Nice breakdown! I recieved my 23' Vanquish C2000S and C2000SHG and the line management is impeccable. The new technology really works. They cast like a dream. The C2000SHG is going to replace my 22' Stella of the same size due to the weight difference. 6.2 oz. vs. 5.2 for the Vanquish. The only downside to the new Vanquish is the inertia isn't as floating free as the 19' model. Maybe it's the new gearing or grease. At least on the reels I recieved. It's still lower than the Stella but not by much.
I've been using a Shimano Vanford 3000 paired with a St Croix Triumph 7'6" medium fast action for the last year and I love it. Caught a 43" red yesterday in Sargent on that setup. 10lb pp braid and 20lb fluoro leader. It was the best inshore fight I've ever had. Last piece of info, I was in an Old Town Predator MK. You and MDLR inspired me 2 years ago to get a kayak. I went with a matching set for friends and family. Love your channel. Content is always awesome.
Ordered Shimano Vanquish C3000 XG on 5/25/23 when I saw it first available at Digitaka. It arrived perfect 2 days later without paying for overnight shipping or anything. Coincidentally, I had a kayak trip planned to the Nature Coast here in Florida on 5/28. I paired the Vanquish, 10lb braid, with a Bull Bay 7' Tac-X rod and it is very light. I launched early, paddled to my favorite spot, using topwater, missed a hit on cast 5, paddled to a different spot and on my 1st cast at the next point hooked and landed a 41 inch common snook. Reel was great, drag sound was music to my ears. Caught a 25 inch snook after maybe 50 more casts, missed 2 more blowups and called it a day after 3 hours. I have not fished since and I have been fishing with a Shimano Vanford 2500. I sensed the Vanquish was tighter than the Vanford and maybe required a touch more effort to use. Vanquish is a beautiful reel but maybe the Vanford is my sweetspot.
The number one 1000 size spinning reel is without doubt Daiwa 23 Exist SF 1000S-P ! I have used it for one month now, and it blows anything out of the water, including my Shimano Vanquish 2023 1000 SSSPG !!
I would pick airity, but the slow oscillation from stella is game changer to me, it'll help casting a lot further even with small spool. I usually use 5000 vanford reel to cast, big diameter spool helps a lot, and my vanford 5000 are lighter than most of 2000 reel outhere.
I have done a lot of casting comparison without noticing any benefit with the slow oscillation. Instead sometimes line can dig into lower layers because of the tight parallel layering. Mitchell had this line management already in the 1960´s but stopped using this later.
@@DrJanLindberg ooh I thought tighter line can fit more line per layer and will affect less layer dig per cast. But I never user Stella slow oscillation in real life
In my experience, Daiwa's Locomotive drive never compared to Shimano's worm gear oscillation for casting distance! Shimano hands down outcasts Daiwa with spinning reels.
Those reels are the same but different. The Daiwa is neo-samuri art deco and the Shimano neo-samuri zen art deco. Both pay homage to the great reels if the past. The Shimano colour scheme that off the great Mitchell 300 and variants. The 300 alone sold 25 million. Even with a nick name "french coffee grinder". It really is amazing how much spinning rees have evolved. Id be happy with either one but more happy with both.
Great video. Looks like Shimano is going old school with their Vanquish and Twin Power reels. The 2023 Vanquish and 2024 Twin Power both went with the same look and design of their older generation models. New subscriber.
Great timing! I Definitely need a new 1000 for an ultra light 6’ micro spin rod I just built,I was looking at a vanford but I’ve not yet decided,I’ve got the 2500 it’s been excellent! and it’s as light as all my old 1000s that are well worn out and desperately in need of retirement.
The internals on the new Vanquish feel more like the Vanford than the Stella fk .. 23 Vanquish is def a lil bit lighter than the new Stella fk but it doesnt have the smoothness on the crank or that ultra premium feel u get that the 22 stella fk has or the 2018 exist which both have that butterish feel to them. The line lay on the new vanquish is definitely an upgrade from the previous model but other than that the 2019 vanquish is just as smooth and comparable .. i will be selling my vanquish 1000 ssspg taking that money and putting it towards the new 23 daiwa exist sf 😅
I may grab 1. Love the color. I have a few set up's but, I love my Pflueger President 2000 paired with my Diawa AIRD X 6' 6" MFS. The Rod matches the Spinning Reel & it will handle bulls & I've played with many 21" to 27 3/4" Reds while out on the Old Town Salty 120 pdl out in X-Mas Bay & some other cuts around the Quintana Beach Bridge. 🤟
I bought a Vanquish to compare with my Daiwa 23 Airity reels. It is a good reel, but not up to the 23 Airity level. 🙂 For the really light finess fishing, the upcoming Daiwa 23 Exist SF will be even more interesting!
