the Comet tank is the one with the longer barrelled 17 pounder with the egg beater muzzle brake. The Comet has the gun mantle protruding out of the turret face. The Cromwell has a flat turret face which has 6 large rivets.cheers

All allied tanks were vulnerable to the 88, and the 6 pounder was superior to the 75mm which replaced it for armour penetration.

Most of the pictures were of a comet and not a Cromwell at least at the beginning!

@@historytimechannel Tank, Cruiser, Comet I (A34) as opposed to the Tank, Cruiser, Cromwell (A27M). The very first picture that appears is a Comet.

Got 2 minutes into this and gave up... terrible computer narration and 5 out of 6 of the images shown weren't of the Cromwell, but were of the Comet, so not too sure of any research that might have taken place...
