80 wpc ! This was not your first servicing of a stereo component. Good job. I bought in the 1980's Kenwood Amp M2A and the Preamp C2 and still use today. And the Tuner KT-5020 (hard to find now). And some Cornwalls plus Thorens TD 320 all at an AFB in the UK. All good low prices and Still use today. All components plug in through a Pioneer Timer (timer is very useful and forgotten component)..Oh and an SAE-two Parametric EQ (a must have addition).

My friend, this is a great video! I have just bought one of these amps (in much better condition!) and it's good to know how serviceable they are. Well done again, fantastic result.

According to your description, the potentiometer may be damaged, use detergent or replace the potentiometer with a new one!

This poor Kenwood looks like it has been living for the last 10 years at the bottom of a creek!
