Helpful presentation here, thanks for your videos. I just received my custom forefronts, leather capped toe, my emboss on the tool pouch, etc. And they're breaking in on schedule, easier than I had worried it would be.
As a lineman go 15 years. I’ve worn Hoffman whites. And now I climb in $170 danners have also climbed in Wolverine and Haix lol whatever boot that’s comfortable not a fan of the true lineman boot anymore.
Didn't realize there was a boot dedicated to riding. I just purchased today but wondering if I should cancel my O.T. and change to the Western Packer. Are you able to hike comfortably in the western packer?
They look like great boots, BUT I could NOT wear any one of them. All of them would squish my toes especially with the narrowest point in the middle. Hello bunions! Geez, will any work boot manufacturer EVER make a foot shaped boot FFS???? 😫
What would be your recommendation for brickwork, it’s what I currently do in North Carolina and I have flat feet and haven’t found a boot that last more than a year
I would recommend our Forefront model. This has our lowest profile arch support, but is still enough to help with flat feet. This also has our more flexible midsole and a wedge sole. If you don't like wedge soles or want a boot with lugs, the O.T. would be the next best thing. Hope this helps, if you have any questions feel free to reach out to our customer support, they can get you dialed in at general@jkboots.com or (509) 487-0154
All the boots are quality but they are separated by use. If your a tradesman. You don't want the first boot. I did that and had to get the Forefronts. They were too stiff and inflexible. I still have the forest boots, I use them at home for yardwork and all around work boot at home. They will probably last me the rest of my life. But do yourself a favor and get the forefront or even the 300 if your in the building trades.
I'm a boot and leather lover first and foremost. Am I crazy for wanting a pair of their boots just because I love boots and want to sport them around on my days off of work?
At the end of the day it's still just footwear. It may be made to excel in certain conditions, but at it's core a shoe is a shoe is a shoe. Wear what you like and enjoy.
Just ordered my second pair of JK Boots, Absolutely love my fire inlanders. The quality, comfort and craftsmanship of a JK boot is unbelievable. I’m a Dozer operator, constantly in mud and rock. I can’t get a redwing or danner to last 6 months, I’m 2 years into the fire inlanders, the sole is only half worn, not a stitch out of place, not a sign of leather stretch or wear, and the most comfortable footwear I ever wore in my life
Speaking from personal experience, it depends how bad it is. For mine, even the Forefronts I recently received and my OT's have good support. I do own a pair of Nick's Builder Pro's (comparable to the Superduty) and they do offer a lot more support because of the higher heel, but for my work I really don't need that much. I use them more for casual hiking, yard work (have a steep banking I have to mow) and stuff like that. For my indoor warehouse job I much prefer the Forefronts or OT's.
he is %100 right about the wedge sole indoor/finishing workers preferring that type of boot, ive tried several types of boots but a 6”-8” wedge boot is always my go-too boot type since i started doing insulation 3 1/2 years ago, it just works this type of boot helps me move more freely in tight areas in attics and my feet dont hurt after putting batts up all day, also good platform boots for using drywall stilts would be a wedge sole boot as well
what do you think would be a good boot for a loader or excavator operator? ive just been getting cheap boots but im tired of them wearing out in a 6 months
One thing I've always wondered, maybe you can answer. When you put the heel on, it's way undersized and you shave down the heel stack and midsole to match it. Why not get a larger footprint? I would think stability in the ankle would be improved. Just wonder if there's a deeper reason. Just bought a pair of honey redwoods for the season, excited to see what they're about.
Hello buddy! I’m interested to get a pair of the O.T model boot that you presented… Could you confirmo how can I buy a pair of those boots? Should be through Amazon or is there an official webpage to buy them?
Can females get fitted for your boots? My wife has small feet (size 9 in mens, I think) but wide and a very high arch and I would love to get boots for her... and me too....
I am really excited to make my Troll Thorogood 1957s the ThoroGourd 1958 Juicy THICC versions of the 300 lol.. This project is going to be so much fun.. Even better if you make a second pair to send to @RoseAvil
Awesome information. Love this product. Please grow! Get a manufacturing engineer, go hard on process without loosing the art, but definitely increase capacity, reduce wait times. Set your principles in stone and transfer the knowledge.
hi Tim, man i love your boots i don’t own a pair yet but i’ve to get the fore foot boot. i live in california how do i go about getting a boot i would love the brown in color fore foot boot in a 10 D. just made i don’t need a measured fit. thank you please help what do i do next, Kevin.
