Saw another guy explained this same thing, been trying to get it for a while - he did it in 25 minutes and I understood it only after watching this. Very very useful 5 minutes.
Hello, Ive been trying hard to learn this, but I always seem to "overshoot" the last part of the landing ( 3:30 ) and it has been driving me crazy and im not sure why. I always end up like 20m far from the point or im forced to do a really hard turn on the end. Any ideas? I could send you some video of me trying to land. I'd like to improve, but I have no idea what im doing wrong.
Hi, you've actually touched on a topic that I left out of the video. Overshooting the mark is common when first learning to land and my advice would be that if you are going to overshoot the landing, do NOT try to turn harder to land on the mark. Instead, if you're overshooting, just continue the landing to a new location nearby and focus on the landing technique. Also, a common mistake that people make early on, is to approach the glide phase to the mark from a to narrow angle to the mark. Take a wide approach, you'll scrub more speed and will be able to make minute adjustments easier.
Just to followup, offset farther to the right when you start your glide to the lz. And focus on technique and landing closer the the mark will come with time.
