I got a diamond level 4 moose 277.11 while finding my drinking zones and in the same zone there is 2 moose with the same exact scoring estimate

it's a game! if the devs designed it to work like that then it's a mechanic within in the game. IRL would u shoot the small animals? of course not. you let them grow up and then hunt them when they're adults. that would be real life HM and this mechanic kind of simulates that. just like WOTH where the animals actually grow up so there's also HM in that game. play the game the way u enjoy it. all this HM drama is ridiculous....it's a hunting "game". get over it. the annoying vids are all the grinding vids. i don't need to watch a bunch of different creators jump from tripod to tripod on medved for 3 hours...lol. we need new types of content like KC starting at level 1. different kind of vids rather than all grinding vids. maybe hunting at times other than drink times also. a 3 hour grinding vid is kinda bleh whether ur doing HM or not

Herd management isn't really an exploit, it's more of a method. I use it in my grinds because it condenses your map, allowing more efficiency. Though I will admit it makes diamonds much less special.

'HM' in CotW fits the definition of a video game exploit as much as any other video game exploit ever has. That said, you are free to use it if you wish, as the devs have decided to express that they don't consider it cheating.. It's important to keep in mind that the developers refrained from saying anything about HM for a very long time, and so referring to HM as cheating was entirely out of the question at the time when they decided to comment on it. Importantly, whether it is considered 'cheating' or not by the developers does not mean that it is not an 'exploit'. One of the problems we are currently faced with is that the vast majority of the community do not understand the fundamental difference between a 'cheat' and an 'exploit': they often go hand in hand, but they also have their own definitions which separate them - this has lead to content creators who don't understand this vital difference informing their communities that EW has confirmed that 'HM is not an exploit', when in fact, that is entirely not true.

Ive been using the bow alot along with the range finding sight and it's honestly very effective if you're hunting a multiple zone lake, I haven't saved up enough for the 300 mag yet and I use the 6.5 for anything over 300 meters, mostly due to the accuracy at that range and it gets the job done! I am also looking for tips on zone management, a lot of my main shooting lakes have turned to all females and it hasn't made it easy to grind, love the vids and tips thanks alot!

Believe me, the bow doesn't lose its value even after acquiring everything in the game. With the spook distance being what iit is these days it can be an invaluable tool to clean up most drinking zones in an area. By the way if you're grinding anything class 4 and lower you can use the Vasquez Cyclone instead, it also doesn't immediately spook surrounding animals. Pretty fun if you want to hunt whitetail or pronghorn or something!

Or another quick tip is wait for one of the animals heads to go to drink and shoot the one with the head up then hurry and swap to the one with the head down

Didn’t need the guide since I spawned my GO last night but yet another great and professional guide by you. If I had to give something to add though, I’d recommend people to be at lvl 60 to get the most out of it and to make the grind much easier. I feel like a lot of people who ask about grinding probably aren’t at that point yet.

Sadly everyone wants to follow the status quo and jump into a grind without being ready or learning the game. I'm not sure of how it is for others, but on my maps the wind direction is overwhelmingly north to south. That shapes my approach strategy. Hunting from the north to south just doesn't work for me. Your experience?

hotspots and home ranges are constantly changing, which is why i don't make these guides anymore. most of my maps are out of date as of now so i've taken those ones down in the discord. any maps that are still relevant are pinned in the cotw-general channel in my discord. you can find the link in my descriptions. cheers.

I have to say it. REGARDLESS of the streamer, when it comes to COTW....i automatically assume and believe that in MOST instances of diamonds, great ones, etc....its due to mods. The mods have ruined this game in terms of its social presence. I think at the end of the day it comes down to what inspires you, aka:to each their own. For me tho....i cant watch ANY cotw vid without rolling my eyes.

Alright lemme clear this out on the outpost on the bottom left with the litte lake i saw a level 5 running looked at EVERY lake around there and didnt find him until I looked at the guide and saw that mountain had a damn near invisble lake on it and thats where I found him, he was a diamond. Thank you sir 🫡