As a mechanic in my line of work, being on concrete a lot makes the fore front an option, but because I am on the go all day for 12 hours in and out door and climbing a lot rather working on elevators, silos, or going on the roof of the plant to work on MAU's. The super duty or lineman makes more sense. I have a pair of Nick's Builder Pros and it's by far been the best boot I have ever worn and most comfortable and I have worn all the big name mass produced boots from Ariat to Red wing...... None of them last 3 months and then they are shot. Did I mention I weld too..... I weld daily at the plant. I wish there was away to combine all of the best aspects of these boots and make them a bit more water proof because unfortunately I find myself a lot having to walk through water or watery mud or really bloody who knows what because I work in Rendoring at a Hog butchering plant. I would think the Super duty would work just as well or the same as my builder Pros but again, I need to find a better way of water proofing, tried bees wax....... Only lasts so long..... by so long, I mean like a day or two.....lol. I will say this, rather JK or Nick's, or most PNW boots are great and a hell of a lot more comfortable and better on the feet, knees, and back then any other mass produced boot and last a hell of a lot longer too!
Do you have something for the factory worker? I’m a tool and die maker. I’m required to have the safety toe and an anti slip sole. And do you recommend upsizing to accommodate the safety toe? Thanks.
Great question! We do not recommend sizing up when ordering boots with a safety toe. If you are on a shop floor most of you day, we recommend looking at the Forefront which has a soft outsole while still maintaining good amounts of grip. However, if you need something with deeper lugs, the O.T. will be a great option!
Idk man, the red X is probably one of the toughest out there. I know a lot of people who work on concrete floors like the wedge some boots but those are gonna be softer. The wedge soles are awesome and lights and flexible and comfy but they will wear down faster and if you kick stuff a lot they can break chunks off at the toe area. But they are really good for comfy on concrete and maybe worth a try. But as far as toughest sole the red X or maybe standard v100 of you aren’t on fire service are probably the best options.
I don't like that you don't add an option for the uppers size. It wouldn't be to much more work. I've never worn boots that the uppers didn't fit me. I feel like I got a pair of boots that were custom for someone else because the upper is way bigger than I can stand. I thought I was going to be able to wear them, but im probably not able to. I got a pair of Bison Forefronts, and they are nice, minus that. I only got average width, which fits my foot great, minus the upper. When I tighten them, the laces are to close making the boots more uncomfortable than they should be. Sucks because im 600 into a pair of boots I can't wear.
I have a pair of Forefront on order and I’m concerned I may have the issue of not being able to properly cinch them also. I’ll just have to wait and see.
@Ronny Hoke def dont be an idiot like me and not send em back. I ended initially wearing them around the house, thinking, maybe I could do it. Also, I didn't want to wait for another pair. So now I have expensive paper weights, basically. Unless I wanna rebuild them, which is adding another 300 into them. Like, wtf lol. Anyway, if you notice there is only 1 fingers width between the laces as soon as you get them, they will tighten up each use a little and will probably close up about another 1/2 in. So keep that in mind. Then, on ur next set, get them custom. I went with the quick ship option, and they don't explain the instep at all really and when you should opt for custom boots. You can look on their site, I have pics of how they fit me. If they fit like that, then u should def get another pair, because that was day 1, they are basically touching now. Jk's solution was to give me full length leather lace guards, well I got 6 un boots and they come with full length already, so I waited another 2 weeks for that only to realize they are the exact same thing. I thought maybe they would custom make some thicker ones or something for me lol. Nope. The closer the laces are, the more material you have bunching up on ur foot every time it bends now. Anyway, just be aware there is a return policy in place, but just ensure u do ur due diligence and check and make sure they really fit before def keeping them.
@@todtalk3912 it's too bad they didn't fit, but since it's mainly the uppers that are your issue you can do something I've done with my cheaper boots... Buy a roll of mole skin (self adhesive) and cut and layer it as needed inside the upper until the boot fits you perfect again. Make sure to press it in so it doesn't move, then wear it until it really presses into place and it'll feel like part of the boot.
