I am SO happy I found you! I told my son "My new best friend is having a live stream on Sunday!" He knew I was talking about you 🤣 I bought some seeds today - thank you for the tomato sale and the 10% off! I love that you sell seeds you grow here in Florida. And that you try out varieties that are not typical to European descent gardening ❤ For me, wilts are what have gotten my cucumbers here in Florida 😢

Thank you for the video. The word is pronounced PAR-the-no-CAR-pic, as in the Parthenon, as in the Greek goddess Athena, who was known for being a virgin goddess. In this instance virgin = no sexual reproduction. Lots of botany is named after ancient Greek terms, including the ancient Greek pantheon. This is the reason for your next term after that "gynoecious", meaning female (= gyno).

I grew different sunflowers this season and every sunflower mildewed! I will be mixing up that peroxide and water mix!!! Thank you for taking the time to teach us about all the individual plants. I will be binge watching now!

Wow I'm surprised because I have never had mildew on my sunflower plants and I'm in FL. Just keep trying. Maybe it was just a bad season.

Have you tied Winer Sowing? In gallon jugs? I am in North Carolina and winter sowed over a hundred crops in milk jugs.I used solo cups for sowing tomatoes. Putting one cup with drain holes inside a solid cup to catch water.
@JerrasGarden
@JerrasGarden 2 месяца назад
I'm in FL so no need to winter sow, but I know a lot of people that try the milk jug method and it works great.

Hi Jerra! Do pickle worms glow at night under a black light like tomato worms do? I have a black light flashlight from Amazon. Jessica Sowards from Roots and Refuge shared the tomato worm tip on one of her videos. I’m really enjoying your videos and all the information you’re sharing. Very informative and helpful! Thank you!

I have been following her channel for years. Huge fan. I dont think pickle worms glow like the tomato horn worm. I have better luck finding them in the early morning. They go into hiding during the heat of the day. Or if your unable to keep up with hand picking, spray with BT.

Absolutely enjoy your videos When your seedlings develop their mature leaves how often do you fertilize? Also what’s your thoughts about water hardness when watering I feel like my water is a bit hard I’m in va 7b
@JerrasGarden
@JerrasGarden 5 месяцев назад
I fertilize about once a week with fertilizer mixed at half strength. I don't have experience with water hardness, but if it is not affecting your plants then I wouldn't worry about it.

I’ve been enjoying your content a few months now. We are in Destin, Florida and this summer I used a lot of shade cloth for the first time to great success but it was different-y. I know your climate varies significantly from ours, but have you tried them yet? Just curious as to what differences you’d have from mine.
@JerrasGarden
@JerrasGarden 6 месяцев назад
I have not used shade cloth yet because well....I'm too lazy to set it all up LOL. I move things into shady spots of my garden instead. But I am very curious in experimenting with shade cloth. What differences did you notice?
@bowtielife
@bowtielife 6 месяцев назад
@@JerrasGarden I can be a bit lazy as well. I did get shade cloth up over my tomatoes, and they produced in the spring and languished and survived over the summer while I was traveling a lot. They really did their peak production in the fall though! After two months of languishing in the heat of the summer, they started to produce again, and we had fairly decent production from them for us second sub season. Is that a real word? Lol.🤓 I did a lot of videos on it over the summer, but this is my first time doing it so I’m wanting to see more people in Florida who are having success with it.
