Paragon was my first and only MOBA so it took me a whole to adjust. I played it until it got canned. This video should be a great help to learning the new system for Predecessor, thanks a lot
I’m glad you can see the value, I’m hoping it helps players to focus more on playing than having to fight against a build and there opponents. Thanks for the comment!!!
@@swypht So I guess my biggest complaint from the Predecessor youtube community is that most videos are "Check out my build... here's a 40 minute video". Nobody is here for that.... We're wanting the build and why it's good not having to watch 40 minutes of the game. What we need is... "Here's my build"... with the graphics of the build on the screen and someone talking you through the build, why each bit matters. I don't mean reading the card as such... I mean "Here's the META Jungle build for a Khimera who is objective focused but likes to be ganking. You want to pick the Warrior Crest straight out the gate, then focus on completing the Basilisk, to get that Ability Haste and Health up, that's going to cost you 3,100 coins, next up focus on the Crystalline Cuirass to further increase your ability haste and health, the key to this card is after 6 stacks (explain what 6 stacks means, whilst showing a tiny bit of footage)... you gain 15% movement speed...) and finally you want to build the Berserkers Axe to really increase that Physical Power and Ability Haste. The Key to Khimera with this build is ability haste, ABILITY HASTE, ABILITY HASTE. Pounce on a player, hit your ultimate, whilst they are stunned shred them with Primary and by that point your pounce should be ready again." You can easily repurpose footage like that in a bunch of ways... here's 5 1.) As a 30 second short for youtube shorts 2.) As a Comparison video with other builds of Khimera, showing each time how fast it is to kill someone 3.) As part of a TOP META BUILDS video with all of the other heroes 4.) As the intro to a "Now here's me using the build to drop 20 kills whilst getting all the fangtooths, orbs and towers" 5.) In a 10 minute video with the build up front, then highlights of every kill We just need some better short form content that teaches.
@@swypht Smite made me think more expensive items should be mid-late game items. Cheaper items give you a quicker power spike than your opponents. Why is that different in Predecessor?
@@winfredrembert so there’s different train of thoughts - let’s see if I can explain it. So tier 3 mage items tend to range between 2900 and 3100 gold , example Caustica vs megacosm -> caustica is 2900gold vs megacosm which is 3100gold. 200 gold in this game is not enough of a time difference between the two cards to gain enough of an advantage to play caustica over megacosm. So we would opt for the more expensive card in most cases because the time to cost difference isnt all that great. The better item should be played. Cards like oblivion crown land in what your describing - 3600 gold and each item is 1200 for each step of the build path - the amount of time wasted before getting benefit is great , this card would make just about all other cards worth putting on before oblivion crown. Next you have items that give you instant worth while your building other cards because you gain the cards passive early and finishing the card doesn’t give you that much of a benefit (Cards like brimstone that builds into Fireblossom, or spikes birch gives you anti heal) Then you have cards that need to be built up over time like chalice -> mindrazor or orb of growth -> orb of enlightenment or a finished Stormbreaker that requires stacks. All these require early buys or your wasting the card because there not being optimized. So generally more expensive cards are put on early because they provide more value EXCEPT (the really really expensive ones that have bad build paths “oblivion crown”) If you build items that stack they take precedence. Then there are unique tier one items that get built first and you wait to finish.
You mentioned it at the start, but with the new 6 items coming this was a horrible time to cover items. most if not all items will be changing, along with new items. good video, actually great video, poor timing for guide though.
So understanding items is kinda timeless, all the “why” questions are going to be relevant, The resource that allows you to see what good players are buying isn’t gonna go away because the items are pulled in via an api and the data is compiled based on patch. So that resource is going to be timeless. The only thing that will likely poorly age are what items are meta but they are relevant to the topic of hey these where good because the addressed a need so you need to figure out which new items will address the need your trying to figure out. So this is more like an item prep guide with some relevance now!!!
@@swypht Yes Omeda city is a great tool, but my statement still stands. you have this “Ultimate guide” thats released around the V.18 update and you didnt cover the new items or talk about what the old items will be doing post V18. Like i said. great video. but poor timing. Id recommend keeping the assets of your video editor readily available and reupload this video again after V18 with the new items included.
Im hoping this helps people going into that patch and then after the patch is dropped I was gonna do a video on any major changes in items played pre vs post patch. I appreciate the feedback and Thanks for the Comment!!!
Hmm idk how I feel about Grux with Tainted Scepter, Orb of Enlightenment, Truesilver Bracelet, and Megacosm. But then again I won’t know until I’ve tried it right?
This isn’t a Grux guide - he’s just got a great pose!!!! This is just a general itemization guide. Still categorize your respective champions according to there needs. If this comment was a joke about the thumbnail you freaking scared me!!!
So I saw alot of higher level games with the carry running it to counter feng and Kallari n crunch. was unique and thought it was fine to stick in the category. unique interaction opportunity like this one.
@@swyphtNo offense, but that's terrible justification. Stonewall should have at least been in the bruiser and/or tank sections if it was ever going to be considered a carry item.
@@kylerxius there’s gonna be overlap with items, supports will put truesilver bracelet as a support item while gideon players will say it’s a mage item, raiment falls into the same category supports will say it’s a support item but bruisers and tanks use it as well. Which category it gets talked about shouldn’t matter so much as that it gets talked about. Finding intresting ways to present information , being a little early didn’t seem like a bad idea at the time but I appreciate your feedback and will keep that in mind.
@@swypht I just mean for the "Ultimate Itemization Guide", it's content is very vague and situational without thorough explanation. Instead of splitting them by 'role' you should have categorized them by the jobs they are built for specifically.
Thanks god I got this video so I can send it to my friends and learn more about exactly what item to use on certain champions, recommended are fine but feel like lackluster in certain situations or against certain heroes
So (Omeda.city) has an item builder that lets you see all the stats but also gives you data on diffrent sections of player base and what they are using, I prefer using pc to deal with Omeda.city but if you spend some time figuring out your phone it’ll work too!!!
Appreciate you trying to help. I just get confused and slightly overwhelmed by all the different screens, and what something evolves or "Pairs" with.. idk.. the auto is a must for me, but i see it does things differently than what i would like, compared to how i used to in paragon.. its just not an intuitive hud and menu for me
Yes, which isn't helping. Since it is also confusing to use right stick to navigate the menu. But that in itself is something i could live with. Hope they change the item shop drastically:)
