Assalamalykum wa rajmatullaahi wa barakataho..sisters...subhanAllaah what an inspiring talk..put me to tears really.. I am now 68 ..i started my journey to memorisation on my own from juz amma...i don't remember but may be 6 yrs back Then i was on a visit to uae to my son...and i thought there would be quran classes in abundance ..n i will be able to join them to memorise quran ..but to my despair i couldn't find any since i was a visitor... I prayed to Allaah to help me ,.one day ,when just 1 month was left for me to return,.i was on an early morning walk..n there was this arabian lady fully covered...everyday i would cross her n think of requesting her to help. But i shyed off everytime.. but then one day Allaah's help came.. i plucked up my courage, crossed the road n wished her as salam...i talked to her..and she agreed to help me subhanAllaah.!. i couldn't believe..i was over joyed..i reviewed juz amma with her..n improved my tallafuj n makharij..them it was time to return..and can u believe she volunteered to take me online n help me continue my hifz!?..this was all divine help..!!. Ever since , i think it was 4 yrs back, she is still with me..an i have just finshed juz 25 backwards ofcourse.. and did albaqarah too in this period..i am filled with awe the way my journey continues by the rahmah of Allaah..up n downs came.. illness came as trial but Allaah did not leave me alone...never felt demotivated alhumdolillaah.. My memory was effected with covid..only quran pulled me out alhumdolillaah.. there is no gift except for tears of gratefulness for my Rubb.. Wish i could make every person believe what a sweet journey this is..n convince everyone to start this journey no matter how slow..just jump into this sea n Allaah will teach to swim through.. Love u sisters for the love of Allaah.. plz pray for me..may my last word i breath be quran n durood on my prophet Mohummad s.a.w. Why you should memorize the Qur'an; When you are told to enter Jannah, you will be told to read the Qur'an and ascend in Jannah up to the limit of your memorization.

‏For those who want to memorize the Qur’an: Reduce the number of verses or pages you memorize each day and more than the repetition and keep the continuity and keep asking for forgiveness

I have been thinking whether I can be able to memorize Al-Qur'an or not in my late 20s now. As of now, I am half way through reading the Qur'an in English to understand the words of Allah SWT first.