Mind to share the difference? Why Vanquish not up to the Airity 23 level? I’m not fortunate enough that I’m able to get both for comparison. So, I have to tabulate the pro and cons of both before making my hard decisions.
I hear ya, yes most reels have some play, but daiwa MQs are notorious for stem wiggle. The LT line will also have some play. Yes even shimanos can have play as well, but some come with that thick metal piece that helps prevent a lot of the wiggle you get in Daiwa reels.
I own a few Daiwa in spinning plus baitcaster and own a couple of Shimano’s so I don’t discriminate against either brand. I would want a high end spinning reel in either Shimano or Daiwa. I’m leaning towards the 23 Vanquish or should I go in another direction. My combo limit will be at $700-$800.
You can also use the new 23 and 18 Cardiff for bfs bro? Yes the vanquish is the pinnacle of Shimano spinning reel. Yes you are correct it is better than a twin power and a 23 Stella. The osilation is definitely better than an exist. What I find interesting is that you get almost all the practicality of the Daiwa exist in a reel that is almost half the price of an exist sf
Fishing for speckled trout, redfish, and flounder throwing popping cork and throwing 1/4 or 1/8 jigs. Would you recommend this vanquish or the 2024 twin power fe in the 3000 size

The 1000ssspg body of the 1000 and The C model from 2000 -2500 the body is a 1000 now the reg 2500 it body has a 2500 now the C3000 it has a body of a 2500 there is only one 3000mhg that body has a 4000 body so does the 4000-5000 has the body of a 4000 that was a month full I have the old daiwa airity they are better than the new ones that’s my opinion I just don’t like the spool daiwa need to bring the graphite bales
@RX Angler have you seen ifish's 1000ssspg vanquish? the drag sound is crispier and uses Felt washer, does the 2000 use felt washer or carbontex? Thanks
I own both and all I can tell you is the Stella is a tiny bit smoother and a little more robust feel to it but the Vanquish is lighter and the inertia is little easier to start the reel. They both have the same technology. I prefer the Vanquish just due to the ounce less in weight. They're both great reels.

@jakepokedex The c2000s and c2000shg hold 110yds. 4Lb, and approximately 82yrs.of 5LB.(U.S.). I use 4,5 or 6 LB. on mine and it works fine but wouldn't go up to 8LB. I use the c2500shg if I want to go up to 8LB. It holds 120yrs.5LB, 104/6LB and approximately 77yrs. of 8LB.
It's lighter, has Shimano's latest technology and the spool more shallow. The ci4 is still a great reel to this day but it's more comparable to the Vanford than the Vanquish.
Yes, theyve kinda changed the marketing sizing. 1000, 2500 etc refers to spool size only, and there are small, medium and large size bodies. So there is some crossover with C2500 (2500 spool and rotor with 1000 body) and with Daiwa starting with the PC3000 is large body (3000 spool with large 4000-ish body PC is more power/torque). Also, i ordered a pc3000 mid gear Airity and it already has a light grinding whirling noise. Not good. Anyone else have issues with 2023 Airity? Im deciding on a c2000 or c2500 and this is steering me away from Airity. Cheers. Also note- there are 2 different 2000 sizes. One has the small body, 1000 rotor, 2000 spool and tiny handle. That is essentially the 1000 with more line capacity. And this one here c2000hg is small body, 2000 spool and 2500 rotor and bigger knob. @RXangler. You are not very transparent because you pass very quickly on the friction noise of this reel that we hear between 6 and 6.05 minutes. It makes the same noise as the vanford. This is not normal in this price range. Daiwa has the same problem.
Does anyone have the megabass windbuster or the megabass baby plugging rods or the Orochi xx shaky head or the Orochi xx whip snake or the Ronin rods because I’m getting really to buy these rods but I just wondering if anyone has them and what reel size reel be good for them let me know thanks
Can't speak for the Airity but my new Vanquish is just flat out Great. The Vanquish casts like a bullet, perfect line lay and line management and is as light as a feather. Shimano always beats down Daiwa with technology. Daiwa just keeps repackaging the same reels with no innovation.
