My old roommate was a Canadian and a hardcore Ti-Cats fan. He got me into the leauge but he wouldn’t by me any Ti-Cats merch so I became a Montreal fan just to spite him. Even though he was a Canadian and from Ontario the rivalry between the Ti-cats and Argos made him hate ALL Toronto teams.
The Argos/Ticats rivalry is one of the biggest in North America. I’m sorry your roommate never bought you any gear and that you have to cheer for the Als… 😂😂
I would like to see more cfl games being shown in the States. I really enjoy watching the games. I personally feel that because of the politics of the NFL the CFL would gain a lot of popularity here. I know many football fans who have stopped watching the NFL like myself because of the politics. Last year I was watching a cfl game on our 4th of July and they played our National Anthem at the beginning of the festivities. We need more cfl exposure!
The CFL actually expanded into the US in the mid90s for about three seasons. The Baltimore Stallions (now the current incarnation of the Montreal Allouettes) are the one and only team to win the Grey Cup outside Canada
@@timcombs2730 I remember that. But at that time the NFL was still very strong and hadn’t dipped so much into politics. The CFL needs more exposure here. They could get that by pushing the players who played College Football here in the states. There seems to be a lot of players in the CFL who played for small schools here in College. But also some who did play for a Power 5 school.
I think for sure the CFL can have more of a presence in the US. With the new CBS Sports deal hopefully it will continue to catch on. I haven’t found an American that has watched and not enjoyed the league and it’s product. Thanks for watching!!
Hey Stavros, so pleased to find you here on RU-vid. Great job! How about my ALS??? What a story and as a life long fan of this franchise, I couldn’t happier.
Correction Stav, the league wants an Atlantic Team, because it'd balance the schedule bablah … The fans want Halifax and Moncton added, that'd be a natural rivalry and adding Quebec City would balance out the schedule. What players and future fans need to know is target cities are those three, merci beaucoup!
@@StavrosKatsantonis Given how CFL teams make their money there is a need to find large enough market areas to support a team. As it is, I am glad there is a CBS deal and CFL+. GO [MY TEAM]!!! (I do root for the 'Cats when they are playing certain other teams.). Good luck and stay healthy.
Great video from a great CFL player. What I think with Tiger-Cats... if Redblacks is technically shares history with Renegades and Rough Riders... why Tiger-Cats doesn't share history with Tigers and Wildcats, especially knowing that Tigers and Wildcats merged into Tiger-Cats... don't know about Alerts though... They played for 2 years, won Grey Cup in 1912... then the team couldn't play... then in 1940 there was an "Alerts" team that shared no history with the original team... and then there were Wildcats who kinda took the spot of "Alerts"... so yeah... weird. PS. I see... a lot of players from original Alerts became a part of Hamilton Tigers... so yeah, that make sense. In that case... yeah, 15 Grey Cups for Hamilton.
I'm from Russia, I'm 15 years old, I've been interested in American football for a year now and the Canadian Football League interested me so much that I stopped watching the nfl (and she also interested me in the fact that it's impossible to get into the nfl from Russia, but it's quite possible to become a comanla player from the cfl) and next year when I study in college, I'll start playing American football and I have already been previously accepted into the Griffins team in St. Petersburg, my further goal is to get into an American college thanks to American football and then to the cfl, and I'm rooting for the Tiger Cats and Stampeders
I think it’s fair to count all of Ottawa’s championships. I think when I researched for this video the cfl didn’t count the old Ottawa Roughriders/Renegades wins towards the new redblacks organization for some reason.
hey man i fell in love with cfl cause of chatting with henoc on youtube before last season and messaging with him on instagram after the games i watched every argos game! plus ive spent about a month an half in toronto visiting an ex in an on off long distance relationship over a 2 yr period amazing city!
