I am single and live in north central Phoenix. I’m originally from Pasadena CA. My area is nice and convenient to shopping snd restaurants. It also has its city problems. If you’re moving from a suburb and want that feel, Gilbert should be your first choice. It has top schools, clean and safe. Ahwatukee or Chandler are also good choices. East Mesa is far but it nice if you have a family. If you’re looking for an upscale area, Arcadia is a great choice. North Central PHX between the 7s is also good. These area don’t feel like the desert as they are very green with large trees.

Great feedback and I agree with your comments. North Central is great and has a lot of the appeal that Arcadia does. I think traffic can be slightly more challenging up there but Central Ave is special. Hope you are enjoying Arizona and I appreciate you watching!

We're are visiting September 3-15...we are planning on moving there from Michigan...we are looking at all areas...this is helpful...we are empty nesters...husband used to live in Mesa 20 years ago...so he's 20 years ago familiar lol...

Hello, I am 55 yo female, moving from the northeast to Phx area in May with my 23 yo son who is getting out of the military after serving his time. He is a car enthusiast and is concerned about crime in the Phoenix area. I work in healthcare and have not secured a job yet. My son will be attending GCU in the fall. I will not purchase because the market is out of my range, so will rent. I was looking into the northern Glendale area, Deer Valley of North mountain area, maybe camelback east. You have touched on home purchase price a bit, but would love to hear a bit more about the rental areas. Renters can be all over the place as far as income, morals, ethics, etc, so I think finding a nice area to rent that would be affordable is complicated. (would like
