"If they dont do it, do it yourself, sentry are just 50g" and "if you see that theirs position 5 tries to disrupt your position 4 pools YOU CAN HELP THEM!" From a support player i can tell theses 2 lines are the most important thing i would like that my pos 3 KNOW.
the thing that gets me, if you know they have vision and you buy a sentry you make money from it I always buy sentrys in the carry role its easy free gold
10:43 I think here you could aggro your creeps up when your ranged is 50% hp, secure the enemy ranged with your Q and then because your ranged is in deny range you can contest the PL for it, I think what you did is good when you are 1v2 and their 5 could punish you for going for the range. I really liked your guide by the way, very detailed.
Yeah, maybe. There's much to be learned in the creep equilibrium. I'm doing it pretty well, I'd say, but not perfect! To me deny their ranged creep is more important than killing my own, because it's reliable
Finally, found someone with same mindset as me. I also don't think that much about the MMR number, just always trying my best to play and minimize risks and mistakes. Playing pos4 for 4 months now and this video is helpful, I hope I've watched this 4 months ago. I agree, when you win you feel like the game just finished, but when you lose, you realize the mistakes you've done and learn from it. Kudos to you brother!
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld Hey man, appreciate it. I wanted to note, that people don't understand the power of hero-spamming, even for playing roles that aren't supposed to: you get to learn the hero from every aspect of it. The point you made about not following guides, and creating yours (after some experience, of course, with the hero), is big: it means that you know the strengths and weaknesses of him, and you can ADAPT your playstyle, accordingly. Also, the other point about limiting your choices to 4 heroes: BIG. I tried it today, and I can't tell you how it forces you to FOCUS, and think: which heroes do I like most, and MASTER, in order to DOMINATE? Seriously, it's no coincidence why you got to Immo rank. Thanks! Should I post any questions here, or elsewhere?
@@jasoncassios7114 , I'm a self proclaimed god gamer after all. I know how to win in video games, haha :D I'm glad that this guide is helpful to you, my dude! I'd not recommend to spam core heroes when playing support roles for example, because you can ruin games for others, it's not healthy for the community. You should have a separate hero pool for other heroes ideally. But yeah, you can play offlane heroes in mid and safelane, that's for sure and it might help you to really understand the hero. Personally I can say that I understand a hero after 2-3 weeks of spamming it btw. Every point I've included is important, and you can't reach immortal without perfecting every single point I've made. You can add comments here, and i'll reply, sure. But if i'll miss it for some reason, you can message me on reddit www.reddit.com/user/nshkaruba/
This is so good bro! Glad youtube algorithm led me to this! I'm mostly a safe laner but I still watched to know how a good offlaner thinks. So I can in turn find a way to counter. Tysm bro!
Lose streaks are great, they are a sign that you might've hit a wall, and that you need to find out your mistakes to improve! You can't continue playing like you are playing now and get more mmr, you need to fix something
Just commenting to say this is a great guide and I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into making this. I'm currently playing offlane at Archon 4 and my goal for this year is to reach Legend. This will be a big help!
My guy, you got this. Just focus on one aspect of my guide at a time, don't blame nobody but yourself, and you'll do it. Also watch your and pro replays, very important
Love this guide. I have 350 hrs in dota2 and started with Nemestice and Aghanim's labyrinth mode. I main Primal, Tide, Tiny offlane, Zeus mid. I got Crusader 5 2210 MMR this week after rank uncertainty. By now, I can do combos well, LH okay (I'm a LoL player) and execute teamfights, but have been lacking in timing behind map movements, smokes, pulling strategy and ingame roles. This guide is exactly what I need to crack Archon and press on. I will live to make pos1 regret queueing. Thank you P.S. the best lesson from the video was your emphasis on lane vs. jungle. I tend to go jungle too fast and get underleveled even though it feels like I'm farming (for example @ 10 min.)
Your hero pool is not very meta, and primal is very hard to play properly. So if you'll into some mmr climbing problems, I suggest you to pick more meta heroes
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld Thank you! I am quite OK mechanically with Primal but point taken, I'm working on being comfortable with Slardar and Magnus. I think those are more meta. Hopefully it helps 👍🏻
thank you man.! watch every minute of it. can personally relate to some of your points here (but don't actually practice it ) . after houndreds or even thousand videos i watch about dota. the knowledge you share on it are massive!. thanks a lot man! more power to you
Bro can you please make more videos wtf is this content, extremely good out of nowhere for me Great video.. I subbed, can't wait for more guides. Best of luck on your grind!
