CZ > Five seven and tec 9 for force buys without armour, thing absolutely destroys close range and is very underrated. The other two pistols are more consistent, but the cz is capable of round changing kills they are not.
CZ is actually good. You just have to play it like you’re playing with a shotgun. Its really only use is for eco rounds where you won’t buy armour. Your getting armour 100% go for 57 but cz no armour at close range is super effective and arguably better than most pistols in terms of TTK to the body
I think the r8 is slept on. Also you forgot to mention the primary fire also make an audible sound to enemy. I feel like deagle is complete RNG unless you're literally waiting a second between shots which is pretty much the same as the r8.
5:20 The USP-S in CS is .45 ACP. The reason .45 is used is it is subsonic; paired with a suppressor it's an extremely quiet weapon. You wouldn't really bother suppressing a 9mm USP-S.
I love the CZ for the sole purpose of stealing a gun. For that, it's absolutely amazing. Hide in a corner, wait for them to walk past, mow them down before they can react. No other pistol is quite as reliable for that as the CZ. For everything else, yeah it's pretty rubbish. But fun! Don't forget the fun.
Well I know I am not crazy to love P250 lol Even in the old CS era, I managed to learn that P228 was the DE killer in Pistol's round because it has good damage and has more capacity. So I usually pick this handgun and only use DE for specific tactic / game.
