@@HazewinDog Nope, superchargers work off the crank so you have boost from idle, turbos need enough exhaust gasses to spin them up,so they take I while to make boost. The Delta S4 did this in the group b rally days.

@@sneekeruk while true, it is my understanding that superchargers essentially add a static percentage of extra power, so at a higher rpm and higher power, that's more power. While at least for more modern turbo technology, you can gain a LOT of power/torque down low with a smaller turbo, which however would run out of steam at higher RPMs. But I did forget to consider that turbo technology wasn't as good back in the 90s. In the 80s turbos were not efficient enough to be used for low end power I believe.

@@HazewinDog Its not power it adds, its a static amount of boost, so you have a pully on the supercharger that supplies a set psi, for example 10psi. And depending on the engine, wherever its most efficient it gains most, and the supercharger size makes a difference as well bigger=more air moved, but it has to be sized wo that its not pushing more air into the engine then can fit into the cylinders.

@@HazewinDog In most modern cars the turbos are sized too small for performance. They are there because (especially in Europe) emmisions required the use of low capacity engines, they needed more torque. Superchargers have always been better at lower RPM, turbos are far more efficient at high RPM when properly sized.

There is a Caterham Kei Car. The Caterham Seven 160 is the only model from the brand that meets Japan's Kei Car specs thanks to the Suzuki Jimny's 660cc engine. Though the global spec is tuned to 80hp, the JDM Kei-Spec model is restricted to 63hp.
