Love your videos. Recently bought a iPhone 14 pro and I’ve bought all the accessories off your recommendations… I couldn’t be happier. Thank you so much for your efforts and doing this!!
A few days ago I searched for “MagSafe vs alternatives”, hoping you had done a video like this. I open RU-vid tonight and this pops up! Awesome, in depth reviews as always 👍🏻.
You do an excellent job with this videos! The editing, your personality....all excellent! Hopefully your audience continues to grow as I feel you're one of the best reviewers out there. Thanks for producing this new one! 🙂
*Keep in mind, the hotter it runs, the worse it is on your battery. You might save a measly 25 bucks getting the Anker instead of the Apple MagSafe charger, but after a year, you may have more wear on your battery and want to replace that, which is either 80 or 100$ now (I think Apple raised their battery replacement prices). Gotta think ahead.*
@@juliolopez6490Sort of yea. Apple MagSafe costs quite a lot and charges pretty slow, but that’s exactly what makes the phone battery less damaged. Plus both of the Apple devices can communicate and not overcharge the phone
the belkin charger is the ONLY non apple magsafe charger that will charge at 15w i don’t think this was mentioned in this video (it’s also cheaper than apples charger and has a longer braided cable)
I need a charger that works through my non-magsafe case. Knowing that the ESR Halo goes through 40mm helps a lot. I would have used your affiliate link but you never included one.
i had the apple MagSafe puck and returned it the next day. not sure if mine was defective or not, but it would become EXTREMELY hot after a short period of time.
@@Sarahonwheels i get its normal for heat, im using the belkin 3 in 1 stand magsafe and it doesn’t get no where near as hot as the magsafe puck when i had it so i’m not sure what happened. that’s why i just prefer the belkin, no issues at all
@@kenni417I do have a 3 and 1 stand that I use for overnight use and it doesn’t get hot but the smartish charge dingy I use sometimes get warm. Charges great though. I think it’s just how brands generate heat
Yeah. Mine did that. I live where it’s definitely summer, so wireless charging my iPhone does get hot in general. To fix the problem, I only charge my iPhone with Apple’s MagSafe wireless charger next to a fan. It’s been working great.
I have and used the Apple MagSafe wireless charger and it does get hot. Hopefully, the quality pays for that extra cash. I usually only wirelessly charge my iPhones and AirPod Pros against a fan.
I just stick with the Apple mag safe. It’s made & designed for my iPhone 13. No complaints, it just works. I don’t want to over analyze because I have a life to live. Very informative video. Thanks
I’m new here and had to stop the video to you talk so fast, an excellent video and you are very talented and Monty seems to love the tie! I’m going too look at Berklin Boost Pro; because I think they make great products! Yes I agree with another comment about your reviews should include Berkin products! Again, tyvm & tell Monty, he’s very handsome, quite & very well taken care of! Cynthia:)🍀🇺🇸☮️🙋♀️🐾🐾
I’d like to know how the Otterbox MagSafe ranked? Just got one 2 days ago for my 14 and it seems great, not much heat and charges pretty fast. I THINK it is capped at 7.5 W and if that’s the case I don’t mind, I’m never in a massive rush to charge
A'n'M-the-Ho's! The most impressive part isn't that you bought all of those, which is admittedly cool, but rather that you had to discharge the phone with every test. That must have taken forever man. Anyway, this was a helpful video. Hope all is well with you guys. Glad to see you still posting, and gee whiz, up to nearly 400k subs? I've been watching you since you were in the 30k range breaking iPhone 6 Plus's in a Speck grip case :)
Bought the Anker for the cord length and not having a cable attached directly to the phone which can be inconvenient depending on what youre doing. 7.5 watt and the charge speed. wont really effect me
6:10 the iPhone 12 mini & 13 mini charge up to 12 W on a MagSafe charger, other phones charge up to 15 W. Thats prolly why only a 10% difference (6:18) between the 7.5 W chargers.
