Auroth's previous f2p DPS guide changed my game and helped me lay the foundations of the fundamentals that govern the game. Top notch as always friend Auroth.
Congratulations! Been following ur guides and strategies since beginning of the channel and I'm so happy to see the channel progressing, u totally deserve it !❤
Congrats on the growth of your channel 🎉 Am really pleased for you and always appreciate the amount of work you put into these guides etc that you do for us! 🥰
Awesome video! Even as a whale I learned a ton! One thing - it would be great to get a video on all the “hidden” caps - for example crit damage caps, attack speed caps, primary attack speed vs attack speed, and buffs the have caps (as you mention only the highest value buff applies)
I will have to do my own testing to confirm caps but here are the general knowledge aboutsome important ones (they might not be correct) There are also some exceptions to these but in most cases it is: 1. Cooldown Reduction: 30% 2. Movement Speed: 70% 3. Beneficial effect duration 80% (possibly) 4. Attack speed 100% (no cap on summons) 5. Crit Damage 200% (some people say this but I have not tested it and this might be fake news) I will have an episode where I talk about magical attributes among other things. Then I will dive deeper into the topic 🙏
Auroth this is a masterclass of a video. So clever! I will take this and try to improve my character more. I sort of understood the fundamentals but not the in-depth calculations. Your friend Urqhart - Annihalation
Great video, I used to have a strong DH building on everything but now I've gotten more into PvP, overtime I feel like I've lost my way. I need to step back and look again.
A return to the origins! I met you through your first DPS video and we now play together to win against apparently stronger foes, continuously. All my progress in the last year are profoundly influenced by your analyses. Thank you 🙏 PS - Hope to see a link for the excel sheet to calculate the new build score!!
As far as calculating damage number increases this is great information. I’m hoping in your upcoming videos you cover the more nuanced things as well like Beneficial Effect Duration and Cool Down Reduction and their caps (80% and 30% respectively) also I remember hearing that attack speed is capped at 100% but I have not personally tested it. Another topic could cover what attributes benefit what skills. You already mentioned that summons benefit from primary damage increases but another common one would be do primary damage increases work for whichever primary when using painsower and channeling strafe? Does strafe/skill damage increases effect this? When playing a necro or Sader with a DoT detonation build how valuable is potency, 2p Baron, and Misery elixer 1* gem? Just a few examples. I look forward to the next video. Good to see more content creators spreading actual game knowledge.
Terrific video! I'm very confused about the concept of Attack Speed verses Primary Attack Speed. Are they the same thing? Do they add together? I'm asking, because I tried to make a +100% attack speed sorceress build, but it didn't seem like the three legendary essences stacked with each other or with the 4-piece Urges bonus. At least they didn't stack on the stat screen. Also, as a Necro, I often have several break armor debuffs on my builds - poison golem for 10%, off-hand golem for 15%, and grim scythe for 38%. Are you saying that these separate debuffs don't stack? Finally, for a future video, I'd love a full explanation of how potency and resistance interact for knockbacks, knockups, slows, stuns, poison, and fears. Also, what do the reforges "Resistance to Knockbacks," "Resistance to Stuns," "Resistance to Slows," and "Resistance to Fears" actually do? Thanks again!
1. Attack Speed affects both primary attacks and cast time of skills. Primary attack speed only affects your primary. They do stack but some attack speed buffs dont stack with each other. 2. This is a complicated topic. Most armor breaks are flat (meaning they give the full value) While some other debuffs are diminishing (they probably go into bracket 1) For example poison golem is flat armor break so this will not stack with other flat armor breaks like lingering wounds. It will stack with corrosive slab but that debuff will not give the full value (meaning its not flat) I spent many hours trying to figure out the exact logic but I seem to find lots of inconsistencies. 3. Resistance reduces harmful effect duration on yourself while potency increases it on your enemies. Knockbacks are not harmful effects. 4. 6% resistance to knockbacks means that the knockback effect on you will fail 6% of the time. The same go for other similar affixes. Edit: Any buff to your primary attack speed will not show up on your attribute screen 🙏
@@Auroth_DI Thanks so much! I guess I'll need to do some testing. For example, for Vanguard, I've been using the Grim Scythe to break the boss's armor for the party, but if it doesn't stack with the golem or corrosive slab, then I might be better off using those slots for skeletons. Also, I'd like to know if my armor breaks stack with Bane (Blight Orb) on the boss. If mot, then that'll affect my choice of charm or build I go with.
