Some fakes are getting really close. You don't always get to have an original at hand to compare, so it's even harder. I think Funko will have to invent some kind of proof of authenticity in the future, like a hologram sticker that is hard to fake.
@@EndlessCollectibleif there was such as thing, I suspect it would have already been invented. Funko pops just part of a very long line of items that have been being duplicated in China for decades.

With a few of these points it's not always the case. Sometimes there's colour differences just based on the printing method. Some boxes are glossier and a lot of boxes particularly in Europe have a matte like finish.
Yes true, I think the better way is to check the number series or to buy in trusted store and not from retailers (not easy I know I bought a lot from retailers haha)
I needed this! I mostly don't order funkos from ebay, I mostly get from my local collectibles store, Gamestop, and Walmart but if I ever order I will use these tips.
Funko will hopefully add a security thread on all future pop boxes just like the government does with currency and the security thread will glow in the dark using a uv blacklight no one can use a scanner or printer to reproduce the SPECIAL security thread
This is the first video of your I watched. Thank you for making the video to All difference between authentic Funko pops and the authentic because it never would have dawned on me that people can fake Funko. As somebody who is visually impaired it is very good to know the signs non-authentic Funko Pop. I love and collect Funko pops.
Not all Boxes have the factory imprint on them. I have a good few that I bought from legit stores that don’t have them. So hard to know if all my POPs are real or not
I am going to be very blunt here. Seriously, if you are just collecting these for display, who cares! Realistically they are ALL made in Asia. Not one single POP is made in the US. Here's an example: I bought a POP 4-pack of Iron Maiden Eddie limited edition from Iron Maidens website a while back, it was a pre-order of special edition with glow-in-the-dark features. Guess where they're made...CHINA. Other POPs are made in Vietnam. So if you are saying that ones made in China are fake, you would be WRONG. They are not "fake", they are just manufactured in a different facility. They are stupid little plastic toys, plain and simple.
I just had 3 fake ones in a row from Amazon, you can always tell by the bad paint job, missing parts (one of mine was legit missing a piece of his hair! XD) and by looking at the bottom of the feet and head, something is ‘always’ off there that gives it away, be it seeing black or mold cast lines, but the biggest give away is the ‘weight’ fake ones always feel too light and funko’s tend to be head/top heavy. One of the very good fakes was a glow in the dark Deku and it didn’t even glow in the dark after sitting in the sun all day XD
For anybody worried about the stamp I just got a mandalorian mystery box from gamestop last week and both my Paz Visla & Mandalorian (No stripes) both don't have the stamped serial number. I doubt game stop is selling fakes in factory plastic wrap sealed boxes. That method might vary
I bot an iron man pop off Amazon, the box looks perfect but the eyes as well as the chest piece are slightly misshapen. Is it more likely that it's fake or a misprin? (I'm leaning more towards it being a misprint because it's only the elements printed in white.)
Appreciate the detail explanation of how to spot the real and fake Funko Pops, it will help with my future purchases and how to review the ones I already own!
sometimes the bottom of the foot has funko info and some fakes have nothing...I purchased a fake ( knowing ) and it had all the correct info on the foot, which still makes me wonder, but the paint on the Pop is really off.
I have two fakes with stickers, the stuff on the bottom of the feet too :(. The only way I figured out it was fake was by looking at the hair style and the box felt like cheap cardboard instead of the glossy kind normal ones are.e
There are no "fakes". Quit listening to these dorks that think that they are some sort of Funco authenticators. They are either manufactured in Vietnam or China. I bought a 4-pack of Iron Maidens "Eddie" directly from Iron Maidens website of limited edition with glow-in-the-dark features. The box says made in China. So according to these stupid RU-vid videos, they are "fake". They are NOT. If that was the case, you're telling me that Iron Maiden themselves are selling "fake" Iron Maiden things on their own website? Lol. That is just stupid.
Thanks for this i found that out of every sonic funko pop in my collection there is only one fake and it was my first ever ebay funko i got of the Sonic's :) so happy i only need to replace 1 out of my 16 so only need a few now and i have every one apart from the first super shadow. as that go's fo £1000 on ebay and there is only 3 i have seen just need the new release of shadow & amy and the doctor eggman plus the ring scatter to finish off them all
Although I still watch his videos from time to time, I can never get over the fact that he's always got a flex seal hat on. Like why do you even have that? 🤔
Hi Top Pops, I suggest you too look at the Kenny Funko Pop from Attack on Titan. It looks so fake because of the white border around the character and the animation design doesn't have the same color as the other animation logo. It is actually made like that
Can somebody tell me if pop string lights are worth buying? I have my eyes on some deadpool, yoda, and batman lights... I really like them but I dont know if in the future I can trade them for some grails once I get over them 😬😛
They are kinda old it was a “phase” Funko went through. There aren’t a ton available and they are very rare to find in stores. I think I found one in a store about 3 or so years ago. So if I were you I wouldn’t pass up on them.😄
I just got a Pop, Chucky Chil's play 2 #56 at a Pop event, it's the bloody one but there is no blood on the face, only on the clothes and the knife. Serial and everything else is good and this guy was a collector, he told me it's coming from Australia, does anyone have heard about the fact that some pops are slightly different? It's not listed anywhere
Yes if it says that amazon is the seller you are 100% safe. However, be aware of buying pops that are sold by third party sellers, especially those that have bad reviews or no reviews.
My gus fring that I bought for 20 has no FAC but does have everything else correct, and my John wick has a very dark grey part but does have a FAC could these be real?
I’ve been lucky with avoiding fakes but man, just realized I’ve been duped. I have a Bakugo “exclusive” that doesn’t have the correct sticker, wonky lines, and horrible paint job. Too bad :/
So buying them off whatnot mean that there always legit cause I bought all of mine off whatnot with the exception of a few from certain Funko shops in my area
Hey does.anyone know what the odds of Seinfeld mini moment chases r? Target had the 6 normal ones and next to them was another display of 6 all chases ... R they not as rare as normal pop chases? tryin to figure out if i shoukd go get the other 4 i got kramer and newman ..And they had the venom blacklight packs again so if anyone needs check ur target they restocked at mine which was shocking that I got them for retail bought 2 and went back and bought one more cpl days later
Just so you know whatnot doesn't check all the funko for authenticatie, because you're buying from the sellaron they are not going to check everything the seller send out
I solely collect Naruto and boruto so I buy my fair share from resellers and online exclusives. eBay sellers who have been around for awhile with high feedback and lots of reviews are usually safe. Know PPG or Funko app prices! It’s great to find a bargain but if it looks too good to be true, it probably isn’t! Happy Hunting guys!!