I never understand this logic why buy a expensive phone just to charge it slow like buying a fast sports car only to be driving slow whyyyy!!! 5w leads to 4hrs Really 2023 using a slow brick 💀 Screw it super fast charge that bad boy replacing the battery not even that expensive 😎
@@bigmaxcc It’s mainly for maintaining the health of the battery over time, as heat is the biggest enemy of batteries and faster chargers heat up more. I’ve honestly stopped caring about battery health all that much as replacements aren’t too bad specially with applecare and the battery savings you get by slow charging are negligible over time. Batteries will wear out no matter what you do.
@@bigmaxcc since when is the charging speed making the phone slow? When comparing this to cars it’s actually a electric vs gas car comparison if he charges it with 5w it just takes much longer than pumping gas into the car
Love the videos!! Your amazon link takes me to the american amazon site. Any chance you could give me the Canadian amazon link for the Anker magsafe charger?
thank you for the thickness test, I bought a rokform case for my iphone 15 pro max, and neither the Anker Cube nor the Apple Magsafe can make a connection. Waiting for the ESR Halolock Mini to arrive, going to stick a magsafe halo to the back of the charger and stick it to the Anker Cube, that way when I use the cube to wirelessly charge again, even if it defeats the purpose of being a 3-in-1 charger, but it doesn't work with my case anyway. Update: it works
When someone mistake magsafe to qi2 charge. Magsafe is only the magnet array. Charging is qi2 or qi. Thats different things and to knew if you read the qi and qi2 standards. Thr magsafe magnets only hold the device in place but doesnt change anythin on the qi and qi2 charging. That would work the same without the magnets
Measuring temperature on metallic surfaces with infrared thermometers is not very accurate 🙈 you’ll end up measuring a lot of reflected temperatures. Your fingers are more precise 👍
Please test and opine: RORRY 3 in 1 Magnetic Wireless Charger, 15W Fast Charging Pad and Phone Ring Holder, Μαg-Sαfe/Qi Wireless Charger Compatible with iPhone 11/12/13/14 Series, Apple Watch 8/7/6/5/4/3/SE/Ultra,(White)
I can actually attest on how hot those Anker magsafe chargers can go as mine short circuited and it bursted from the inside while I was asleep. The odd thing is that it’s wasn’t even charging anything. It charred and distorted the plastic casing as well as my white wooden desk. That scared the heck out of me and I now only the use the official Apple MagSafe chargers and MagSafe Duo plugged to official Apple chargers. Never will I use 3rd party ones ever again (especially not from Anker)
What’s actually the benefit of magsafe? They’re wired same as regular chargers. Magsafe you stick to the back and the other one plug in. And magsafe charges slower.
Idk man, I can kinda see the increased comfort in having one next to your bed for example, but other than that the only benefit at this point probably is that it doesn't rely on a functioning lightning port. I had mine break before which sucks. Guess in a couple years phones will charge wirelessly only. Less mechanical parts, better water resistance, slimmer phones.
I got one by a company called Tecknet who claims their 15W Magnetic Wireless Charger can charge an iPhone at 7.5W, Airpods at 5W, Samsung phones at 10W and LG and Google Pixel phones at 15W. I have a Google Pixel 8 Pro (supports up to 23W wireless charging) with the Mous Super Thin MagSafe case and I got a HUGE 2.6W. At least the magnets are good.🙄
Am I the only guy that uses double-sided tape to stick his MagSafe charger to the side of a table or a wall?.. I’ve done this with every MagSafe charger I have in strategic locations around my house.. now I have a place to put my phone that doesn’t take up table space and charges my phone. … I feel like this is a no-brainer.. but I don’t know anyone else who has done this. 😂
I’m apple brand everything but I’m using Bull strap case for the first time. Super premium leather and stainless steel buttons and a life time warranty but 89$ almost 100$ after taxes.
He and Val had a breakup. She was a hot friend from crossfit class he got to help with videos even though he's married with a kid. Things got strange when he rented a separate house away from the wife so he could do late night videos alone with Val and get her drunk, do whatever. She moved to Ecuador with her kids, has a new boyfriend and sings in a band now.
Apple artificially limits charging to 7.5 watts for third-party magsafe chargers, so they will never be as fast as an official Apple magsafe at 15 watts.