Haha, my grind is complete. I don't see a point in grinding for bigger numbers if I've already reached the best medal. But yeah, we'll see how it goes, I'll consider creating more videos. Glad that you've enjoyed!
Thankful for RU-vid for sending me here. One of the best offlane videos (and general Dota help) I’ve seen. I really like your outlook on the game, and while I try to keep this in mind during games, I often find myself easily tilted and losing the mental game. Any general tips to not get too worked up by things in game? I find it very hard coming back from a bad mental spot because a few small details or players got to me (even if I drew lane or am not in the worst spot NW wise). Thanks for the video!
Thank you for your words, man! Hope this video will help you reach new heights! About the mental strength. Athletes in common sports like swimming or boxing try to get strong not only physically but emotionally too. It's very important and without mental strength you'll be losing games that you should've won. You need to train this mental muscle. How to do that - I don't know. Personally I'm a very chill person and I always try not to be rushed, and to look at things not from my own tunnel-vision eyes, but from the above perspective. If you play a lot - I suggest to play less. Just try to look at the situations that tilt you from the outside perspective and be smarter. But yeah, I'm not an expert in this topic, I just have it in me naturally. Maybe try to search some youtube videos?
In high mmr games, you can just provide control and tankiness, and your team will capitalize on that. But in low mmr they will not. So you should pick heroes that can deal lots of damage and carry games solo. I suggest to pick Slardar, Viper, Alchemist, Bristleback, Legion Commander, Wraith King, Axe in no particular order. BB is very strong btw
Excellent video. I will say there is one note to clarify. There is definitely hidden pools and factors to the matchmaking. The game does in fact try to force a 50/50 win rate as much as it can. It does this through machine learning and it's trueskill balance algorithm. To deny it's existence is disingenuous. I do believe it can obviously be overcome, and there may be merit in best not thinking about it, but it does exist I assure you.
I climbed pretty fast (4 months from Archon to Immortal), and the game didn't try to stop me. It's just way to chaotic and there's a lot to be learned, so my take on it is that sometimes we try to justify ourselves with really anything, it's like a defensive human mechanism. It's much easier to forget about it entirely and try to be better every game you play.
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld you climbed in 4 months from raw archon to immortal? Was this solo queue or did you duo with a carry? Had you ever been higher than Archon before in your life? Something doesn't add up here
@@richmusick4881 I've been a divine 1 mid laner, yeah. But it doesn't matter. Dedicated people climb up from anywhere. If you can't climb, it's a skill issue. Go learn more about the game, there are lots of mistakes in your replays if you see close enough
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld yeah you've been divine before. I knew there was more to this story. No one climbs raw from archon to immortal in 4 months on their own with just a mindset change. You're sounding kind if like a fraud there lil boy. Disingenuous at best. Anyway, good job "climbing" from archon to immortal with your previous mastered mechanics and game knowledge from divine!
Sorry, man, I'm not planning on that. I think I've used all of my powers in making this guide, so I just want to chill for like a week or two, then we'll see
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld My bad, I didn't check your channel.🤦 But I'll be waiting for your next guide, my problems right now are positioning, heroes power spikes, and knowing what's right thing to do if you already have this item, at this time, how to counter, etc. -for offlane heroes
He's very good in low mmr imo, but he gets countered hard on high mmr, he needs too much farm and can be countered by wards and good positioning. Also it's hard to stomp your lane as sand king. Not my playstyle personally!
"It took me 500 games in 4 months to climb from Archon 4 to Immortal, so that's a HUGE amount of time!" You think that's a huge amount of time!? 😭(Besides, overall under 2% of players are Immortals so even getting there is a huge accomplishment in Dota!). BTW I liked your video and share many of the thoughts as an offlaner myself!
@@AurelianoShowsTheWorld Thanks! I also enjoy playing position 4 among all the other roles as well. Playing different roles helps to form a better picture of the game, and to understand what roles might want/need in different stages of the game!
Then you lose the lane and try to recover. You still have your pos1 and pos2 who can carry if you help them well enough. These games happen sometimes. Personally I hate playing with melee pos4. We usually lose the lane, but i've won a lot of games by recovering!
Does anybody know why stratz only gives performance ratings on some games and not others, I just logged in and only saw 5 of my last 25 games have a ratting section or the IMPS section