Great video overall. However, I would also like to know how can I consider the following areas: 1. Beneficial effect duration: this increases the buff uptime (usually an attack bonus) which would eventually increase the DPS. 2. Damage gems like Wulfheort or Echoing Shade, which deals X% base damage over 20 seconds. Using the free trial of Wulfheort, I tested (on dummy) the Wulfheort rank 10 effect does similar damage to my Berserker's Eye rank 10. I found it extremely difficult to evaluate the damage gems. Can Auroth advise me on that?
You are 100% correct! I could have mentioned it in this video allready but I will discuss this topic and much more in an upcoming episode of this series. Another equally important attribute is cooldown reduction which will also be thoroughly explained. One of the episodes will also be all about legendary gems and there I will explain everything you should look for and the most efficient strategies! For dps output the thumb rule is to always opt for gems with damage modifiers on them that also corresponds with your current build.
In theory whether Wulfheort is better depends on how much "base damage units" your skills do together every second. The exact number is hard to calculate, approximately it is like this: if you do a primary attack - you do 1 base damage, if your skeletons are attacking at the same time, this is +2 base damages, then golem +1 base damage, poisons +1 base damage every second, and so on. If every second you do 100 base damages, then Wulfheort will be [(100+1)xB1xB2...B6] which is almost always worse than a +16% gem = [100x(B1+0.16)xB2...B6]. If every second you do 2 base damages, then Wulfheort will be [(2+1)xB1xB2...B6] a lot better than a +16% gem [2x(B1+0.16)xB2...B6]. Need to find out how many such "base damage units"/second every class does on average, and this will answer if adding more base damage units is better.
What is unclear, and was unclear in the old dmg formula video too: is Bottled Hope damage increase in a gem bucket or in a buff bucket? Logically it is both, a gem and a buff. But if BH's effect is a buff, and if it is overriden by other damage buffs - why is it so popular?
Thank you for the great channel. Question! I recently started the game, I’m currently paragon 230 and I find it hard to understand if it’s worth considering anything other than CR until I get into highest difficulty? Swapping gear so quickly that rerolling stats and min maxing feels like a waste since I probably will find a higher item in a couple of hours. From what point do you start finding your “forever-items”?
Good Job. I find it really helpful. But r u sure "Mother's Lament" and "Roiling Consequence" can stack 100% like that? As my experience, it's not working that way.
Wonderful as always. Question: so the 30% dmg modifier on Crusader light horse for instance, what wouldn’t that stack with since some dmg buffs do not stack. I think most Saders run light horse for open world or dungeons and we may be screwing up our damage with other modifiers that are not stacking. Thx !
@@Auroth_DIlooks like skill says enemies take 30% more dmg, sounds like an armor break type debuff - can’t think of and essence or gem or anything this would conflict with or override
Can you make an excel sheet? For this ahahahah Nice contect also can you explain in some video about the availabilities about lose control etc wich abilities are considered in that category and the others too is there a lot of effects but it's tricky in what category belong
I have constructed a detailed spreadsheet that calculates everything. It also includes beneficial effect duration. I could also probably update it with cooldown reduction. I just need to find the time to do it 😂 You can add me on auroth_di and I can send it over when it is updated 😊
Hey @auroth, i have one question, did you play tempest? i cant find answer anywhere. I even did post on reddit, got a lot of upvotes and still dont have the answer. Do dmg on rolling surf skill scales of primary atack dmg % or skill dmg %? wondering wich reforge should i do: ability or primary?
Unfortunately I have not tested this. Take of all your items except your offhand and try with and without a yellow rune at dummy to see if it works. I am quite confident it should apply the dmg effect 🙏 It syncs with gloom if I am not mistaken so 99% sure it will 😊 Edit: I mean that it most likely scales from primary attack dmg 🙏
You are correct. I do not believe this will add a flat value though. It will add 10% of 100-current chc. If your chc is 70% your stance will add 10% of 100%-70% = 3% The same goes for most chc buffs. In other words a chc buff adds less chc the higher your flat chc is. All chc sources accounted for in this video adds flat chc. I will explain this more in detail in an upcoming episode of this series 🙏
I will cover the optimal strategies regarding normal gems in an upcoming episode but is this your main takeaway from this video bro? 🤓❤️ The secondaries have an effect in your PvE output but not as much as some people are saying. As a f2p the normal gems should be a long term goal and not a quick fix. I will talk more about this in-depth.
